If it seemed like I was trying to downplay the severity of it, that wasn't my intention. I just mean that it really isn't a life-changing experience for most people I think. It's certainly embarrassing for the people to whom it's happened, and they realize how stupid it was, but it isn't necessarily some catastrophic thing.

That does sound very dickish, but sometimes athletes have contracts where they can't take pictures/sign autographs except at official events. Not saying that's necessarily the case with Dale, Jr. But it could be. Todd Jones is known for being a dick/not approachable. Even at spring training where most players stay after to sign and talk, Jones doesn't. I'm pretty sure Pudge doesn't either. All the Red Wings I've ever met were awesome. Granted I was like 11 when it happened, but at the Troy arena I got a bunch of autographs and pictures, and they were all really cool about it. I really think most famous people are like that, it's just that you know who the dicks are.
