That was my thought exactly. I figured this thread word turn in to a pissing contest of sorts, but it's not quite as bad as I thought it would be. Anyway, I can actually sort of remember when my dad took me to my 1st Wings game just about 18 years ago. I probably didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the game since I was putting popcorn in the lady's hair in front of me, but I like to think of it as the point when I became a Wings fan.

Pleeeeeease tell me you're being sarcastic. Hey, let's not keep score at all since we might hurt the fragile hockey players' feelings.

I only saw a very quick replay of the Brashear thing since I didn't get home in time to catch the game, but from the 2 seconds of it I saw, I thought Hnidy pushed Brashear first then crumpled like a ***** when he got hit. Like I said though, I didn't get a clear look at and could well be wrong, and I just want the Caps to make the playoffs.

It's "O Fortuna" composed by Carl Orff from Carmina Burana.

The penalty actually was for boarding, but as the hit was delivered, the Vancouver announcers were livid, saying it was a charge. Don't forget that boarding doesn't have to be a hit from behind, it's anytime a player throws another violently into the boards, and I guess a charge could be boarding.

That's the one I was going to post. I still get goosebumps every time I watch that video, especially when they show Sergei's goal right as he says, "That's why I say hey man nice shot" That is a marvelously done video. This is another one of my favorites. I can't describe how happy I get watching this video.
-
I was hoping someone would do it.

People need to realize that these are just words. No matter what you say, words can't actually do anything.

Don't call it a comeback?

What? What secret code is coming from my post where I said that? In reality, the issue of clean or dirty is kind of moot when it comes to the retribution for it. He hurt one of their players on a very questionable hit, and he should have had to fight for it. It must be since he's such an awesome fighter that he threw that cross-check to the face so he wouldn't have to embarrass him in a fair fight I don't watch every game of theirs but I do watch them on Center Ice occasionally. Sure, Tootoo will square off sometimes, maybe even most of the time, I'm not sure. But this, the Robidas incident, and the couple times I've seen him actually throwing punches before the other guy even knows there's going to be a fight is more than enough to earn him the sobriquet "little *****"
-
Wrong, and wrong. People aren't going to cross-check Tootoo in the face when they come after him. In general, they plan to drop their gloves, and proceed to engage him in a fair fight. The little ***** won't do it unless it's on his terms though. And Lord knows that everyone out there is trying to hurt everyone every shift since it's hockey and all, right?

Horrendous things happen when you go to movies. I suggest you go to a movie every time the Ducks play, but never when the Wings do
-
Alex Ovechkin will have a 6 goal game in the playoffs this year Jordin Tootoo will suffer a career-ending injury before 2010 Fabian Brunnstrom will sign with Detroit, and turn out to be a bust

Tootoo gets absolutely ZERO benefit of the doubt from me anymore. I believe he was trying to hurt Miller with that hit. I was listening to the Vancouver feed on XM, and their initial reaction was that it was a charge, not boarding. One of the announcers said right after, "he's not playing with a full deck anyways" which is absolutely true. Hopefully he'll get a couple games worth of vacation for his actions there. What I really want to see is what happened after that with De Vries and Bieksa. I guess they both shot the puck at each other, then went at it. Bieksa got an instigator for it, and it was only with 54 seconds left or so. The announcers didn't seem to think he should have gotten the instigator, but then again, they were Vancouver announcers (the best announcers from another team I've ever heard, FWIW).

SeeinRed13 I don't generally play a whole lot, but since my PS3 is getting replaced I've been playing a TON of CoD4 and GH3
-
seeinred. My PS3 is currently being replaced, but I should have it back in a week or so. It's almost always CoD4 and NHL '08 for me.

Referee: #21 Don VanMassenhoven #42 Dan O'Rourke Linesman: #95 Jonny Murray #84 Tony Sericolo The final was 5-2, so I don't know how much of an impact it had. On the flipside though, that gave Buffalo the winning goal, and they scored again very quickly after that.

Grrrrr I'm not at home so I can't watch this. I'm really really hoping AO can put in 6 or 7 tonight. And I also love his celebrations. He's not taunting anyone with them, they're just displays of his emotion. It's not like he points at the goalie and dances in the crease or anything. He's pretty much the reason that I got Center Ice this year.

Nice touch with the title of the thread.

What a load of ******* s***. The NHL is lucky that most of us here are die-hard Wings fans, because I would have given up on this farce of a league long ago otherwise.
-
ZDH out there, good. Prove you should stay together boys.
-
What a crock of s***. Why even have refs and linesemen?
-
I haven't seen those 3 sucking, per se, just not being good. Stuart and Kronwall have both looked good though, especially Stuart's hit on Michalek.
-
I love how Meech looks better and better every game. This time next year and he'll be as good as Nick.

Fair enough. I realize there is also a fine line between optimism and blatant homerism, but what some people are spewing is not just un-homerism, it's pure defeatism, and before the playoffs have even started, no fan should have that attitude.
