I don't think it's possible for Flip to draw a penalty. He got butt-ended against Colorado, and then there he got tripped and high-sticked in a matter of 5 seconds and no call.

Good start for the Wings I thought. Kind of a weak call on Downey, but what did you expect after the pre-game festivities. And that was hardly a "spear" by Downey.

I'm almost positive he came back. I only watched the one replay that Versus showed, but I think he just caught a little butt-end in the nose or something and it stung him a little. Pretty sure he's fine though.

Great quote by Downey. For the most part I agree with you, but if Lappy had gotten a game misconduct for example, I would have had no problem with good, clean, hard hits on their skilled guys, just like the one on Nick. Obviously fighting Laperriere is the better option though.

Yeah the Kapanen thing was the 1st thing I thought of when I saw Nick stumble. It's still a really weird feeling for me to see that video, and I'm very glad the linesman spared us from that.

It was nice, but I didn't think it was their place to do it with the play going on. You didn't see it happen with Tucker's flying elbow to Kapanen's head.

Anyone else annoyed that of the names they show in that 60 goal commercial, Yzerman isn't one of them? They show Gretzky, Lemieux, Esposito, Hull and one other, but no Stevie. It's a conspiracy I tell ya.
