I'd add Spector's Hockey. I check that site multiple times per day. Spector's Hockey Other than that, I'd get rid of the News and Freep, I hate both of their websites for some reason. TSN and Yahoo are nice, so is CBC. I actually don't go to the official site a whole lot, either.

If you want teams to try to outscore each other again, and not just make sure the other team scores less, how about making total GF play into the standings somehow. I realize that would never happen, and in itself is a terrible idea, but there's got to be something that can be done if your main point of contention is goal scoring.

Just because Lidstrom doesn't deliver skull-caving head checks like Pronger doesn't mean he's not physical. He's always in position, and plays the body when he needs to. If you really think Lidstrom's lack of open ice hits is what "dooms" the Red Wings, you've got a lot to learn about this game.

It was probably covered in the GDT, but I wasn't at my compute during the game, so I'll be the 1st to say (in this thread) that Perry is a ***** and a half for not taking his helmet off. Not only that, but he waited until Drake started to go for his to throw the first punch. Normally not taking your helmet off isn't a big deal, but when you're wearing a visor and have the opportunity to do so and refuse, you're a ***** plain and simple. Regardless, it was great to see a fight in the first game of the year. Kudos to Drake for the entertainment tonight.

First of all, I didn't really check this board too much in the past couple weeks, and I'm amazed you're still talking like that. Bravo Secondly, what the hell is the problem people? When's the last time Kenny let us down? And do we forget that we can't just sign free agents every year to fill every position? What's wrong with giving a young guy a shot, we already know Hudler will be playing next season, which basically takes care of one of those positions. And not that I advocate listening to Eklund, but he's been doing all right so far this free agent season, he says Fedotenko may be coming to Detroit. Nothing more concrete coming from sportsnet or spectors though.

I don't see a thread for it, but it's just spector's reporting right now that he's gone to Colorado.

x2, this is a great signing. Lidstrom and Rafalski is going to be sweet. It seems like Rafalski could be more of a leader than Schneider was too.

I really don't see why people think the amount of money is that troublesome. Remember how much Philly signed Kimmonen for? We knew that was going to drive up D-man prices, but when people actually see it happen here they get all upset. I think this is a great signing by Kenny, and like people have been saying, the first thing I thought when I saw the length was that Nick's gone after next year.

I remember I didn't hear about this until the next morning, but I was absolutely crushed. I just loved watching Vladdy play. And for some reason, something that really stands out to me is before the series against Philly, some radio station played "Every Breath You Take" by the police, and said it was Vlad's song to Eric Lindros. I thought that was awesome But it's hard to believe it's been 10 years.

What is your favorite Nicklas Lidstrom moment/play?
seeinred replied to Salviaman's topic in General
The center ice goal is such an obvious choice, and a great one too. But for me, it's every time he just takes the puck away from a puck carrier coming full speed, with one hand on his stick. He makes it look so incredibly effortless, and I'm just amazed when he does it. I liked when he finally got his 200th too. -
I didn't say he doesn't have everything he needs to get in, I just said I'd burn the place down if he does. I just meant I don't want to see it happen
-
Brilliant, but now you're complicit.
-
So we agree on that much, it seems I just dislike it more than you do
-
Standard practice. At least they got something right.
-
BLASPHEMER! HOW DARE YOU MENTION THAT NAME IN THE SAME SENTENCE! But seriously... the day Scott Niedermayer gets inducted into the HHOF is the day I burn that place down.
-
Maybe we can get him to dedicate his life to "studying space" or something, and put him up in the space station.
-
I didn't see him, but if he has kids, they're the spawn of satan himself, don't let their cute appearance fool you. Here's the line ---> | Here's you -----> X Most of us hate him, and I'm pretty sure you didn't mean that, but there are very few places where that kind of comment would be appropriate.

That really, really depends on what you mean by deserved. Sure, they did what they had to win the Cup, but I swear to you, I would literally be sick to my stomach if the team I rooted for played the way the Ducks have this year. Congrats to the Ducks though, at least the team that beat the Wings won it I guess...
-
Well, now that he has that, maybe he can return to wherever the hell he came from and disappear. :puke:
-
In a sense, the Ducks really truly deserved this win. They did what they had to do to get it, and it worked. It's a load of bulls*** that it worked, but it did. This isn't bitterness on my part, so much as feeling like this isn't exactly the greatest thing for the NHL. I don't know. But congrats to Teemu Selanne, J.S. Giguere, and pretty much everyone not named Chris Pronger.
-
I think the goalie is the most PC choice, unless he has a French name...
-
Thank God. The fact that Pronger got to touch the Cup at all makes me mad, but the fact that he touched it before Selanne absolutely infuriates me. Doesn't surprise me in the least, but boy oh boy...
-
I tried to time getting home to see the presentation when I checked the score, but I needed to make a gas stop so I missed it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me May didn't actually get it before Teemu. My brother was kinda watching it, becuase I asked him to keep an eye on it, and he said it went Nieds -Nieds - Pronger - Teemu.
-
Only because the NHL couldn't justify giving it to Pronger. And I bet they tried real hard.
-
No, I'm being totally serious. I've been watching this thread since the beginning, so I saw your posts. I either just misunderstood them or forgot or something. My apologies.
