That was a really dangerous play, but I don't see Hossa being suspended for it. He doesn't have enough of a history of this kind of stuff to be suspended for it, especially not during the playoffs.

I've said this before, but for me, there's still not a defenseman in this league I'd take over Nick in the last minute of a game whether it's a tie game or a 1 goal game either way. His play is still nothing short of spectacular.

I'll bet if that happened in the 1st period, he would've been back later in the game, too. Hockey players are a different breed.

It most certainly would be a goal. You can high stick, kick, score on a delayed off side, hell you can pick the puck up and throw it in your own net if you're so inclined.

I think Keith gets it, but I'd absolutely love to see Doughty win it. And the day Mike Green wins the Norris is the day... well it's the day I don't agree with the Norris voters.

We had a lengthy discussion about this in the GDT last night and it seemed to be split pretty evenly. I think it was a good goal. There was no "distinct kicking motion," and yes that's what the rule says still. There's nothing about propulsion or changing puck velocities or anything like that. I don't think Foligno struck the puck with his foot, rather he moved his foot so the puck would strike it. It sounds petty but I think that's an important distinction to make. And stopping is not kicking.
