How come no one's blaming Datsyuk for their goal, btw? If he hadn't tried that cutesy spin move for the breakaway, that goal wouldn't have happened. And Conklin should've saved that, but since it was deflected I won't blame him too much for it.

I watched this game, and I still think that could be a goal. If that puck is flat against his goal stick, there's a good chance it's over the line. Hell of a save regardless. It's not one of those kinds where the shooter didn't shoot hard enough or took too long or placed it poorly either. That was a one timed blast, and Kipper got it.

I've always wondered what's fun about trolling. Will you explain why you do this? Is it a nerdrage outlet or what? And if you don't get the "obsession" with defense around here, you either don't like winning or you're rooting for the wrong team. -

There's no real standard for giveaways and takeaways, and they're kept by the home team I think. So what's a takeaway in one city might not be in another. -

It used to be on the NHL.com stats section under RTSS, but they don't seem to have that there anymore. On certain players' profiles there though, in the notes section it will say how many takeaways they have. -

I haven't said that Val's untouchable. I just think most people here are grossly understating his talent/value to this organization. Anyone's able to be traded if the right offer comes along. -

You really, truly argue (and spell) like a 4th grader (I figured I could get away with 1 ad hominem and still look infinitely better than you). And yes, Dats, Z, and Hossa could have gotten more. That's my point. They're paid less than they're worth. If they're paid less than they're worth, then obviously a player's worth isn't determined by his salary. -

You have SERIOUS reading comprehension issues. I didn't say anything even close to that. And it's not a GM's job to pay a player how much he's worth. It's his job to pay him as little as possible while keeping the players you want to keep around. Zetterberg is worth more than 6 million. Datsyuk's worth more than 6.7. Lidstrom and Hossa are both worth more than 7.45. -

You realize how much a player gets paid isn't necessarily indicative of his worth, right? Hossa makes quite a bit more than Datsyuk. Maltby makes more than Leino. Jeff Finger makes more than a lot of defensemen. -
