Sucks for the team and Homer, but this isn't all bad. Homer on LTIR frees up that much more salary for a deadline deal, and it means some of the youngins get some more time in the show.

It makes sense for the Rangers to give him another shot. The guy can definitely play, and the Rangers' record last year was way better with him in the lineup than out of it.

I didn't mean to say it's necessarily a good thing as far as playing is concerned, just that since that's the kind of guy Manny is, it makes me feel for him that much more that he's being waived.

I think that Manny's personality is such that he doesn't necessarily actually feel like every loss is his fault, but he feels better if he can try to make his teammates feel better about it by shouldering the blame himself. You have to appreciate that if you're on a team with him, I'd imagine.

That's not a defeatist attitude. He's just really hard on himself. Sucks for Manny.
