    The Big Chill

Technically the right call, but that's a goal. There really ought to be some ref discretion involved in those situations.

    The Big Chill

I hadn't heard that; you may be right. In theory anyway.

    The Big Chill

After that 1st PK, little brother had to be thinking "oh s***" when they took that penalty. You had to know Michigan was gonna convert. You said it yourself, home ice advantage. Exactly. The better team. Or the one that plays better today, anyway.

    The Big Chill

Michigan's looking VERY good so far.

That's: 31 games, 10G 19A 29 pts 7PPG 2 GWG +12 T-3 for PPG T-7 overall in assists T-7 in points 11th in +/- T-22 in goals (3 behind wonderboy Armia) Assuming my Finnish is up to par

    Another obviously blown call?

What's even worse is that I'm pretty sure the linesmen can make that call too after the play ends.

    Another obviously blown call?

, Thank you. I almost put some sort of smiley in there, but I figured what I said was stupid enough to be clear I wasn't serious. Sorry
  8. He's telling the truth. Google don't lie mawf***a. Not a wise career move, Daniel...

    Another obviously blown call?

Dude, ice is slippery. Also, trying to hold onto your stick with hockey gloves on is almost impossible. If any of you had ever played hockey, you'd know that FFS.

    Teemu Pulkkinen

I'd say he's a shoo-in for the final roster. Hopefully Armia makes it, I need to check that kid out. Why no Markus Granlund though? Next year for sure, right?

Pronger falls victim to "Avery Rule"

I haven't read or watched much coverage about this, so maybe I'm missing something obvious, but how do you know which version of unsportsmanlike conduct he was calling?

Pronger falls victim to "Avery Rule"

Most of you condemning this call either don't know or are pretending not to know that unsportsmanlike conduct can be called for any (get this now) conduct the referee deems to be unsportsmanlike. It doesn't need to be one of the examples listed in the rule book. It may have been a bad call, but to call it the wrong call seems a little presumptuous to me

Top 10 Angry Moments in Sports

Any list dealing in this sort of thing is severely lacking if it doesn't have Jeff Kugel failing to notice that the guy punching his teammate is not, in fact, a grizzly bear penetrating his mother and forgetting to change his built-in bad-assness settings from "bearmomrape" to, well I guess "off" would have been fine here.

All Star Ballot Results Thus Far

I love Avery. That said, he has no business being in an ASG. But I love how Rangers fans are basically trolling the NHL. It all started at some Rangers blog, and spread like wildfire from there I guess.

All Star Ballot Results Thus Far

The kid's not even a hockey fan. His parents make him watch every game though, and as an act of rebellion he voted nonstop for their least favorite player. It's true, I saw it on the news.

    Flames Fans Blame Refs

He didn't flip it, he rifled it. I was surprised he got away with it. EXACTLY! I've often said to people that in the last few seconds when you're up by a goal, don't take any chances. Guy screening in front? Trip him. Bearhug him, whatever. Amazing puckhandler skating in at you? Break his stick. Trip him. Something.

    Controversy in Pittsburgh

It can't be just that. This is a case of black letter law being ignored. It's not like determining a kicking motion. Whistle blows, play is dead. Period.

11/21 GDT: Flames 4 at Red Wings 5 (OT)

I don't know if you guys are kidding or not, and I know others may think it's hyperbole, but I'm the same way with Nick. Every once in a while I'll see someone make a play and, without seeing who it is, start to say "what the hell" or something, but on the times when I realize it's Nick, I don't even have a shred of concern.

11/21 GDT: Flames 4 at Red Wings 5 (OT)

I'm surprised no one's giving Abs props for getting Whiny McBitchface off the ice for the end of the 4rd and start of OT. I'm sure he knew his odds weren't good in that fight, but he went for it anyway. But seriously, wtf was up with the stripes breaking that one up?
