Yeah, a lot of non-russian born players chose Russian as their citizenship. I constantly have to correct people that I'm not from Russia, I'm from Ukraine. Several Ukrainian Born (Zherdev/ Tverdovsky/ Zhitnik) players chose Russian citizenship and played for Russia in the Olympics and International competitions, which kinda makes me mad since your suposed to be playing for your country...

I don't think it's fair to see all the blame put upon Kronvall, he did f^ck up, but we did regain the lead after it...Sammy had so many chances to score, I thought he would redeem himself on this board... guess not. I think that Helm should be bumped up to a better line. He has some awesome speed and is pretty good with the puck. I wonder what Dats/Helm/Flip would look like as a line... I also think that Abdelkader should be given a chance to play... But hey thats just me...

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the NYI have been trying to ship out Fedotenko, Comrie, and Satan. They are all free agents at the end of the year. Anyone think that we have a chance to get one of these three and possibly sign them to a contract later?

I think we should use science and fuse them into one super-goalie so we can totally dominate...

I'm planning on going to the wings/hawks game in chicago and was wondering when they start the pre-game skate and such and if its possible to talk to the players / get a signature or if its possible after the game.. As for Fedotenko, I read somwhere that Tampa was looking for a stick handling defenseman, not sure if their needs have changed or not now. I guess I'm not too into the idea of the Wings adding more people that are small. I just hope that if we do pick up someone we dont sell out our farm system. Id rather get a guy comparable to Danny Markov for a pick than Guerin for a prospect and some picks, although I heard that this years draft isn't suposed to be too talented...

Just some stats for comparison from Yahoo: last years stats are in () Jason Blake: 5-10 185 Age:33 Regular Season: 62GP(76) 29G(28) 23A(29) +5(0) 24PIM(60) Ruslan Fedotenko: 6-2 195 Age:28 Regular Season: 61GP(80) 11G(26) 15A(15) -5(-4) 42PIM(44) Peter Bondra: 6-1 202 Age:38 Regular Season: 13GP(60) 5G(21) 6A(18) 2(-3) 14(40) Based purely upon regular season stats, Blake is the best, but, I would take into account that Fedotenko is younger and hasn't reached full potential yet. Also i know that Fedotenko is a guy that has a similar style to Holmstrom but also plays a traditional wing style and isn't afraid to hit. I haven't seen Blake or Bondra more than once or twice so I reserve my judgment.
