He's going to be at the Westland Meijer signing autographs today...I'll ask him whats up

I know his work ethic has been questioned, but I think Babcock could light a fire under his ass....mainly though, I want him because he's a Ukrainian...haha. Though I'd rather have Ponikarovsky or Fedotenko, who actually have played for Ukraine, instead of Zherdev who took the "more fame/success" route and played for Russia...

Can't wait for this. Going to another wings viewing party at Motor City Casino Soundboard with some friends and some guys from our hockey team. Should be great fun. (hopefully I'll win something substantial this time...not just a beer cozy or a mousepad from 2009...)

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/1884 Yahoo Sports has him as a Wing haha. Did since yesterday. -
Chelios - He was doing a Meijer signing in Battle Creek. Saw him on his way out after getting stuff signed earlier. Chatted for a few min. Pretty awesome guy. Met Maltby in the store I work at in Grosse Pointe, as well as the Wing's goalie coach...he was picking up a pizza for Howie Met Abs and Helm at the Hockeytown store a while ago. Justin was cool and real down to earth. When I moved over to Helm he said "gimme a few to warm my hands up" and we chatted about school and hockey. He was awesome.

The Rink (in Battle Creek) offers quite a few classes to learn to skate and skill classes. I took a beginning one a long time ago, probably when I was like 7 or so. Haven't really skated much since. Probably a total of 8-10 times since. Working for my hockey team makes me want to take up skating again, went to an open skate in Royal Oak a few days ago and after about 5 min on the ice, my feet hurt like a ***** haha.

Hoping for a balls to the wall win from the Wings. My friends and I are going to the Motor City Casino for the viewing party (managed to snag a few of the 400 tix before the "sold" out). They won the last time there was a Viewing Party, hopefully they win again

Yeah, Detroit Mercy. Last Year we basically had 3 forward lines, 3 D lines, and a goalie. The backup goalie broke his leg 2 games into the season, not sure what happened. This year we actually have about 20 players. Up until now we only had our starter goalie, but now our backup from last year is starting grad school here so he's back. We're also over .500 as of now. It's pretty exciting. Got games against Oakland U this weekend, Lawrence Tech next, few other schools (Hope, Muskegon)and the Clark Park Showcase. Lawrence Tech and UDM are playing again I believe. Last year it was the first outdoor game there between our schools, pretty awesome. Biggest game this year at home was against #2 ranked MSU. We lost 5-2. We were up 2-1 going into the 3rd, but the last of people always screws us over and our team gets tired. It's great to hear the other teams coaches compliment our team, especially considering our school refuses to even acknowledge us. Kinda dumb IMO, a DETROIT school without a hockey team...

I work for our school's hockey team, and there has been a lot of fan interest in purchasing Jerseys. I was wondering if anyone knew any sites where one can buy replica blank jerseys (lesser quality than what the players wear, for price reasons). Our team uses the Washington Capitals jersey style and Old English "UDM". Basically I'm looking for the cheapest option for a jersey, since we already have t-shirts and sweatshirts that look like the jerseys. So far this is the only site I've looked at, but they only have it in a lot of 10, and it would be under $60 total (probably) so people would be willing to buy it. Blank Capitals Jersey

2. The 2 co-captains are the 2 guys that founded the team. It's a club team (ACHA D3) that was started last year. We also have 2 'A's, the other two guys that helped with the organization of on-ice stuff, getting people together, etc. I helped the original 2 guys with promoting the team on campus and posting stuff. I also do the scoreboard/stats-sheet/music haha, it's a pain in the ass sometimes, especially when both teams fill up the entire Penalty stats list (holds about 30 penalties). I know it's knock-off, but all that matters is the jersey pattern/color scheme. I gotta talk to the guys to see where they got the patches and where they had em sewn on at.

I might be able to make it up there on Saturday. Depends on how bad this snowstorm in on the west side of the state. Definitely would be cool to watch. I'll try and see if some guys from our hockey team would like to go.

I'd go with Serbia or Bulgaria. They're in close proximity to Ukraine They also seem like hockey countries to me. I think it'd be awesome if Mexico won it though. The womens ice hockey team is famous though: http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Bulgarian-women-s-ice-hockey-loses-82-0-gives-u?urn=nhl-106362 Yikes.

I don't understand why some people are making such a huge deal about Tatar. Think about it; if you were 21 and scored your first ever goal, would you not celebrate? Hell I know I would, and I'm almost 22. It's just like Mickey (and other members here) said, it's the logo on the front, not the name on the back. Good for him, I wish more Wings would celebrate a bit more than just the raising of the hands haha. Maybe not quite Ovie style, but a bit more than just "yay, I scored, again..." Off Topic: did anyone watch NHL Network between the 2 IIHF games? They did the top 10 best shootout(I think) goals and Datsyuk's deke in the SO against Minnesota was number 1. Awesome.

sub .500 team...I think Ozzie should get the start. Hopefully it ends up being a confidence booster for Jimmy though.

Bought "Tough Guy My Life On The Edge" yesterday with a B&N gift card I got for Christmas. can't wait to read it.

I'm going to Hockeytown Authentics tomorrow. Hopefully getting my hat signed and a friends hat. Well worth the $20, and it goes to a good cause. Wish I had my Stanley Cup Freep book, I'd like to get that signed, but oh well.

Glad I wasn't the only one laughing at this...would've been funnier if he hit it hard enough to knock himself dizzy/down. lol

I agree that the description of the call is crap, but I think it was right of them to take the goal back. Blocking the goalie with ones body or stick is one thing (while facing away from the goalie), but sticking your hand out to block a goalies view is stupid IMO.

Still Howard? I figured that Joey would get a start here...maybe Sunday then?

Just got my ticket for tonights game. Can't wait for the post-game concert by Thousand Foot Krutch. Sadly I'm in 228, so I'm hoping they score a lot in the 2nd...haha

Dave Lewis to Coach Ukraine's Hockey Team I'm excited. Ukraine has a pretty good team, but can't seem to get far in competitions. Hopefully this'll turn them around.
