wow, Doan actually complemented the Wings and Hank...maybe he isn't all that bad... Still want Bert or Abs to wreck him lol.

Howard should've frozen the puck with Coyote players that close.

I live on 6 Mile and Livernois. There are bad parts, but there are also parts that are pretty nice. If the people were to care more about the city, it could be totally different. My schools architecture program does a lot of Urban/Community site work, and most of the professors that are licensed architects also do a lot for the city. Downtown Detroit (near the Ren Cen, Joe, Riverfront) is really nice. I've walked around there plenty of times in the day and at night and haven't ever felt threatened.

Penguins Ponikarovsky suspended for final two games

I feel that 2 games is a bit harsh for him. 1 game would've been enough, it's not like he's a repeat offender or anything that. I've seen worse stuff happen and players end up with only a penalty. I wouldn't mind it if Detroit signed him in the summer... -
Retire? lol. Cause we have a plethora of NHL ready goalies just waiting to be called up. I'm a huge Ozzie fan, but Jimmy is the hot goalie right now. Doesn't mean that Ozzie is useless to the team. I'm sure he's had a huge role in helping Howard become more NHL ready in several ways this year.

I still have Sergei, Cheli, Larionov, Shanny, and Yzerman. I think I might have a Hull one too.

I was at the game (which was AMAZING) and people were starting to leave when they saw Howard smother Crosby. Everyone stopped mid-step and started clapping and yelling JIMMY JIMMY. The entire game was amazing. Tons of people, lots of crowd involvement, and the best part; the Wings won.
-
Hopefully going to the game if they have Student Tix left when I get out of work at 12:30. Saddened to see 2 Ukies playing for Pittsburgh though. GO WINGS!
-
Why over 21? I've been parking at Greektown and taking the people mover (or one of the free buses) to the Joe since I was a freshman in college, and I'm only 20 now.

I really really really hope Alexi comes to the Wings. Finally, a Ukrainian on the team.

They do have a good talent pool, but the facilities are far and few. When they were part of the Solviet Union they would "export" stars to big Russian cities and develop them there, so there wasn't a real need to build hockey facilities. They didn't do too bad in their first olympics (10/14) either. I think their hockey program can develop as well as their soccer program. They surprised the world in 2006 when they managed to reach the quarterfinals in their first showing ever and lost 3-0 to Italy.

Go Ukraine!? I was saddened when they didn't make it into the Olympics this year. Maybe if Ukrainian born players played for Ukraine instead of taking Russian citizenship...Zherdev/Zhitnik. At least Fedotenko stays true to his roots.

Not one of his greatest assists, but it makes me smile every time I watch it. I love watching the bench celebrating with Pavel.

They should trade him for cash, that way they can buy those plastic covers to put on top of the skates for everyone so we don't lose any guys blocking shots.

I wonder how much of a price increase Versus/Comcast want from DTV. My parents switched to DirecTv pretty much a month before they stopped showing Versus, which really blows. I really hope they get something in place before the playoffs.

that was Jimmy's "soft" goal of the night right? Now he's going to play awesome...hopefully. I'd like to end 2009 w/ a win.
-
Wings 3, Avs 0 Datsyuk, Bert, one of the Nicks. Let's end 2009 on somewhat of a good note

Just noticed that Howard is #1 on the Yahoo Fantasy hockey "Hot" chart. lol.

Besides the glove/stick to the head initially, I think Derlyuk (the other guy) came out on top(not that there was really a winner in this fight). Fedor didn't leave the game. He actually comes in as they're fighting (he's # 81) right after Varlamov skates in. At the 1:50 mark, the guy that comes zooming in fists a flying is Fedor. He starts another fight and they cut to him a few times.

Merry Christmas! З Різдвом ХриÑтовим!

I'd be content with an "I'm thinkin Arby's" somewhere on the back of the Jersey or on the Helmet. I could see Goalie's possibly getting ad's, but I'd rather not see a bunch of Wings jerseys with multicolored patches on the ice.

It's like masturbating in a time machine...

Awesome game last night. The last minute of the game was crazy, all the fans in my section were going nuts. Post-game concert with Dave and Bridget from Flogging Molly was equally amazing.

Planning a trip to detroit, don't know the area, help

Thanks for the picture compliments. I usually end up taking 200-300 at a time and only about 30-40 actually make it up to my account. It wasn't that cold the two times I went there. It was just windy by the river, but I don't get cold as easy as my friends do haha. One of my friends is from Grosse Pointe and she thinks I'm crazy for walking around downtown Detroit by myself with a $600 camera in my hand, she tries to avoid going there by herself. It might be because I'm 6-1 and male, while she's 5-4 and looks like she's 15 haha. The people are quite friendly IMO, I ended up talking to about 4 or 5 different people along the river and the RenCen about architecture and cool places to take pictures. I plan on going once my second semester starts and there's some snow on the ground, but this time I'm going to pretty much mummify myself with clothing. -

If you like architecture, spending some time walking around Detroit is lots of fun. I spent 3 days walking around taking pictures last week. http://theukrainian1.deviantart.com/ <- some of the pictures that I uploaded. If you want more info, let me know, I should have a map or info somewhere laying around. If you want to spend time walking around Detroit, parking @ the Greektown casino is free and if it's cold, the people mover is only a few blocks away, although I prefer walking. Royal Oak and Ferndale are fun places to go to as well. Taking a walk along the main street with all the small shops is entertaining, and there are plenty of places to eat.
