That was just embarassing. I'm by no means in any state of panic, but give me a f***in break. It was a terrible game to watch. Even if we had won, I doubt it would be in much better of a mood. Just disappointed with the overall effort. Or guys didnt dominate like the should have, and as has been said in a handful of other posts, are top guys werent at their best. And Dom, I love you so much, but holy s***, those goals this afternoon sucked ass.

Words cant describe how excited i am for this game. Regardless of what the Standings show. My cousins fav team - Toronto. Mine ... well, I'm on these boards. Must say I am very very disappointed by our last showing against LA, but there is no way we will repeat that outing vs. the Leafs. Big game for our boys. A warm up for the Ducks sunday. I get both games, and will be watching both. Go wings! We net atleast 5!

i remember how much that guy suprised me last playoffs. I never really knew it, but he was in the corners, getting hit (hard) and taking it. My favorite part of it all was he was damn near impossible to knock off the puck. Guys twice his size we taking him on, yet couldnt take him down.

Nicely done. I heard this one a while back. It was career day at school, and all the students had to say what their parents did for work. There were the usual responses, a policeman, lawyer, doctor, etc. Then Billy said, "Umm, my Dad is a stripper at a club for men. And to make extra money, he goes upstairs with some of his better clients." The teacher was obviosuly mortified and dismissed the class for lunch. She came to Billy and said, "oh my god Billy, is that what your Dad actually does?" Billy looked at her with ashamed eyes and said, "No. He actually plays for the Maple Leafs, I was just too embarassed to say so."

I know. I kinda want to have to go through them. I remember watching one of my DVD's, and I believe (dont quote me) that Shanny said they had to go through the Champs to get the the finals. (being the Av's at the time) And while they are obviosuyl a scary team to face, it would be that much sweeter if we could eliminate them.

I really dislike the ducks (as a Wing fan would after last year) and even though they had a very slow start ... they will make the playoffs. But just looking at the West right now is unreal. A very very good team will miss the playoffs this year in the west. The last 5 or so games of the season are going to be nuts. Just to get everyone rowled up for the playoffs, they should start the TV sched early and show some of those, I bet there will be a few wars.

I'm just kinda curious about this situation in regards to a new contract. I've read all the pages, and know it isn't the same problem, but it is still a concern. Obviously I want Z locked in with us, but what is his value? (cash-wise) Like, he is an unbelievable talent, I know that. And in every discussion thread about the subject, the number seems to be $7-7.5 million. But if he is going to be suseptable to a reoccuring injury, will that affect the price? Just a thought. Get better Z, I miss you when you arent on the ice.

I would like to see him do it. Part of me believes he can. But I think he would have to play with Pavel near every night. I think just because of how much they are relied on in Tampa, Vinny will probably take it this year. Same deal in Atlanta with Kovy, and Iggy in Cal. True, Zetterberg is a lot better than our 4th liners. But we dont rely on him the same way those other teams depend on their stars. So they will get more time, more prime time, and probably hold the title at years end. Personally, I'm just stoked to see Detroit have some boys up in the Top 10 in scoring again. It has been a while.

As with many, I'll just say I am very suprised. Iggy is an awesome talent, and solid leader. But the league knows strongly now everything Nick brings to the Ice. He should have been the Captain hands down.

Could you imagine being a leaf fan? Holy s*** ... I've been pretty lucky as a Red Wing fan over the last decade or so. It is almost impossible to imagine our team every going through such a massive draught.

what i am kinda curious of is ... is/would Mats be strictly a rental. I know and have seen his reports about how he loves Toronto. But if he were to go to Detroit ... or any other city for that matter ... he might want to stay. After seeing years of s*** toronto decisions, a management team not willing to do what it takes to win, he might like the change somewhere else. Just say, He arrives in Detroit, the city gives him the welcome, the team gives him the welcome, and the atmosphere gives him the drive. We win. And he think ... "he, this place might be a good place to stay." I know with Mats, a ton of teams will be in the hunt and it really will be highest bidder. (unless Mats has a say in where he wants to go) But some strong conditional picks might help. you know the 'if he re-signs' things. Just a thought. I love this time of season!!!

I know its been said in the previous 4 pages ... but my 2 cents ... as much as I liked Blake in the past ... he is not the answer the wings need. We are as strong defensively as any team gets. Sure his 52 inch ass could deliver a few more punishing hip checks than we usually dish out ... but I think the one area we need to improve towards a cup is up front. What will end up happening, i dont know ... but I can imagine.

I really think he should take the job, and ship Sundin and Tucker here for pennies. Then rip off his Maple Leaf jearsey at center ice and expose a Red Wing one beneath on our February Hockey Night In Canada meetting. Haha ... oh, wait ... what ... this isn't pro wrestling? Agreed. How funny would it be, if one goalie actually had some sick moves, and was called for the shootout and scored some unbelievable deke.

Interesting. I dont like the concept of Sundin in Vancouver though. (though I understand thats not your point) Van is getting scary bout' now with how well Lu is playing. They dont need someone with Mats touch.

I dont mind any of the changes, with the exception of the fastest skater. I like the way it is done around the rink, not this new head to head style. Oh well, win some loose some. I'm happy to see it shaken up. So for the shoutout skills ... 3 players per conference. Who do you guys think will get the nominations? I'll take another look at the rosters, but I think it's a given Dats will be one.
