Its brutal that the coaches, players and management notice it. I've exhausted my supply of quotes and arguements on the topic of fans at the Joe. So, I'll just simply say it's sad.

I agree. I want Luongo and the whole Nucks squad to get lit up. Lids and co. can hold the Sedins, but the Nucks D cant hold Z and Dats. Luongo is their only line of D. He is damn impressive, but I still think our boys can crack him. Prediction ... 4-1.

Let's face it, Z is going to slow down at some point

The old poke a bear with a stick and see what'll happen trick eh? hmmm, I like. -
Good to see that Nic and Z are in the lineup. Though hearing about it still has me rattled. I just dont like the fact that two of our key guys (emphasis on the word 'key') are even sore.

has a referee or linesman ever fought a hockey player during a game?

Holy crap the guy gets nailed!!! Hitting From Behind times 10!!! -
Not sure on his status, but god do I hope he is ready to light-up Luongo next week. I need Detroit to hammer the nucks this year.

In all seriousness, I saw something along these lines in major junior. The player was Bob Westrby. (he would go onto play AHL). He was playing with the Kamloops Blazers and there was a line brawl at the end of the game. 6 on 5. One of his team mates was gettin double-teamed and he tried to get in there to help, but as he was coming in the Ref tackled him and dislocated his shoulder. He was never the same. -
AAAgggghhhhh!!! This makes me a sad panda.

Haha. Funny. Any others anybody can think of. I'm sure Homer or Dom could get labeled with something.

When this came up the other year ... when it looked like he was going to be a UFA, I eventually came around to him. He is big, tough, and can score. Yeah, I'd definatley like to see him in Detroit. Doan is a competitor, and eventually it has to wear on him playing for a team which will never ever stand a chance.

While personally I love Z and just think he is the best thing to happen to Detorit in a while. But a hell of a arguement can be made in the Dats corner. Last year towards the end of the season, with Z hurt, Dats really turned it up. And again, in the playoffs, he was amazing. Its one of those things, i'm happy they're both on our side.

I saw this the other night and that was embarrassing. Tootoo totally turtled. I guarentee he was fine. What a f***in ass clown.
-
Agreed. God bless Dom, I love him. But if we coulda got Loungo, I'd have been a very happy camper.

I know it was mentioned a lot during the Downie hit, but I just hope when f***-head Pronger pulls some of his dumb s*** the NHL hits just as hard.

Should Pavel and Hank stay on the same line?

I personally liked Lang. Especially his stare-down. Pretty much the scariest thing on earth. But for what kinda cash he got from the Hawks, I dont think so. -
Four games, four bad pinches, four goals against for Lilja
arnoldbuck replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
It is a strange thing about some players, how one time the can be so impressive, then the next, flat. If Lilja played like he did last playoffs, (with the exception of a certain give-away) I would be proud to have him as a member of our squad. He was a force out there. I hope he can regain that. As far as looking at the other's ... While I have seen those flashes from Kron, I will continue to say that his contract is the worst on the team. Followed by Maltby. Not that I dislike either player, I just think their contracts are worth A LOT more than what those players offer. (sorry for the thread hijack) -

Yes. Everyone saw it last winter how awesome they were together. I was hoping for it this year. I'd stick with it. If we are having trouble scoring, due to an unbalanced roster, we can split them up. But I'd use this like the gift it is, and run with it. -
Haha, just reading down this thread, some very very funny responces. Good laugh. Thanks for ending my night on a good note.

Haha. I'm off to work and that made me smile. But didnt he switch over to the new style of mask?
-
If have to work, so I think I will miss this one, but I'll be keeping my eye on the highlights. Lets go boys. Light Kipper up tonight.

But it does matter. This is Hockeytown. Don't get me wrong, yeah, I want to see those headlining names a top rank teams too. But if Detroit fans want to get defensive when other cities call them out for being NOT being Hockeytown. We have to be able to back it up. It is embarrassing when we have that written across the ice and the camera pans across the rows of empty seats. Yes, the money is there, the team isn't hurting ... but the image and ideals of a proud, winning team are not.

Nicely put Wings&Beer. No excuses, just the truth. Well done.

which is bizzare, cuz i really pictured them tanking this year.

I know its been said before, and argued when the situation came about. But Lowe was in a tough spot. His franchise player left, his job and career woulda been on the line. He had to do something, and it is No secret that Edmonton for multiple reasons is having trouble landing big talent. So Lowe used a legal option. Whether its a low-blow or not, it was an option he had to try. Sure I woulda bin chocked if he went after Z, but a guy has to do what he has to do, right? I respected Burke for a looong time. He helped to bring Vancouver out of the NHL basement, he added the pieces to make the Ducks champs, BUT ... his non-stop whinning (ie. 02' playoff round against us, and the above situation) just go to show what a ****** ass-clown he is.
