Yeah. I figure you are right on that one. At some point, I'd like the league to actually jump on that bandwagon and have a hockey day. Possibly original 6. Though, if that happened I have a feeling Detroit would end up against Chicago, when I'd much rather see them play Toronto or New York.

Thats the stupdest thing I have ever heard. Though, even though neither team made the playoffs, I watched afew of the Toronto vs. Montreal games last year, and it was some of the best regular season hockey I have seen in some time. But thats retarded that and organization which be so biast against an American team. Especially one like the Pens with so many young players that everyone loves to watch. So, Toronto wont play the Pens, but the Canadian Networks have no problem showing 9 minutes of Crosby highlights on a 10 minute show. Hmmm ...

I dont want to say anything here that will make any of us cringe ... so I will dance lightly around the topic. If Z and Dats get time together and play like they did last February, ... and Hank's injury doesn't bother him, they could be substantialy higher than these totals. If those two click the way the can, 100 points isn't out of the question.

I know games like this are limited to places with certain climates ... But ... ... okay, the Pens are becoming a great team, and with that talent, a huge draw. But Buffalo. They had a wicked team ... last year. They have fallen apart. I guess the other year with the Oil and Habs they weren't dominating teams either, I just think they coulda found a better opponent for the Pens the Buffalo.

Thanks for that list. Get some solid idea's going. Like every hockey fan, there are probably some players I'd like to have, that'll probably never happen. Cuz its not like we have a ton of depth to trade away. No excess of talent that is ... so it'll have to come primarily in the form of pics, which probably wont result in an A lister. None the less, I'll still be keeping a close eye in the situation in 08'.

Not really bad or good. I liked there jerseys over the last few years. I think the TML should have stayed on the shoulder. The bottom is too empty, stripes should have stayed.

Good read. I also have some reservations about our front. I hope Dats and Z do get some time together, cuz the way they were last winter/spring before Z got hurt was amazing. Definatley I'd like another scorer. Whether he steps up from within, or is brought, it don't really know ... just get r' done. It isn't the wings situation now that concerns me. Its the Wings in 5 years that concerns me. Hasek surely will be gone. And we dont really have a solid heir to the goaltending thrown ... can Howard really be a legit number 1? But more importantly Lids will be gone? Last season I really saw how key he is to our teams success. His eventual loss will be devistating. (sorry for highjacking the thread to the future ... just where my thoughts took me)

Yeah, thats kinda what i was thinking. I do hope he has a strong camp, but I know so little about the guy, I really have no idea what to expect. And unless, he or Hudler, or someone like that can really, Really, step it up and become a top winger, I still think we need Dats and Z playing time together.

I can't say I know a lot about the story, but would Grigs ever play for GR? or would he just head back to Russia? And didnt we try this splitting of Dats and Z at the beginning of last year and it didn't pan out? Obviously I would love to have a balanced scoring attack and not just a 1 line team. But everyone out there knows how deadly those two can be together.

I know the Pens are trying to salvage their fans after a near decade of s*** hockey. And they finally have a potential great team ... but this is just amazing. For what its worth, our teams, overall marketing, advertisment and well, group who comes up with idea's liek this really must be looked at. Everything from public appearences, billboards, commercials, merchandise. Something has to be done. I know michigan is on hard times and that can account for many empty seats etc. but at the same time, a more entertaining product and fan friendly atmosphere could give a real boost the the greatest franchise in the world.

I like the black C on the Red Jersey. Looks tough. Overall, pertty decent. Agreed that the idea of the flags is a dumb idea. Save the national pride etc. for the Olympics. Just my opinion. And for the socks ... if they are going to have that 'venting' stripe down the back, could it not atleast continue the colour scheme across it.

As the gap grows, I just sit here in shock. I know it is nothing more than a stupid online poll. I know we have fantastic jerseys and a great logo. But still, just the principal of it all is frustrating.

Haha, this is exactly what the NHL needs. Good marketing. True, I suppose it is just confirming many opinions that hockey is a violent sport. But thats besides the point, it is funny, and will get attention.

Yeah, I've thought this for some time now. I dont know how great the view would be from seats like that. But the position isn't really neccessary anymore. I imagine someone somewhere else can turn the red light on. Just doesn't seem like a big deal to me.

I'll be honest, since I discovered Letsgowings, I dont think I have once looked at our official site. I use some of the update to sports sites for scores etc. but as far as anything Red Wings is concerened, it will be posted here within minutes.

Its probably been said, but i'll say it as my own. Steve obviously has a love for the city. As has been mentioned, I dont think he would have remained in Detroit if he didn't like it. He was treated Very well in Detroit, and he gave everything he ever had for the team and city. As far as the NHL is concerned, atleast for the next handful of years, I dont think any opportunity would take Steve away. If you are saying he wants to fast-track his position to GM, well, he stepped into a pretty sweet position right out of retirement. I bet he's loving every second of it. And if you are talking loyalty to Canada, he can and will continue to prove that on the world stage. Steve will have many chances to GM national teams for World Championships, World Cups, and possibly even Olympics. One day Steve may be able to take the reins in Detroit, and I'd love to see him do it. But for now, I think he's happy where he is.

Hope so, but I'm not giving a response, I have never seen him play at any level. 3. Will Hudler score 20+ goals this season? Yes. 4. Will Filppula have a 45pt season? Yes. 5. Will Lilja get in more than 5 fights? Yes. And Win the Majority. 6. Will Rafalski have a career offensive year? If so, not by much. 7. Who will be the alternate captains when Zetterberg gets the C? Heatley, Cleary 8. Does Cleary turn out to be a one hit wonder, or does he repeat with another 20+ goal showing? Cleary 9. What one forward, that is an 08 UFA as of now, would you like to see the Wings get at the deadline? Ooops, silly me. I didnt realize it said deadline. I doubt Heatley will be traded then. Guess we'll have to wait to the offseason to get him 10. Of the players whose contracts expire in either 08 or 09, which ONE top 6 winger and ONE top 4 Dman (both in the 3M-5M range) and which ONE bottom six player (less than 2M) would you like to see the Red Wings sign?
