Thank you. I live in Kamloops, so surrounded my Nucks fans. Being me as a wings fan can be hard at times. THough I was kinda hopin to fight you guys for the west. Good run, Luongo will be there for a while, so this is definatley not your only shot, haha.

I'll say Lids has made a few plays which I cringed at. But no more than any other guy on our team. We are playing a VERY strong team, and it is hard to constantly keep up to that. Fact is Lids is human. He is and has been among the best in the NHL for sooo long. Name players from 1990 onward who have been consistanly as reliable as him. I'd love to see that list. I havnt been a wings fan long enough to see most of the generations, but behind the Captain - Steve, nobody deserves to be honoured more than Nick. He is an unreal talent and when he is gone, he is going to be greatly missed. I am honestly worried to think what will happen to us when he isnt backing our blue line. He has never been flashy, but he always gets the job done.

Just curious. When someone tosses theses items onto the ice, do security rush in and toss the person? Obviously if an Octi is thrown at an away arena, the security might be pissed. But if its at the Joe, do they jsut kinda turn a blind eye?

He had a bad game, and hasn't been his old force self. But I would not take him out of the lineup. In the series against the Flames, when he was constantly going after Dion, I got so excited. I can't remember the last time I watched awings game and was that excited to see one of your boys steppin up to the other team. Bert did take a few dumb penalties, but for him to be an effective players, he has to play with an edge. He has to be pissed off. The need to put him in a cage before the game, dress up in shark outfits and poke him with a stick. Cuz when he is pissed, he is at his best.

Well, I really liked the first half of that game. I really thought we could win that one. But the 1st goal was soft, just outta reach. Then a handful of Brutal calls later ... including the last one where I nearly punched a whole through my tv aiming for the refs head. So flustered right now.
-
On CBC the were just focusing on Pronger and how brutal he looked out there. After watching the replay's, it remind me of his play at the last Olympics. He was gettin' headline minutes, but looked asleep and giving the puck away. I hate that guy.

I definaltey have to agree, I want this to be a long, hard faught series. But at the same time, as has been mentioned before, I dont think taking on damaged teams is always a good thing. Because all that means is we will come up against a strong Ottawa or Buffalo and not be ready. There is no team in the league I rather see Detroit beat than Vancouver, but Luongo is this playoffs X factor. He can win a series by himself. Looking at Vancouver goals for, you would not think they were playing int he 2nd round right now. So I will say I'd like to see the Ducks as well.

I think they just realized (especially after the final) if called 100% as anally as it was then, Every single goal would be under revue. I mean, I do believe there are still limitations on in crease interference at the time of the goal, but it was ridiculus that year.
-
The Goaltender Interference call in this seasons playoff reminds me of the "in the crease" calls in the 1999 season. Remmber how intense those were called? And of course the Hull incident. But it just seems like it is being made into waaay to big of a deal. Through the game to this point that I have seen in the playoff, I have seen 3, maybe 4 incidents where the interference was truly a big deal. The rest just come across as whinning and a poor excuse for a penalty.

Van had a few decent chances and some pressure in the first few minutes, kinda like game 1 of their series. But the Ducks pounced and made it count.

I checked that out too, but in a few other threads, all reports say that game 5 is most likely the earliest return date. All I can say.

It has been hashed on here a million times it seems. Shanny did get a pay raise with the Rangers, but I do believe Detroit matched his offer. But if memory serves me correct, the Rangers offer wasn't even the highest offer he was given. I believe he makes $4 mill in NY, and Montreal gave him an offer of $5 mill. I can say, money was probably a nice addition, however, there are more factors to it. As for booing. If you are booing an oppenent simply to try to knock him off his game ... fire away. Its sport and it is fun to have the crowd into the game. The one exception is break on this rule is again w/ Feds. I know a lot of people were upset with the way he left, as was I, but he was argueably are biggest playoff performer behind Steve. But when I hear the boo's, I know they are coming (for a majority) out of people who loved him.

Lovin' them all. I check in everyday, some classics. This is a good battle. One point, in that Chelios pic from a few years ago where the sign read - uglier than Ricci. The thing i really like about that is how Chelly has a huge grin on his face. It is pretty funny, but I love that he can just laugh at it. God I remember I used to hate that guy, but over the past, what, hmm, 8 seasonish maybe, he has grown on me.

The trap has killed us before, but I dont think it is what is gettin us right now. Other than turn overs and a so so PP, what is really gettin us is our un-ability (not sure if that is a word) to sustain and form of pressure. We get the puck into the zone, and very quickly San Jose clears it. Just have to win the races. Throw a few more hits. Get 2nd, 3rd chances. We have the talent to break the trap even when it comes up, just have to put those words into practice.

Hahahaha. LMFAO!!! Seriously, where do you come up with these lines. If ever I could take one person to a hockey game from LGW's, hands down, HoH would get the nod.
-
For anyone saying home vs. road is not important in the playoffs ... just look at our round 1 opponent. They played 100 times better at home than on the road. I'll admit that they are an extreme case, but none the less, still arguement for.

Idealy, yeah the finals are going to be huge markets with max exposure. And I understand they arent AS big as the Cali teams, but Van is a big market. 3 mill, thats some decent change. And at that, it is Canada, where 99% of all about hockey. So you can argue the league has nothing to gain from a market that is already hooked, but at the same time they are loyal and are Always going to be bringing in the revenue for the league. As for the teams left in the playoffs. I am very happy with the remaining 8. It is nice to see for the first time in a few years that there is no real 'Cinderella team.' NO fluke team that backed into the playoff and road a hot goalie to the finals. Every team in the remaining 8 has the potential to win the cup and actually deserve to be there.

Very happy with that finish. Third period was awesome. Fun to watch. San Jose has bad ice, and our track record isn't great, though, I think our boys are aware of what this trip means. Cleary was amazing again tonight. I know the put up 2 goals, but I hope Dats and Z can constantly put up a little more of a scoring threat. Was happy with the conclusion, but I want them back in February form. Come one boys, play in San Jose just like you finished the game today.

Was about to ask the same thing. Thids girl is holding her own I suppose, though, I like Karen. -
Actually I'd like to see the opposite. I dont know if I wanna face the Ducks anymore than Van next round. But I really didnt like how Van handled the Burke situation. He actually helped to bring Van out of the 'joke' status of the league. Then he went on to Anahiem to do the same. I'd cheer for Burke over his Nucks. Just to rub it in their faces.

Completely different question ... same topic. So hopefully someone reads and can get me an answer. Do bonuses count against salary cap? Like for instance Dom bonus following us successfully winning first round. Just curious.

On TSN they were saying, the NBA says in the next 20 years they will have teams in Europe. They then posted, in the same time span, how many NHL teams will be there? I wonder. (at some point, I'm sure this will earn its own thread)

Rangers may want to try to stay outta the box. Just a suggestion. strong last 5 for buffalo. 0-0 still though.
-
Rangers have been crazy good for the last month or so. Damn, Pierre McGuirre almost had his head taken in. Next time guys, work on the aim. For how much s*** the Red Wings have been taking latley about Goaltender interference, there have been Far worse from around the other games. I dont know if it is just because guys like Homer are so damn good at it, but we take a lot of crap for much cleaner play than some of this stuff.
