I agree that their is nationalism on CBC and TSN. They are our networks. Just like ESPN or VS. would be in the states. I did no doubt fly into a blind rage, cuz I dont like the comments about Canada or Canadians. Would be no different that if I came on here after hearing an american broadcast and claimed all americans to be arrogant or ignorant. It is just rude. Believe, living in Canada and cheering for an American team I get more than frustrated sometimes with the Canadian bias. I dont care to see 10 minutes of Canucks highlights and 20 seconds of Detroit. I wont doubt for a second that Canadian stations are bias towards its teams and will often make stupid comments towards the refing etc. that they wouldnt if it were any other team. But as I said, I jsut didnt get for that comment, thats all.

EXCUSE ME!!!! Yeah, I'm using all caps and pointing that out. Perhaps someone has already called you on it, but that was not called for. Sure some canadians get up in arms about their teams, as would a Red Wing in defense of his. And I dont know why TSN would block a comment like that, I have seem some of the s*** they allow to be posted. But dont be playing the nationality card on this. The backlash could come right back at all the things americans do which irk us. But I wont, cuz for the most part I love americans and if I had to be born into another country than Canada ... it would be the US. Sorry if this reply seemed a little extreme for the minor comment made ... but it pisses me off - on Both sides of the border - when we verbaly attack one anther for no reason.

Well, I was a huge Gretzky fan as a little kid. I remained loyal to Wayne right through his retirement, BUT ... when he was traded to St. Louis I was watching them in the Playoffs. They came up against Detroit, and obviously I knew who Yzerman was, but when he scored that winning goal in triple OT. I really took a shine to him, and the team. The very next season I followed them much more, and ... they won the Cup. (Yeah, I came on at the right time) I loved Yzerman, Shanny, and Fedorov. The only two jersey numbers I have worn over the last 10 years have been 19 and 91. May highlight as a Red Wing fan was the 02' Playoffs. I live in BC, so when Detroit met Van in the first round it was amazing. I was taunted and booed when Van was up 2-0 in the series, but as we all now, Stevey Y turned it up. I knwo lots of ppl like to remember Steve from his younger days when he was ripping up the score sheet, but that playoff run was the reason I loved Steve some much. The times have changed, the faces are new, but the logo remains the same ... and I love my Wings.

For sure it is sad. I think the Wings are one of the classier organizations around the league at re-signing players. There are some of the role-players that Detroit probably could have shifted over the years for a better price, but remained loyal to the guys in Red. There are a handful of guys I would have loved to see in Detroit to the end of their career, obviously Shanny and Feds for me. I just look at the team we have now, and I am finally happy. It took has taken a long time for us to fill the spots they once filled.

I think most will say Sammy, but it will be Huds. Filp was far more impressive of the two. I saw easily just as many mistakes etc. come from Sammy, but of the younger two, Huds wasn't as impressive. That being said, I thought they had a great time with Franzen for a bit. Looked really strong in the first. Overall, just keep Filp in the game.

It is sad because in Detroit he was so much more than just the hockey player. He had a lot of peoples hearts and great memories. And in Calgary, he is just a grinder whose day has past. I still watch my DVD's and love him in the fights, big hits, and scoring a lot of big goals. But he isn't that player any more. Atleast not in my eyes. I dont think he has the skill left in him to be that guy again. Which is unfortunate because I know a lot of Wings fans say they would love to see him back, but he isn't who he was in the mid-90's and wont be for us ever again.

Lilja must be left out. The Pain needs to remain in Detroit. And if we are trying to re-unite the Nucks of old in Detroit, I imagine when Hasek is finally done Cloutier is probably available. As mentioned above, we have guys on our team that have exaclty what Naslund can bring to the table. Perhaps just not the old-friendship, but give it time, we may have that too.

Haha. I saw the title - How the West Was Won. And I thought, 'hey, thats a lot better than - join the red wave.' I pictured our boys in wild west gear with shotguns riding into the sunset. Haha. (anyway - that was completly off the actual topic) yeah, I watched Day 1, and some of the games looked tough. It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Dammit Wings reporters and wings fans. Start comin' up with entertaining funny stuff. Haha. I opened it expecting to see another Calgary newspaper article or player interview bashing us, and while I half got what I expected, I did have to laugh. Pretty good idea. Though I am sure there are a few more bets that could be added to the list.

I'm gunna call and ***** about something that isn't quite as important and maybe I will get Steve. But seriously, that is really cool of Kenny to do. And for someone to stop watching Red Wings because of Bert, thats a little extreme. I can't stand when people say, 'he basically tried to kill a guy.' What Todd did was by no means acceptable, but trying to kill someone he wasn't. I have never liked Todd. I always thought he was very selfish and a bit of a baby. Even before the Moore incident I said, 'that guy is gunna do something stupid oneday and it is gunna get someone hurt.' And what he did to Moore was inexcusable. However, that is in the past and nothing more can be done. He has to wake up every day knowing full well what he did. I imagine more than once (aside from when the reporters are grilling him) he has thought about that nights events. He has been punished and the world should be able to move on. I have made my attempt at moving on. I still don't like Bert, but I wish him all the best on our team and will cheer him on as a Red Wing. Why? Because that's what matters ... Cheering on our Team.

I finally gave in to sleep after 3 OT's. Exam today, just couldn't do it. Dallas shoulda had it. Was frustrating for Stars though, Dallas had more shots (far more at the point I was watching) yet Van was ensuring not a lot of quality 2nd shots etc. Either way, both teams can do this all series if they like and wear-themselves out!

So glad he is in the eastern conf. now. I dont have to put up with him on the highlights anymore.
