Holy Crap!!! Like My McDonalds ... "I'm Lovin' It." But please prove the world wrong in the playoffs!!!
-
Well he better be fine. Cuz I want minimun 10 goals in the playoffs outta him.
-
Actually ... for your information, a few of those threads were MERGED!!! The count currently sits at 998. Haha.
-
I have said it before ... I think the Pens have a lot of promise and will be entertaining in the years to come ... but I'm going for Ottawa. Not your time yet kids. Heatley will be a monster in the playoffs.
-
For the love of god!!! Please, let this be nothing.

Is that still going on? Come on, yeah, he time in Pitts ended poorly, and with the Caps, lets not even go there, but he was great with the Rangers last year and this year. He is with a group he seems to get a long well with, a coach who works well with him. True he has had some head-related-issues, but he was born with talent/speed/size like no other. And he has found a good space for himself in NY and is going strong there.

That has been our problem for the past few exits. Running into a hot goalie ... even if they are unproven in the playoffs. We just have to get on the, early and never look back. Make sure that the first 5 shots are Sammy wrist shots from the point. Last thing we need to do is give the goalie that confidence. Detroit has this amazing ability to make opponents goalies look like all-stars. As I said, sure get some long bombs from those who are capable, but get our guys shooting from in close making a mess in front of the net. Homer and Bert, I'm looking at you guys. I wanna see a bunch of goals like the one Calder scored the other night. He layed a guy out, worked his ass off to the front of the net and barried it.

Your calm reassuring words have saved me. I saw the initial responses and was about to scream that the sky was falling and all were to run for their lives!

It is funny, the west has these very strong teams but the entertaining race is in the east. It was about a month ago, maybe even around trade dealine, when Calgary was in 8th and the Avs and Edmonton dropped back. I said to myself, this is it. I think we have our final 8. We will play Calgary in teh first round. We have all the talent to beat them. We just have to learn from our mistakes. Keep with the puck possession, but get inside on them. We cant rely on firing 40 shots from the perimator to win. Sure Nick and Schnieds will put in a couple, but we need our guys putting them in close. We can take them. It is going to be a big-hill to fight through this first round, but can do it, and once we do ... watch out!

I will second that.

I agree about fans bitching about the league. It is the greatest game on earth and even the best fans always seem to want to rip it down. I dont really have an opinion on expansion ... but i know many guys use the excuse "oh, it will water down the talent level. games are boring te way it is!" Well that is Bulls***. The avergae talent level currently in the NHL is higher than it has ever been. And I dont doubt for a second there are players out there in other league around te world who could replace some current players or add to new rosters. True, there are only so many Ovechkins, Crosby's, Iginlas, Zetterberg's etc. but dont try to say use that as an excuse. And as for each new expansion class ... I have really come to find that MANY hockey fans are traditionalists. When it comes to teams, logo's, third jerseys, conferences, playoff format, rule changes, new jerseys, expansion ... etc. it goes on and on. So many people just want it to stay the way things were. I by no means want the NHL to expand into area's where the teams are gunna get no more the 3000 fans a night or have to fold in 5 years, but I do want the NHL to improve both with the on ice product and off ice situation. It is evolution of sport ... things will change. Some of the changes will be more drastic than others, but I for one am happy to watch a league with 30 teams, modern equipment (yes even sticks that shatter seemingly way to often) jerseys that dont look like my grandma nit them and rules that adapt to a changing style and play of the game.

I see this depending On Zettas return and how dominating he is. We all saw him last year in our short playoff stint. And this early spring he was even better. That being said, it may take some time for him to get back into that mode after he returns. I have no idea how Bert feels about being in Detroit. I dont like the guy, but I do respect him. He is on my team now so I am going to cheer for him. If he has a solid playoffs, then yeah I would be down for signign him again. Though I do wonder, with a shday passed few years, will he command another $5 million +.? Or is that going to drop? Edit: This is one season, where I am Very happy with the look of our lineup. I am really curious to see what Kenny can manage in the off-season to keep this group in tact.

I just became a Rangers fan based on that comment. Haha, go Rangers!!! Go Jagr!!!
-
I know his supporting cast was slashed at deadline, but I really wish he had put forward a little more in the way of totals this year. I know its just year 2, and he has lots of time ahead of him, but I wanted to see more of the race with him and Sid. As well, it will be cool to see a guy scoring 60+. ^^^Bossy, 122, wow.

That is a good point. When/if Lang leaves ... whatever happens ... if we do sign Dats he is going to have a significant pay raise. That will eat up a good portion of potential salary towards new players. And as has been discussed, the cluster-f*ck of other UFA we have too. Though, I can only imagine unless he pulls out something remarkable, Bert will drop a little pirce wise.

ESPN: "Slim Chance" Hank back before playoffs
arnoldbuck replied to RedWingsFanatic's topic in General
Ahhhhggg!!! Round 2!!! Man do I not like the sound of that. No, screw his health ... all for the greater good, haha, jj. Where are those LGW ladies bout' now ... surely they can get to the bottom of this. -
Haha, your 98 posts clearly show you havent been around to see some of the threads this season. If it is more to your liking I could start another thread about 'who we will face in the playoffs' or 'why lang is lazy', perhaps and 'Why cant Dats produce in the Playoffs?' Those ought to be a nice relief for ya.
-
Good on ya, ... all I can say is I am jealous.
-
Haha. All I can think of his that Sport Chek commercial where the guy comes off after some shinny-hcokey and his wife says hi and he gives that cookie-cutter interview. "Solid 60 minutes, gut check time, big two points."
-
I cant explain it. Its like when you watch American Idol and the people suck ass. Not the ppl that know they suck, but the ones who think they actually have talent but still blow. Same deal. JR should be the last one who gets that attention, but he loves the camera and the attention and for some reason, he seems to get it.

Update: Carolina 2 vs. Tampa 3 - late in 3rd. Carolina almost out of playoffs. I find it really pathetic that the defeding Champs probably wont be in the playoffs.
-
He did that in Van lots too. I remember Crawford always wanting him to shout more. He was always looking for Naslund.
-
I loved watching them last year in the playoffs. Seem to come out of nowhere and were sooo fast and dominated. I think they could be really strong in the postseason.

Just an update: Sabres 4 vs. Penguins 1 w/ moments left to play. Buffalo will move to 109 Pts. with 3 games remaining.
