Well, it is good for the NHL to have teams like that win the Stanley Cup, but I think it is pretty firmly establised Bettman would want as Rangers vs. Kings match up for a few seasons passing the cup back and forth.
-
of the two, Guerin. Though, (even though I highly doubt it will happen) I would like to see two new names here. Its kinda like Christmas, can't wait to get something new.
-
Then the guys pass the role of tape around the room sniffing trying to catch some greatness. Ok, ok, seriously now ... hmmm, Forsberg to Nashville. Oh, wait ...
-
Haha, sorry if I came across that way, I was just informing the correct termanology to the new guy. I didn't mean to make it sound like he was in my bad books. I like Lang. Not my favorite, there are indeed times when he looks like he is floating out there, but he has the talent, is a solid 2nd line man for us, and it would talk a hell of a move to satisfy and justify trading him. Agreed Willy can go.
-
Agreed, I dont like Bertuzzi, never have, but if that goes down ... I'd be nodding in approval. As for Forsberg in Nash ... I can really only say one thing. Dammit. ... actually wait, i suppose I can say more. SOme say Nashville gave up a heavy price for him, BUT ... ... it all depends on what they do. They lose, the trade sucked. But they are obviously going for it, and with a line up like that, hell, they could do it. Does that seem odd to anyone, if they did go on to win ... the last three cup Champs, Nashville, Carolina, Tampa Bay.

Careful with calling Lang lazy. The correct term on LGW.com is "Land is Lazy and He sucks" and thats trademarked, haha)

Forsberg trade around the corner....to the Preds?

It has only been over the last while I have actually noticed Eklund comign up. Seems to me a lot of people have little faith in this mystery guy. -
I could probably google search that, but you sure ended it cuz I have no idea what that means.

Well pretty mcuh everyone on here seesm to agree that anyone who says "visors are for wimps etc." is an idiot. Every player in the NHL regarless of their position (goal scorer, fighter, whatever) has a right to protect their livelyodd. Sure we they get in a scrap the helmet should come off, but that has nothing to do with wearing a visor during the game. VIsors aren't designed to block incomign fists, they are for pucks and stray sticks. On this issue of the NHL making in maditory, thats a bit tougher to say. I am starting to side with the making Visors manditory because although they are grown men who are payed and can make the decisions on their own, team owners and gm's have a lot invested in these guys and if there is anything they can do to protect them, so be it. Again, evolution of sport. I'm sure if you went bakc to the 80's everyone was up in arms about trying to make helmets manditory, but it happened, and i dont think anyone in their right mind woul dplay in the NHL today without a helmet. (except for possibly Fedorov who seemed to enjoy his hair flowing behind him as he skated)

Something that is kinda pissing me off with these adds, why in so many of them are the players wearing their equipment? Like last year w/ Forsberg in bed and Crosby in the shower or Turco driving the mini-van!!! And it continues w/ these guys. Like are we (the viewer) that retarded to not get the point of the commercial w/ them out of the equipment an in normal clothing? The NHL commercials are funny and have so much potential, but they still making some mistakes.
-
Should they do a lottery every year, like after the lock-out? I actually found that kind of exciting.
-
Was just going through the scores and noted that Nashville is pumping San Jose, was 5-0 last i saw. Hmmm, do we play San Jose again before Play Offs, I would just like one shot to see if we can hold our own.

Nah, Lilly to Pittsburgh for a picture of an autographed Crosby jersey
-
Good point. Det was soooo much better than all three of those teams, but a hot goalie can be our kryptonite
-
The Penguins throw in the towel and send Crosby and Malkin to Detroit for Lilly and a 2008 5th round draft pick.
-
I think it is because people look at him and see something we have been lacking for so long. We have had the talent, the scoring touch, but have been missing that real warrior. Now Doan does not have a lot of playoff experience, but I think pretty much anyone looking at him could see he would be a playoff monster. He is gettin a lot of money to stay in Phoenix, and I'm not sure he woul dbe my number 1 pick to have come here, but he does have decent talent, good size and heart ... and that counts for a lot.
-
Bertuzzi to the Avalanche ^^^ haha, damn, beat me to it
-
I live in BC, so like in 02' I was getting absolutley grilled by everyone we Detroit went down 2-0. Van is gettin hot right now, and regardless of a potential lack of goal scoring, they do have Lyuongo in net which means sometiems they only need 1 to win. That being said, as much as it would stress me out if those two collided, I would love to see Detroit take out Van in the playoffs again.

Not that I was ever totally convinced he was coming here but I am Very suprised he has made this deal. I know he has a good relationship with Wayne, and that he has been with the franchise his whole career, and that he has made a home there for his wife and kids, Yet, he is such a competator and I really thought he would want to move to a team with better playoff hopes. He hasn't seen the post season in what 5 years? And on paper this last year was Phoenix's best team ever. And what did they do with it? Well, I suppose good on him for stickin' with the team, they do need him there, but he would be great to see in post-season play.

I know that bet was placed to Zion, but in my opinion if Detroit had won 1-0, I'd be happy with the 2 points but still dissapointed that we only managed 1 goal against the leagues bottom feeders. I get both sides here. I wont go to say hit the panic button ... we are doing well and are pretty much gaurenteed a playoff spot. However, we have had a few solid chances to make some significant ground on Nashville, even pass them last night and we lose to St. Louis and Philly. Now I know we aren't going to beat these times 100% of the time but you have to capitalize on these chances. It was mentioned somewhere else by another LGW'er that Philly last night looked like Edmonton last April. It is a reality that we will have to face. We are a much more skilled team than most we come up against but that doesn't mean we are going to beat them. I know we have our style of game, and for the most part, I absolutley love it, but when these challenges to come and a team hits us with a different type of game, we have to step up.
-
No ... if we get 4th we have to play San Jose. 1st we will get the Wild or the Nucks. While we have had a strong season, there are a few gaps which we def. need to look at before the playoffs. (not just stuff adressed by a trade) but like the full 60 minute game.
-
Offensive zone Face off, get control and beat them up here on the PP
-
Thanx guys ... and gals. Lily turtled eh? hmmm, how big is that guy? Shouldn't he be mixing it up? I mean, I know he has all his other faults but is that another. And I really dont want Forsberg in Nashville, they are really good the way it is.

I can not believe this is back up. Seriously, other than Gretzky, Ryan Smyth is number 1 there. He is a hometown boy, who is adored by fans and a great player to boot. I am almsot positive he will spend his ENTIRE career in Emonton. He would be awesome here, but it ain't gunna happen. However wants can cut and paste this and bring it back to say: "ha!! Kev you were wrong!!!" if it does end up happening, but I am sure thaty wont happen. Ryan Smyth is an Oiler and always will be. Lets not waste our time looking at him and let something good pass us by while we are twidling our thumbs on something that wont happen.
