Just got home, so to save me from 9 pages of searching, and story lines developing this game? Just combinging the trade rumours ... geez, apparentely Nashville is in the Forsberg mix w/ potentially Radulov. That seems like a lot more than we could give.
-
haha, I'm in. Done deal.
-
Nope, Zets can go. haha, Bring It. (and of course for anyone who may believe I am serious, forget about it)

I am just not sure about Doan. I know this is Phoenix making the room to give Doan pretty much whatever he wants ... but with that guying being such a competator is he gunna want to stay in a city where the are doomed for all eternity to not make the playoffs? With Doan, sure he will be drawn (as anyone would) by a good chunk of coin, but I think his eyes are going to wander to a more competative team.

Another one on TV out west!!! So far I think this has been the best season for me as far as how many games I've got to see. We had a stretch of games where we were slow until the 3rd, the yesterday a dominating first 40 before going to sleep for a few minutes, so ... lets see if we can do all 60 today. Another Win, we tie for league lead in points, and there is no end near for the dominance of our top line.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
arnoldbuck replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
I was abouto ask the same thing. On page 1, line combo's were shown with those two. W/ sum bonuses pushed to next season, (apparently Lang out of the picture) and maybe one other trade, could we afford to have those two? -
W/ both the Ducks and the Prads taking such early leads this season, but having San Jose and us also so strong we have pretty much be lined up to play eachother for as long as I can remember. I kinda liked the idea in the beginning of the season of flying under the radar, taking a lower seed than we in Detroit are used to, BUT, that being said, with the way San Jose has man-handled us this year, def. not so sure I wont to meet up with them right away.

For hockey players, what's your best story from a game?
arnoldbuck replied to Inultus's topic in General
Well, I have about a million moments from my hown hockey playing years, but I think the moment that sticks out to me the most was my first Red Wings game. I live in BC and I finally saw them in 02' against the Canucks. I remember so vividly the Canucks took a penalty, and onto the ice came Yzerman at center, Shanny and Hull on the Wings, Lids and Fedorov on the point w/ Hasek in net. It was absolutly amazing to see. A handful of the all time great playing on the same line not in an All-Star competition or Olympics but all on the same team in the NHL. If I recall correctly I don't think the Canucks cleared or even touched the puck for more than a second. If I could return to any moment to watch in a game ... that would be it. -
Haha, Pleasure doin' business with you.

I must be sounding like a brken record but I will rpeeat seeing as how it wasn't listed on the Cons above.^ Con ... the #1 Con that is: s*** Ass Attitude. All other points valid.

What a disgraceful bunch of bumbs!!! Firesale!!! Any takers? Zets for a bag of pucks! Dats for some new water bottles! Everything must go!
-
This season has gone fairly well, only 1 or 2 skids which had some reaching for the panic button. I really didn't like Zets and Dats start to the season but with the way they have been over the past 25ish games, can't complain. Few dissapointments, not some much Lil's, but def in Williams. Angrifying to get a raise and not step up. And my biggest concern is our difficulty with the Ducks and the Sharks ... can we beat them come playoff time. Overall, from what expectations were at the beginning of the season, and even around Christmas, I am very happy with how we are doing right now.
-
Just checked in, we only have 7 shots!?!?! Is that correct? Is the a Red Wing record at this point or the game? Come on boys were aren't the Oilers, we dont get to win with only 13 shots on net.
-
Haha, very nice. A hockey fan and a South Park fan? hmmm ...
-
If he came here, I'd hate him. I sure as hell wouldn't buy a Bert jersey, BUT ... if we won a cup, I would be happy. I never denied the guys god given ability. He has the size, the hands ... well everything, but just the absolute worst attitude I have ever seen. However, I am torn ... its the Stanley Cup. And we as Detroit fans know thats ALL that matters.
-
Haha, have to agree. I just sit and laugh when I see some guys in a beer league who still act like they are going to the show. Doesn't matter what level you play at its ok to play with emotion, but come one, you have to get up in the morning to go deliver the mail, stop dropping the gloves. Haha. Okay, I suppose there is a rare instense where I can see it happening, but ... those are rare.

I am willing to look past the Moore incedent. But it is his constant piss-poor attitude that really gets to me. But for the list above ^ 1) a Power Forward = he definatley still could hold that role 2) a dominant player = it has been a few years since we have seen this guy at the top of his game. He showed occasional flashes (like last years hat trick against us) but he has some work to do. 3) Gritty - its here where he gets in trouble - one game he is on, the next game he is off, then the next he goes to far. 4) Scoring - Put with the right guys, yeah this guy could still net 30 a season for sure. 5) Determined - This guy was never determined. He was lazy. Other than his occasional recless behaviour, it was his worst problem. Ask any Canucks fan, (even those who liked him) ... you never knew if when he showed up at the rink that night if he was going to give a s*** or not.
-
AS you said he has done it through out his career, but I think traditionally with other teams he gets a little more action. With this defense in front of him, he is lucky to get 20 shots a night coming his way. Simply put, I think he gets bored. He needs that action to keep himself sharp and in the game.

I know there is still plenty of season to play, but does it suprise anyone where we currently are ranked in the standings? Going not just for the division title, but first overall in the league! Yeah Boys!!!! Goaltending is a question, but keep everything solid. Another big game from the top line, perhaps Dats can be a little brighter. And Langer adds another. Notch me in for a win.
-
I think we've been getting a little lucky as of late. We have won a lot of games, but everyone on the team says we have been playing poorly and making mistakes. A few soft goals, lots of give aways. It cant keep going, we have to pick it up. Wont beat San Jose on luck.

Boyd.

Actually I think this theory of yours might be a little backwards. The last few years when Atlanta was absolutley fighting for a playoff spot Kovalchuks production went down ... Because he couldn't just think offense. He was forced into playing a 2-way style game which focused on defense first to ensure a team victory. He will continue to get points no doubt, but if it is down to the last few games, he has to watch both ends of the rink ... not just the net he trying to put the puck in to.
-
As mentioned above my only doubt at the moment (and has been for a while is San Jose) For a considerable while Detroit and San Jose have been locked into the 4th and 5th positions. And that is very likely a first round match up. I have every bit of confidence in this team, but this team has smashed us this season. I'm not exactly positive as to how I'd like to see us line up in the playoffs, but I pray we escape the first round.

^^^ exactly, another year on his contract at $3.5ish ... faaar better out there Kenny, keep looking.

Wow. Totally forgot about that song, I think they used it during the Olympics too. With that song, compined with the video sends goosebumps up my arms. Makes me wanna give it the old try and go for the show again, haha.
