I would have to agree to some degree. First Phoenix goal in the last game would be an example. Dats gets the puck out of the crease only to have it picked up by other team's player who got to be all by himself in the middle of the zone. Also there have been a number of failed shot attempts after pretty good passes from Pavel. Could have been goals. But there is also the notion that the best players are able to elevate play of their linemates. I also noticed that he does not play much on PK. I wounder why? I feel much better when Dats or Z are on the ice to kill penalties.

Yes, I understand the reasons. It is just unfortunate that at times sport crosses into realm of politics.

It depends on your point of view regarding the purpose of the hockey game. If it is to determine which team is better at hockey then what Clark did is unsportsmanlike at the very least. On the other hand if the purpose is to win at any cost then yeah, he did good. I think in North America "win at any cost" point of view is very prevalent.

Russian team (as well as old Soviet teams) typically keeps 5 player units together.

Watch the Olympics. I like winter games much better than summer anyway. Half of the players in the Olympic hockey tournament got to be from NHL. So there really is no need to have a break from watching hockey.

Helm does not seem to have the hands of a scorer. He is fast, great forechecker but he does not seem to have good shot or dekes.

It is painful to see first line to play great hockey and second (third, fourth take your pick) line to suck so bad. And Leino is unbelievably soft on a puck. It takes slightest push to make him lose it.

Seen it on HNiC. I hate the idea. Glen Healy said something to the effect that a lot of hockey fans do not know who Lady Bing was to support the idea. If a hockey fan never made an effort to find out where the names of NHL awards came from it does not make a lot of sense to make a change to cater to such fan.

Bertuzzi should follow a simple rule - if he got the puck he should either shoot right away or pass to Pavel and get open. Pavel is routinely covered by 2-3 opposition player when he got the puck. There got to be enough space to get open.

I don't think that price of Center Ice is unreasonable. Where I live it is on par with going to see a single game live. My problem is that it does not have all the games. So if I want to watch a game, which is on Versus, I have to use an online stream.

Quite good defense by Wings during this game. How is it possible that Datsyuk has no takeaways on the scoresheet? I can remember at least one that lead to the second goal.

I am not sure how to read Leino's quote. He is either not happy with his own play or with the system, which does not allow him to do the things he want to do. I hope it is the former.

Lang could score. Bertuzzi had number of good chances and so far could not finish. But he is skating he does not look lazy.

Wings look slow. Especially after watching Capitals play. And giving up soft goals sure does not help.
