Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound
Pskov Wings Fan replied to DatsyukownzU13's topic in General
I suspect that most of the KHL teams are losing money. They are typically financed by some business or government entity. There might even be some teams, which are paid for by some wealthy individuals. -
NHL Network coming to Digital Classic on Comcast
Pskov Wings Fan replied to heed316's topic in General
Does it mean that it will go away from the sports package? This will suck for me since I only have this package (to get NHL Network) and Center Ice (during the season). I really do not want to pay for however many channels are in the digital classic just to get NHL Network. -
Grier Could Bring Some Diversity to Hockeytown
Pskov Wings Fan replied to amsoil33's topic in General
Don't care about diversity. Whoever plays better hockey (for the same amount of money since we have cap now) should be on the team. But then again I am no politician. So I might be missing how it is going to lead to world peace. -
Former Russian President, Putin, wants to see KHL expand to Europe

Do not underestimate awesome power of vodka. Applied in sufficient quantity it can solve any problem. -
Formula One has not been the same since early nineties. Economy did hurt it but also races have been lacking excitement for a while.

I could understand argument that auto racing somehow contribute to the gas prices. I suspect that amount of gas all racing cars use is rather minuscule compared to all the cars people use every day. I just hope that NASCAR goes away from TV. There has to be a better way to fill TV schedule over weekend.

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
Pskov Wings Fan replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
Probably most of the above penalties would land NHL in court. Suspended for the remainder of his RFA status, maybe. But I don't think NHL can deny a player from ever playing in the league again. On the other hand individual team would be much more cautious signed a guy who bolted out of a contract before (this is not quite the case with Hudler, he has no NHL contract at the moment). -
NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract

I do not see KHL club paying any money to the Red Wings. I NHL decides to go through courts I would guess that NHL would win in US court, KHL would win in Russian court and it will amount to nothing. To get some compensation from KHL there has to be a reason for KHL to pay it (afraid of some sort of retaliation from NHL, disallowed to participate in Vancouver games, etc...). And I just can come up with any real one. -
Based on San Jose games I've seen last year I like Grier (at the right price). For a grinder he has reasonable ability to score. He is also fast skater, which is always nice to have (not as fast as Pavel as we can remember). And he happen to be from Detroit.

State of the economy does not matter as much when you have the money (as Hudler would).
-
I can see Wild going for Sundin if they can't get older Koivu. They are weak in the center. Wings got great centers, they don't need Sundin at the price he would likely be asking.

Ah, guy who used to be rugger winger with an offensive touch. I hope Holland looking more toward the future, not the past.
-
Do we really need 13 forwards? Can we save cap space by not having this guy at all? Not sure what CBA says about it.
-
Well, he is quite small. But if he is really as skilled as highlights suggest I am all for taking a chance on him. Wings allow their prospects time to develop so he will have time to get stronger. But you can't teach talent and he got some.
-
Or nobody will remember about it a year from now.
-
I guess Detroit really did not want to pick Ashton.
-
First one was not very good to begin with. Now talking about getting raped, go see "Crank: High Voltage".
-
Kenny was not kidding about moving down. 3 spots for extra pick is not a bad deal.
-
Did Wings pick?
-
So Ashton or Klingberg for Wings?
-
Looking at their birth dates makes me feel old.
-
Should be done tomorrow. I think other rounds go much faster.
-
I read that Holland is more likely to move down to get more picks in lower rounds.
-
Or Sweden might change colors of their flag.

I guess his parents are Lebanese. He was born in Canada.
