I think hfboards hates wings because of the euro players
Pskov Wings Fan replied to Phazon's topic in General
I am not so sure that deliberately hurting player on the other team is legal. As a side note, I guess "win at all cost" notion exists everywhere, but I find it to be more prominent in North America vs Europe (don't have much experience with other parts of the world to compare). I understand it in business world, but in hockey I would like more sport and less business (wishful thinking, I know). -
Good for Brodeur. I never liked Roy anyway.

Well, one can still hope that game hockey would be somehow better and more honourable than real life. Unfortunately better man (or woman) winning against the cheating opponent is mostly premise of movies. -

On the subject on skill versus toughness I think episode from the 1972 Summit Series would serve as a good illustration. One might consider that Bobby Clarke was showing toughness. I would say it was unsportsmanlike act and got nothing to do with finding out, which team is better at playing hockey. Basically what I am saying is that "toughness" of that sort is just a flavor of cheating. -
Rafalski has a really bad game.

0-8 again?
-
I disagree. Not scoring and taking a game off are different things.
-
I guess being down 7 goals Wings should pull goalie when 7 minutes is left in a game.
-
So basically what he is saying is that AO should be careful because other team might have assholes, who can't take losing. Somehow I don't think AO get the personality to hear this kind of message.
-
I missed the San Jose game, but I sure got to see this one.
-
How about scoring one goal before the end?
-
I think the fans at the soccer games did not find those celebrations stupid. Cherry should have clarifies himself laying Ovechkin out with a clean heat hit one thing, but I am not sure that what he meant.
-
Can Wings just leave now?
-
I can't believe it.
-
I don't think Ovechkin should care about Cherry or anybody else as long as he plays within the rules and scores goals. I bet Washington fans got no problems with his "antics" (actually I don't find his goal celebrations to be that outrages, he jumps against the glass, how is that a problem?). Ovechkin himself said more than once that he welcomes physical play and got nothing against opposition hitting him if they manage to do so. I would say that Cherry is for "good old hockey" as long as it played by "Canadian boys".

I very much prefer to watch hockey on TV screen rather than computer. My main point was that I would like to have a single source for all NHL games and not have to worry all this. I am not sure what NHL is trying to gain by blacking out local games on Center Ice.
-
Not quite true. I have the NHL Center Ice and yet I still had to use atdhe to see games when Wings are playing Wild. Center Ice blacks out local games as well as games, which are on NHL Network, Versus or NBC. NBC is over-the-air, but the rest you have to pay for. I have to desire to subscribe to basic cable just to get Fox Sports and Versus.

They were up 3-0 on Senators in the first and lost 5-3. It was about a week ago.

Penguins fan from the land of Ducks. It does not get any worse.
-
According to the salary chart split is 12-10 in favor of Europeans. Almost 50%. No big names, but almost 50%.
-
Only about half of the Real roster are Spaniards.
-
Both were just too close and could not raise the puck. Nabokov gets the credit for placing pad in the right place, but if puck goes up he probably not going to make those saves.
-
I am with you on this one. Close loses are the worst.
-
I am pretty sure Sharks fans have their own list just as big. Refs were no worse than usual. Wings did not need help losing this one.
