Well, it is one step above missing the net. Moving in the right direction.
-
Who does not?
-
He appears to have hands of stone and he looks unsteady skating.
-
Because on PK it is all they are trying to do. At even strength I guess they are thinking too far ahead about offence and then screw up.
-
It is over.
-
Same here, whenever they show HD I hope it will be so. But no such luck, not even once.
-
Babcock said (shown few minutes ago) that he is no longer sure that Wings are the hardest working team in the NHL. I would have to agree with him.
-
It made sense for a while because they did not really have a player who appeared to be an established leader. But I was hoping they would stick with Koivu and abandon captain-for-month practice.
-
Agreed. Wings got to lose once in a while, but this game was never close after the first goal.
-
In other news Wild and Predators just had 3 fights in a rows.
-
That is the story, scoring chances turning into nothing, not even a shot.
-
At least Chicago already lost today and Nashville is losing to the Wild. So our position in Central is safe.
-
Some of the Wings shots are just as good as the ones Boston scored on
-
Wings look slower than Boston. Not sure it is actual skating speed or just hard work by Boston but Wings are often late to the puck.
-
How about a goal? It can be the ugliest goal ever as long as not Boston goal.
-
This does not look promising, even without Conklin.
-
Good thing you cannot score on a hit but you can if you shoot on goal.
-
I hope Dats walks around Chara in most embarrassing fashion and scores later in this game to pay him back.
-
Congrats to Pavel on his 300th assist in NHL.
-
Hossa finally scores!
-
I was about to write that Columbus blocks a lot of shots when Wings could have used one.
-
Not many chances for the Wings in first. They controlled the play at times but Montreal was more dangerous.
-
While Lemaire might might not know material science his hockey knowledge is exceptional. I would not dismiss his opinion because of kevlar comment. Just looking at games from 80s it is obvious how much bigger goalies are now. And most of the increase in size is equipment.

Since I live in Minnesota I get to see Wild quite a bit. I would disagree about Boogaard. He has improved his skating ability and trying to become Holmstrom-like player for the Wild (he probably does not have the hands for tipping pucks but he can sure screen the goalie). He is also signed through the next season. Boogaard has as many fighting majors as he has assists this year (2).

While Dats and Z are not fighters, they do not need a nanny to look after them. They are quite good at making the other guy miss on the hit or taking the hit without giving the puck away. The game is about scoring goals not winning fights after all.
