Just a piece of news I heard while watching games today. Not sure if it was posted somewhere already. According to Hockey Night in Canada Lidstrom negotiated his latest contract without an agent. It might have saved him more than 150K he gave up.

I am pretty sure I have seen recent interview with Sergei in which he stated that he would like to play couple more seasons. So we got plenty of time before moving on.

Eric Boulton appears to be quite a useless player. He seems to be either injured or scratched about half a season (scratched would be my guess). Plus he was suspended number of times. This guy does not fit with the Wings so much more than Sammy.

Gaborik scores 5 times in rout of Rangers Apparently it did not happen in NHL in more than 10 years. He had a good chance for number 6 during 5 on 3 power play, but Rangers goalie was expecting shot from only one player.

I am not sure, which one is the team to beat in the West this year (other than Wings), but it is not Ducks even with Nidermayer back.

I think Lidstrom made great play poke-checking puck. Whoever was covering late guy (who scored) did not do that good of the job.

I am puzzled by people calling this play a 'hit'. I did not think that goalie in hockey can hit other players. It is either a save or save attempt (depending on your position of it being legal).

Olaf Kolzig, being a goalie, still got the most points among all NHL players from South Africa.
