It's the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association). There a lot of good teams they play, especially in the ACHA Division I. Oakland U has a D2 and D3 team. They can't afford to play in the D1 but they're definitely good enough. I've skated many of the ACHA games...it can be good hockey.

Flyers have been running the NYR all game. Shanahan is out cold on the ice. To be fair..this incident was accidental. Quick update: A Flyer and Shanahan collided mid-ice. Brenden's head bounced off the ice as the helmet slipped down over his forehead. He's being taken out on a stretcher.

I assume he meant Erik Johnson...who has not played in the NHL yet. And yes, he's playing for U-Minn this year, which was his own decision. He had committed to them and wasn't about to back out. I think most recently he has put his chances of going to the NHL next year at 60/40 in the affirmative.

The Flyers have been insanely physical...and having Shanahan and/or Avery out there has done absolutely nothing to deter it from happening.

Eklund has the Gerber signing at an E4, which on his 5 point rating scale, essentially means the name just needs to be signed (an e5 is a done deal, just waiting for official announcement)

The Colorado Avalanche are pushing hard for Parrish at this hour. The Red Wings are interested in Brad Lukowich or Luke Richardson Witt may come down to NJ or Nashville today. The Rangers are in the Derek Morris Sweeps and are looking for a puck moving defenseman. The Bruins may move Leetch and the Predators and Flyers are possibilities. The Red Wings are looking at Samsonov. more as it develops..
