GREAT! He EARNED it then didn't he? Probably after working hard in practice, impressing the coach and players and got his shot. We get it, you like him, we all have our favs, but nobody on the team did it without working hard. Ellis didn't cry and say I won't play in GR. Meeks isn't crying (that we know of) People don't seem to being take larger cheap shots on our stars because of Downy and Drake. We've all heard how good Grigs could be, now it's up to him to show us. As the current captain said "As with any rookie, you have to prove yourself to the team, coaches and management," Lidstrom said. "He has to work hard, that's what the other young players have been doing. He has to show he belongs here." http://www.detroitnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...1128/SPORTS0103

should have told them sure AT DOUBLE TIME. but make sure you get it in writing.

Yes he was given 10% to live, However he shouldn't think that everything will be given to him. I know it takes time, but if you're too spoiled to work hard (ie in the minors) then you shouldn't be given a shot. He was sent to the minors in Russia, worked hard and made it back to the Super Ellite team. He must do that here too. Ellis has worked hard in the minors, through camp and now is having his shot.

When he screws up the next contract and the owners start losing money, he'll be out. Or start the rumor that attendence is down because of him.

When you win, he has to take you to Hockey Town authentics, Buy a nice red wing shirt for you and him, take a picture, then he has to take you to dinner at Hockey Town Cafe. Take pictures, finally he has to go to JLA and have a picture taken in front of the Gordie Howe entrence stating Yzerman is the best and he is no longer a Vancouver fan. If for some reason we lose. He can have what ever he wants off the dollar menu from McDonalds because Vancouver just got luckey and since they really do suck they're only worth a dollar.

I love it! There is so much passion for our wings that you all are fighting over a spoiled brat. (Throwing hat into fight) "If you don't play me, I'm going home." come on! We are having enough time finding the right combos with the guys we have. Let him go. They younger guys we have now are working hard for their spot.

They can't give it to him every game, they have to spread it out or no one would play. -

ALLEN PARK -- For the second time in three games this season, the Detroit Lions have gotten an extension from the NFL to get a sellout for a home game in order to lift the blackout for local television. The NFL gave the Lions a 24-hour extension Thursday, with what a team official said was "several hundred" tickets unsold for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay at Ford Field. The tickets must be sold by 1 p.m. Friday to lift the blackout. The Lions also needed a 24-hour extension for the home opener against Minnesota. The regular limit is 72 hours before kickoff. I know it's the lions, but hey someone better push the panic button

I know there's a post futher down, so if you want to combine them go ahead. I just thought this was important compaired to the fighting going on in that post. From the freepress: http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article.../710180484/1053 With prospect Igor Grigorenko slated to return next week, the question remains where he will fit. "If he can win a job, he can win a job," Babcock said. "If he can't, he can't." If Grigorenko, whose poor conditioning got him sent to Grand Rapids at the end of the exhibition season, doesn't win a job, he can go back to Russia, at which point general manager Ken Holland expects he'll stay there for good.
