ok, I'm sorry, but I thought of this and I have to share. Samuelson reminds me of the kid we all knew in junior high that was bad at sports and was trying to learn how to play basketball in gym. Every time he got the ball he'd kind of panic and just automatically shoot whether he was covered or not, and whether he knew where the basket was or not. Anyone else see that? Sorry to add another Sammy bash

I remember That Nash goal...wow. I don't think I'm an atheist anymore.

"Forsberg said he plans on testing his foot on skates in a few days and is "very hopeful" of a successful comeback." "I will play for a while. It would certainly be (with) one of the top clubs and one I feel can be a Stanley Cup-contender. The Stanley Cup has always been my goal." http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=337223 Swedish 8 ? (or 9 when we sign Sundin, too)

HAHA! I love the props to Mickey

I read somewhere that Floppa was likely to sign only if he could get a long-term deal. No way Kenny goes for that. He put the kabosh on Bert for only a 2-yr deal. The only way Floppa lands in Detroit is if he agrees to some kind of time-reward incentive- laden contract (i.e. if we win cup he gets a 3 yr deal) AND he does it on the serious cheap (due to upcoming signings for Flipper, Cleary and Hank). The way he talks, too, it basically sounds like he thinks he's going to pick and choose where he goes, when he goes and the terms of his going there. Basically, ain't gonna happen in Detroit. But if it did....schweet.

I hear ya, but I just found this on Spector... BURKE NOT TALKING TO LEAFS ABOUT SUNDIN. THE GLOBE & MAIL: David Shoalts yesterday reported Anaheim Ducks GM Brian Burke dismissed speculation that he might be interested in acquiring Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin. Burke said he's had no talks with Leafs management and noted he already has a number one centre in Ryan Getzlaf. Spector's Note: Burke might've been interested a year ago before Getzlaf blossomed into a star, particularly during last spring's Stanley Cup run. He's not interested now. Since it's Burke, a grain of salt is called for...perhaps the whole shaker.

Just curious, I heard on the Chelios report with WCSX's JJ and Lynne that Boston Legal made reference to Cheli in the show. Anyone know what that was about? Here's a link to the Chelios Report: http://gdrg.net/WCSX/2008_01cheli1-8.mp3 The only thing that came up on google was someone else saying that they'd .... Oh, nevermind, answered my own question. Here it is: "On last week’s “Boston Legal†on ABC, the characters played by James Spader and William Shatner wanted to volunteer for the National Guard but were rebuffed because the cutoff age was 42. To which Spader’s character replied: “Chris Chelios is 45 and still playing in the NHL.†A nice plug for the former UW-Madison athlete who, by the way, turns 46 next month." Watching the Wings is like listening to a beautiful orchestra with Samuelson's play being one violin out of tune. Everything is going along like a symphony and then "wraaank" there's a dumb shot, or "squeeek" blue line bobble. Consider that Samuelson's role, or niche, is very similar to Hull's or Shanny's and then compare him to them. You could forgive them for their bloopers because they'd score gwg's when you needed them. In this light Sammy's best attribute is that he's relatively cheap. Oh, and in our list of previously bashed I want to invoke my personal favorite: Jason Williams. Gawd he drove me nuts.
