That's what I thought personally. I've seen Hartigan play, and he is physical down in the corners. That's a good asset the Wings could sure use more of. Plus, he has the most NHL expierence of anyone in the group of recent signings for GR.
-
So... the rumors are true... Cullen played with Carolina before and helped them, and unless they change their system completely, should help them again. He just wasn't fitting in with the Rags, for who knows what reason.
-
Exactly. And that happened back when Niinimaa was still a half-way decent defenseman.
-
Lang will produce if he plays with Havlat. Most players will.
-
Sens got themselves a steal here. Donovan is way better than Schaefer. Guess Murray isn't such a bad GM after all.

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2007/07/re...is_announc.html In other words, another GR signing. Also notice two new names on there mentioned as signed: Randall Gelech and Garrett Stafford. Never heard of either of them, so it looks like more GR signings.
-
They won't though. Gomez sucks, and they have no defense.
-
Ah well, it was close to the same thing. Thanks for the clarification.

Elkund says these players are on the Detroit radar.

Hey, it's true. On an overall scale, I'd much rather have Ekman and Niinimaa over Samulesson and Lilja. If those two were the only ones I could have instead. Obviously if I had my own choice, I'd choose someone else. -
I know it is! 3 scrubs and a low round draft pick for one of the games top power forwards (Horton) and a very good defenseman (Van Ryn). I mean, if I can do it, Ken Holland sure can! Come on Kenny! Start manding those phones!!!!!!!1

Yesterday on my PS2 I traded Hudler, Kopecky, Lilja, and a draft pick to Florida for Nathan Horton and Mike Van Ryn. You know, because that's a very realistic trade.

Niinimaa will be heading back to Europe. Don't believe the rumors Eklund made about him coming here. He isn't exactly what the Wings need at this point, and his game has been in sharp decline. I'm most interested in O'Neill. A gritty, scoring, right handed winger makes perfect sense for the Wings. Obviously his game has been on the decline due to the death of his brother, and he has that fear of flying, but I'd still love to see him here. He's exactly what the Wings need. Here are the other names that interest me: Martin Gelinas, Adam Hall, Eric Lindros (for a cheap, incentive laden contract), Mike Peca, Jeff Friesen, and Josef Vasicek. All of these guys are perfectly capable top 6 forwards (Hall is a bit iffy, but he can still score 15-20 goals), and would fit nicely here. As for defenseman, Andy Sutton is the only name that truly interests me. That, or re-sign Markov to an accetable deal, and not what he's asking for now.

Markov is the only one who interests me. I never liked Peter Forsberg, for obvious reasons. The man is a tool, with his constant diving and s***. That said, if he wanted to play here for the right price, I wouldn't say no. He might fit here. McCarty is a dinosaur, and there are far better players who can play his role still left in free agency. Plus, we just signed Dallas Drake. No need for McCarty. Niinimaa used to be a really good defenseman for the Oilers, but he's really sucked lately, especially last year in Montreal. Besides, we need physical defenseman, and Niinimaa is not that type of player. If the market dries up and he's still left, than maybe it could be considered. He's still probably better than Lilja. Ekman is the perfect example of what the Wings do not need. A small, European forward who does not have any grit at all. He had some good seasons under his belt in San Jose, but I still do not want him. Unless Samulesson was dumped in the process, since Ekman is better than Samulesson. The last two names were more or less pulled out of Eklunds ass (surprise surprise). I don't know how he comes up with Niinimaa and Ekman, though it does make sense in some cases: They are both "Ken Holland" type players, meaning their both small, offensive minded Europeans. -
Well, for one thing, he probably wouldn't want to do that.

It's simple: The Red Wings are just plain awesome.

I could have crayon drew a better graphic then that. That's just plain bad. The Wings markating staff in general must be a bunch of 70 year old's that were Illitchs drinking buddies back many moons ago. I swear, some of the stuff they come up with airs on the true definition of lame. The slogan is actually not terrible, but it could be better. My main problem is the graphic. Ugh.

You probably don't have the proper plugins for Mozilla Firefox. I have the same problem myself. Mostly, if I watch any videos on the internet, I just use IE, since on my computer it comes with all the plugins. I don't use it on a regular basis though because IE generally sucks.

Himelfarb signed a contract with Lausanne in Switzerland. He will not be on the Griffins next season, at least not at this point. Just as well. A 5'9 center who can't put up points on a regular basis, nor is a physical player by any means, isn't much of a loss in my opinion.
-
He's still a player than McCarty, and a better fighter than anyone on the current Wings team.
-
Now that is a sentiment I can agree with. Low is a good fighter, Lou. Plus, he's 6'4. Why single him out?

Pearl Jam and Soundgarden - Hunger Strike

Vaananen was a +6 on a non-playoff team last year. Obviously he was doing something right. He isn't that bad in the defensive zone as much as people say. His only problem is he's a bad skater. That, and has no offensive ability at all.

Thank you. Last year at the start, Babcock actually had Zetterberg on the same line as Draper, thinking he could Draper to score goals. That just proves that Zetterberg, for as talented as he is, cannot make anyone at anytime a top 6 forward. This is why they shouldn't be broken up.
