Hey, Ken Holland's a businessman. Memo's are his laungage. Anything outside of that might be considered too personal, and he'll probably s*** himself.
-
I was watching TBS before I came on here. Don't know if you get it in Canada, but it's a comedy station based out of Atlanta. Hey, they have Seinfeld, so that's enough for me!
-
See, I think this was a joke placed out around by some disgruntled Lions fan (take your pick of the million or so). Kitna can't be that stupid to actually think with himself as the QB that the Lions will manage anything over 4 wins. Either that, or he's pulling a Janne Niinimaa "We will win" type of thing, only to have it blow up in his face next season. Sorry, but I'd be very surprised if the Lions were capable of anything higher then 4 or 5 wins next season.

Besides Canada, what country produces the best hockey players?
Kp-Wings replied to a topic in General
Sweden. They've really put fourth some good talent over the last 10 or so years. -
That was a perfectly timed pun on that. I don't know how you do it.

Soundgarden - The Day I Tried to Live

I love your new signature. I'll plan on adding something similar to that.

vangvace, your sig speaks so much truth. Mind if I copy it onto a memo and send it to Ken Holland?
-
I'd rather see the Leafs be more successful then Carolina! Call me a traditionalist in this situation, but that's how I feel. That's true, but considering almost 90% of people who go to Leafs games are from corperate companies and wear a suit and tie, I don't think the true fans are at fault here.

It's the opposite Harold! e5 is the kiss of death. Everytime he gives something an e5, it never happens. Examples: Bill Guerin to Detroit, Ryan Smyth to re-sign in Edmonton. That sort of thing.
-
I've noticed this a lot also. Which I still can't imagine why Holland won't sign someone like Arron Asham or Adam Hall. Those are Babcock type players.
-
Did I ever say Asham would fix all the problems? No I didn't. Please find where I did. Some of you guys like being ass bags yourself just so you can get a few laughs from other members. Your entire post was so far off base. But yet, what can I expect from a Ken Holland slappie himself?
-
Agreed very much. Especially on the last part. I know you all think I'm some kind of idiot for hoping for more fighters, but as a kid that grew up watching Probert/Kocur/McCarty naturally I like fighting. It stinks not having a single guy on the Wings even willing to do that anymore.
-
Scratch Fedorov and I don't mind that plan too much. Well, I have to say, I'm not really all that big on O'Neill either. His fear of flying, declining play, and sometimes laziness is a turnoff. But, he is a scoring winger, and has put up solid numbers before. It just depends on a number of factors I guess. I would love Adam Hall here, but because he isn't the fabled top 6 winger that everyone wants I'll get my head chewed off for suggesting so.
-
Oh, and how do you think Hasek felt about all that? Sure, he didn't say anything, but I'm sure he wasn't happy about being ran at and not having anyone on the team do a single thing about it. But whatever. You seem to think this team is perfectly fine, as is.
-
You could also make the argument that San Jose looked lost in that series and barely even tried. I'm not going to take anything away from the Wings during the playoffs, since they showed me something I haven't seen in a Red Wings team since our last Cup win. But if we're going to be relying on Lilja to be our tough guy, then there are some problems.
-
And what? Let the Wings be pushed around again next season like they did last year? I remember you said it yourself: Far too many teams take liberties against the Wings. I'm not saying Arron Asham and Brad Winchester will stop that from happening, since they won't. But at least if they were signed, the Wings would have someone who is going to drop the gloves if these guys do something stupid. Perfect example: Ryan Johnson on St. Louis running Hasek last year. It was at that moment, when the Wings did basically nothing about it, that I concluded that this team was probably full of the biggest ******* I've ever seen in my life. Not a single person went up to Johnson. It was ridiculous. I'm not saying Asham and Winchester will stop this from happening, since they won't. But if they, or someone else who isn't afraid to drop the gloves, were on this team Ryan Johnson would have gotten what was coming to him. Because they weren't though, nothing was ever done about it. Pathetic.

The fact that Eklund lives in Philly and the fact that the Flyers are his favorite team makes this nothing more then something he'd want to see. He has no actual confermation to Selanne going there (yeah, I was surprised too). I'm just a little shocked he'd didn't say "Selanne to Philly. Sounds like an e5 to me!!!!!!1" That's usually what makes or breaks a deal in his case.
-
The fact that he thinks a useless scrub like Kopecky is a better player and a better fit for this team means he has failed. Oh wait, I couldn't have expected anything else from Holland. Winchester is gritty and Kopecky isn't. That makes Kopecky a perfect fit here! /sarcasm

Just what I was thinking!
-
Clemmensen is a true backup. Something is definitly up with Raycroft. That will probably go down as the worst trade (or one of them anyways) for Toronto. They gave up Tukka Rask, who is the best goalie in the world outside of the NHL, for Raycroft, who they will probably be trading now. I feel for the fans of that team, since it must be hard to put up with that.
-
Holland is a moron. I can already see these players he's negotiating with are going to be some useless, non-gritty scrub centers. Like a Greg Johnson type signing. Holland's baseball comment was just plain stupid. This team doesn't have any toughness (ok, they have some, but it's very depleted). Why is he so blind to this issue? Why? I don't get it. For him being such a great GM like people always say, he sure has a hard time filling the biggest hole the Wings have had since the lockout ended. God damn it.
-
******* bulls***. Way to drop the ball again Holland. You're a God damn joke. If you think Tomas Kopecky is a better player, you need to be shot in the ass. Ugh, this angers me on so many levels.
