    Grigorenko Interview

Is he physical (judging by what he said)? I certainly hope that, at this point, the Wings get rid of Hudler and Samulesson. You know, as I've said, I'm not anti-Euro. But if all these guys stay, the Wings will have only 3 North American forwards on the team. I do not like the sound of that, and all this "Soft, old, European" media bulls*** that went on last year will continue this year. It really gets annoying after a while.

    Why does Detroit keep Osgood?

You are relentless with the Berkhoel signing. And this is before the guy even played a single game in a Red Wings jersey! Goalies are like diapers here in Detroit. They are changed often, and for the same reason.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

Yes. He has a heart condition that puts him at risk if he continues to play.

Why not Cleary on the top two lines?

One 20 goal season doesn't make Cleary a 2nd line player. That's not a stab at him or anything, since I love Cleary. But he isn't a top line player. I really think he's more comfertable playing on the 3rd line, and providing offense from there anyways. That's where he played during the playoffs, and was great. I don't think that should be disrupted.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

Greg Johnson is still under contract, even though he has retired. That is why the roster still has him listed. He isn't going to come back and play next season, so don't worry about that.

    What about Nils Ekman?

I request that this post be archived. Everyone all thinks we're idiots for always talking about the size factor, and the immidiate thought is BRAD NORTON SUKZ!!!!!!!11one!!!1 It's a real issue that needs to be dealt with. This is why Arron Asham would be perfect here. I know, one player won't fix everything. But it will be a step up from what we had.

    Hnidy a Wing?

I was thinking the same thing! Seinfeld is relatable to real life matters in so many ways. I was getting excited there, since you all know Hnidy is my kind of player. He would have been an excellent replacement for Markov, and he also fights at the same time (big plus!). But, it looks like Kenny let another one get away. He needs a new fishing pole for free agency, since the one he's using isn't catching the big fish. He's sticking to guppies, when I'd much rather see him land a sturgeon! Still though, it hasn't been officially confirmed. Even though I still think it has happened anyways. So, I'm going to stick to this Seinfeld quote on the situation: "It's not a lie, if you believe it"

If You Were Ken Holland This Off-Season?

10? I'd go more like 3, with Darcy Tucker, Nathan Horton, and Raffi Torres. Maybe 4 or 5 if you want to include Scott Hartnell or Jason Arnott.

    What happened to Langfeld

We traded him to the Iserlohn Roosters in Germany for a bag of pucks and a gift card to a fine German restaurant.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

Manny had the Wings in front of him, and that made no difference in him getting exposed in the playoffs. Raycroft has played in the playoffs once, and his team was on the receiving end of a major upset (Montreal over Boston in 2004). That doesn't bode too well for his future.

    Hnidy a Wing?

There's no official confermation. I don't get what Brian Burke's problem is. He must have it in for Holland. He is currently ass licking him a new one during free agency this year.

There's only one problem: He doesn't want to play here.

    Devils land Souray

...and the last big name is gone... The Devils had to land somebody, especially a defenseman, after losing Rafalski. Souray should help provide offense to that staggaring team, even if he is a pylon. Good signing I guess.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

As was you're favorite signing, right Cap'n OsGOD?

    Raycroft to Detroit?

The only possible intangible I can think of is Raycroft won the Calder Trophy during the 2003-2004 season. Keep in mind there wasn't a very good rookie class that season. I can't remember who even challeneged him for it. I think Alex Semin was the only one to come close, and he didn't even play a full season that year. I've began to lost faith in Holland for his lack of replacing the lost grit over the years. But since his other signings were good, I kind of pushed it aside. But if Holland had that bad of judgement to sign Raycroft... ugh, I'm at a lose for words to even describe it.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

I might have overeacted a bit, but still. Raycroft is a joke. He really is. I could not imagine a very bright future for this team contending for the Cup with Raycroft between the pipes. He's that bad.

    Rivalry Between Ducks and Wings

Exactly. I would be surprised if Bertuzzi can manage to even play 10 games with his injuries. He's become a major puss.

    Raycroft to Detroit?

If Holland signed Raycroft, I will become a Rangers fan. It will piss me off that much that I will not be able to even watch this team next season.

    Glen Murray

I never said I wanted Comrie on this team. The last thing the Wings need is another small center. I know you're looking at the glass half-full, but I just cannot stand Yashin. I never liked him for what he did in Ottawa during the 1999-2000 season by sitting out an entire season just because the management wouldn't throw in a couple more 0's on his paycheck. The fact we also got rid of Lang finally means we have been freed of an extremely lazy second line center. Why bother bringing in another one? I don't get it. Yashin would be no different then Lang. He's a player with a lot of talent, but doesn't utilize it all. And unlike Lang, Yashin can't even score in the playoffs. At least with Lang, you got his clutch goals. Yashin wouldn't even provide that. If Holland signs Yashin to a contract worth anything over 1 million a season, I will lose all faith in this team. Yashin might be a decent option for less then 1 million, but not anything more.

Toskala signs to a two-year extension with Leafs

JFJ's critics are having a party over this one. I think the Raycroft rumors really are true. If he did indeed have a future in Toronto, they wouldn't have already given Toskala an extension. Raycroft isn't really backup suited anyways. They can always just re-sign J.S. Aubin for that role, who's plenty capable. I just hope the part of the rumors about him coming here aren't true. I hate Raycroft. He's an awful goalie, and for the entire season last year he blamed the fans for his downfall. He's not man enough to live up the fact he played a bad game, so he blames the fans. Ugh.
  23. Kp-Wings

    Glen Murray

Oh please. Even if he does have something to prove, Yashin doesn't have the motivation or desire to do anything about it. He's in this league simpily to collect his paycheck. I honestly can't believe Yashin's childhood hero was Brian Trottier, considering when you look at those two and compare, it's so different for both of them. On topic: Glen Murray has already been thrown around a bunch of times, and he's not worth it. He's soft as a pilllow for being 6'3, and his age, injury history, and declining production are all problems he comes with. He isn't worth the money.

If You Were Ken Holland This Off-Season?

Exactly what I'm saying. Kopecky hasn't done anything noteworthy to earn himself a roster spot on this team. Someone like Arron Asham or Jason Weimer would be so much more valuable. If Holland manages to drop off these scrubs like Hudler and Samulesson, signs some toughness like Asham, then it's fine by me that Kopecky plays. He is 6'3, so that's always a plus. But still, I don't want to sacriftice potential toughness in Asham for a big guy like Kopecky that doesn't use his size. The best situation is like I said: Dump Hudler and Samulesson. That's two extra roster spots. Put Asham in one of them, and if there are no other good signings for toughness in free agency, then you can throw Kopecky in there. Otherwise, he sits. That's my view of it. The Wings should not snub off these tougher players like Asham for Kopecky, who hasn't done anything to prove himself. Markov rejected a contract offer from the Wings. Since it's apparent he brings in the classic "Greedy Russian" montra, he'll be gone.

    Fedotenko > islanders

Any team willing to give Lang 4 million a season is by far the stupidest team in the league. The 'Hawks are by far the worse organization. I can go into how bad of ownership they have, from outrageous ticket prices to blacking out home games on TV, to failing to even attempt to build a playoff contending team year after year after year. The Islanders aren't exactly smart either, but since Milbury has left, it hasn't been quite as bad. At least their ticket prices are affordable, and they broadcast home games on TV.
