    May a duck

Yep, definitly. Asham is pretty decent offensivly, as well as adding toughness. I really don't think Shawn Thornton is that bad of a player other then fighting, but given Hollands track record, he won't sign a one-dimensional enforcer like Thornton. I like Shawn Thornton a lot, but I just don't think Holland would sign him. Who's to say though? If Holland believes a useless scrub like Langfeld was worth signing, then Thornton should definitly get a chance!

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

Are you saying Yzerman, Bowman, Nill, and Devellano are all wrong and don't know what their talking about? Please tell me you're not. Holland isn't the only decision maker. Obviously someone else felt Bertuzzi isn't worth 4-5 million a season. And I agree with them too, because he's not.

    What now?

Saprykin is way better then Hudler. Hudler may be able to put up better numbers, but Saprykin, if played with the right people, can put up pretty decent numbers too. He's also much bigger then Hudler, and is a good forechecker. I really think you're going off here because Saprykin is a Russian. He's not a typical Russian though, since he does play physical down low. He has scoring potential too. Maybe not as much as Hudler, but he still does. Obviously Saprykin wouldn't be my first choice, since you know me well enough that Arron Asham would be my first choice. Still though, I wouldn't be mad if Holland signed Saprykin. He played very good in the playoffs for Ottawa this year.

He was a free agent? Damn it! Kenny, you missed out again! I don't know though. Thornton is pretty one-dimensional. Still, he's way better then Brad Norton, and if Norton was able to be given a chance here, so should Thornton!

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

I really doubt he is back to being fully fit. He hurt his back (again) in the Anaheim series, even though he didn't miss any games.

You're forgetting that this is where Arron Asham would come in handy. I wish anyways.

    Garon to the Oil

He'll probably go back to Finland or Russia. I don't understand why he could never make it in the NHL. He was a record setting goalie in the Russian Super League. Of course, that's also a very defensive minded league, but still.

You should be shot for even suggesting that. Fedoruk not so much, since he's become a pretty lame ass fighter lately. But I will be so pissed if Holland doesn't get Asham. Sign him now Kenny!

    Garon to the Oil

He's the new backup, since Jussi Markannen is gone.

I would have rather seen him sign here. I know a lot of people hate May, but I love the guy. It's good to see him resurecting his career too, since I thought after that year in Colorado he would be done.

    What now?

Give me a break. Just because these guys are former Wings doesn't mean their worth anything. Shanahan is useless in the playoffs, and doesn't want to play here anyways. Why even suggest him? It would be taking 300 steps back by signing him.

ZUBRUS with the devils 6 yr deal

I think he was reading Ken Hodge's article on TSN. He also thought the same thing.

May wouldn't have asked for that much. Even if Selanne and Niedermayer would have stayed. ...and which Belanger are you talking about? Eric Belanger? I know there is more then one Belanger in the league, even though I don't think any of them are related.

    Bertuzzi a Duck: 2-Years, $8M

He hasn't been that player in nearly 4 years though. You'd think Lidstrom was leaving Detroit with the way everyone is reacting. Honestly, what is the big deal? Bertuzzi sucked when he was here. I just denied it at the time, since I thought having a full season under his belt could get him to get his s*** together. But since he decided to abandon us for a nicer salary, then all I say is screw him. He wasn't worth what he got. Simple as that.

Who is next to sign with Detroit?

Oh please. Classic bulls*** trade at it's finest.

Who is next to sign with Detroit?

Yes, he has been rumored to be moved. That's exactly why I mentioned his name. He'd be a great fit here, since he's gritty and can score goals. Phoenix still plans on keeping him.

    Bruins looking to dump salary

Hate to break it to you, but Mike O'Connell is no longer the GM of the Bruins. The trade jokes are bit prehistoric at this point.

    Peter Forsberg

Yeah, since then it's been his back and his wrist. He's a vegetable now. Of course, you'll see someone on these forums suggest that the Wings go out and sign him. Given the fact that he's been rumored to come to Detroit since 2001, it wouldn't surprise me. I still wouldn't like the deal though, unless his 10 games of good play come during the playoffs.

    Peter Forsberg

You got a good 10 games out of him. That's what is usually part of the deal wherever he signs.
  20. Kp-Wings

Who is next to sign with Detroit?

Like for who? Unless you mean Raffi Torres (love to have him here by the way ), I see no one who is rumored to be moved that would help the Wings. Don't say Glen Murray either.

    Bruins looking to dump salary

Regardless, he isn't what the Wings need. If we want to sign guys that don't use their size, Eric Daze is also out there. ...and it isn't just because he is big but doesn't use his size. The fact that he has injury problems the past few years, declining production, and a big contract are all downsizes to having him here. It's a risk, and one that's not worth taking.

    What now?

I have highlighted the names who are actually worth anything. As you can see, that's 3 out of 10. Schneider doesn't count, since Rafalski is a more then capable replacement. Bertuzzi is the biggest lose, and even that is small, considering he didn't do dick in his short time here. Markov being gone has the grit level go down, which is always a blow to this team, since that's always welcome. Calder was a hard worker, and I liked him here. The others are all either useless AHL scrubs or people who can't crack the Wings lineup, but might somewhere else. You'll also notice I removed Meech and Hasek. Meech is still under contract. And Hasek is pretty a given to re-sign. So they have been taken off.

    Bruins looking to dump salary

Murray is about 5 years past his prime. I like the Lang comparison there. He is lazy, and doesn't use his good size at all. Cope that with his injury history, and it's a recipe for disaster. I'll give this one a big, resounding "no".

    Let the Kids Play

Filppula and Kopecky are fine by me. Hudler should go sign in Russia or be traded for a conditional draft pick. As a fan of tough players/fighters, it's my natural instinct to like players with more size. Hudler's 5'8 or whatever the hell he is doesn't cut it in my book. Now that Bertuzzi is gone, it's time to fill the void that he leaves behind. Hudler will not do that.
