WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Cup is back in Hockeytown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on an excellent playoff run boys! Let's take the Cup on home! -
Yes, no doubt at all. He's an excellent young hockey player that's really proven his worth.
-
Zetterberg is so amazing in everything he does. I honestly don't understand why he isn't given more credit, or marketed more. The guy is absolutley phenominal. His work on the PK tonight, among other things, just proves what an amazing talent he is. It's really a thing of beauty to watch him play every night. He is such a great player in every standpoint of the game. Crosby isn't even in the same league as him. You really can't compare the two anymore; Zetterberg is such a better all around player. Nice sig. Are you a fan of my work?
-
Wow, never heard about that. Must be something in the water in Pittsburgh.
-
So, does that mean I'm lazy and I suck™ now?
-
The Wings should get more obstruction penalties because Crosby now owns a 95% share of the NHL, and demands it be done.
-
Sorry, didn't know you meant this season. edit: There's a part of me that feels stupid for not saying 1997 as well in my first post. Bleh.
-
Crosby is lazy and he sucks™
-
Stuart must be re-signed. Give him a 3-5 year contract; he's well worth it.
-
Wow, some captain Crosby is. Instead of being a man and taking accontability for him/his team playing badly, he blames the reffing and the Wings player diving. What a f***ing loser.
-
The guys who retaliated were Europeans. Do you really expect that Grapes will give them any credit? Heh, for all we know, he didn't even see it happen. He's blind when it comes to Europeans. Case and Point: he has never once referred to Anton Volchenkov of the Ottawa Senators by his actual name; he referrs to him as "the Russian guy". Yet, Volchenkov is Ottawa's toughest player behind only Neil and McGrattan. The guy just plain and simpily hates Europeans; he will never give them any credit. I think it's about time you guys get used to that, because that's the way things will be. It's like asking a St. Louis Blues fan to give the Wings credit, and say their a good team: it's never going to happen. Grapes is an old man anyways; I honestly don't see why his approval is so important to everyone. The guys a dinosaur; in a few years, he'll be out of the loop for good.

Let's instead count how many times Eddie Olczyk alone talks about Crosby. That amount could exceed anyone elses quota.
-
Now we know where Crosby picked up his amazing whining ability from. Or, it's the other way around. Either way, Pittsburgh must be running on low on diapers, what with all the babies that live in that city.
-
If you consider those pathetic excuse for highlights (about two 5-second clips), followed by a 10 minute rant on how much the NHL and hockey sucks, then yes, I guess they do cover hockey.

Of course the ratings are up. This is the first time in 4 years that the SCF hasn't been an almost extremely predictable matchup of a sunbelt team vs. small market Canadian team matchup (well, technically, it's only been 3 years because of the lockout, but the 2002-2003 SCF was a ratings nightmare as well, because New Jersey is certainly no draw, and I think Anaheim speaks for itself). Deep south teams are never going to get big ratings; they are smaller cities, for one thing, and the hockey following down there is very weak. As far as Canadian teams go, they don't get Vs. in Canada; they watch CBC or TSN. So that's a whole team with a fanbase who's not bringing in the ratings (unless any of them live in the US, which in the case of a team like Edmonton or Ottawa, isn't very likely). This years SCF is the best thing to happen to the NHL in a long time; two big market teams with a long history of success, and genuine talented players to market.

Since Franzen is (probably) going back in, it's time for Chelios to come back as well, since there will be line changes and all. I know we've won the last two games, but even despite that, my heart almost stops every time I see Lilja on the ice. As bad as Chelios has been, he's still better than Lilja (plus I like him a lot more. Call it biased, if you must).

St. Louis will win a Stanley Cup before Morozov returns to the NHL. He has his priorities set, and has for a long time. I'd be very surprised to see him ever come back.
-
You're right, he's not whining. Sid does all the whining instead.

It's funny how the media (well, more specifically, the hockey media) tries to paint Detroit fans as the worst fans in the world for not selling out every meaningless game (take note: a Monday night matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets will not get a sellout from ANY team, unless it's free ticket night, or you get the bandwagon fans in a city like, say, Buffalo who have nothing to do). When it comes right down to it, though, Detroit fans are far and away the best, and most passionate fans of any city in the entire country. Nobody else even comes close; say what you want about Boston, Detroit fans are still miles away better, when it comes to every sport. Hockey, baseball, football, basketball, college, etc. The fans in Detroit care and support about all their sports team, and that's what makes us the best around. Media bigwigs in the hockey world can try and steal the "Hockeytown" title from us all they want, but keep in mind that the cities they want to give it to haven't won a damn thing in their entire existance. Teams like Minnesota and Buffalo, who are the supposed new suitors to the title, have never won the Cup in their entire history, and both have only been to a Cup final three times all together (and for Minnesota, you have to go back to when they were the North Stars). Having "Hockeytown" as a title does not just go to the team having the loudest fans; it goes to a team/city that has also won Championship's, and demonstrated the ability to be successful and do whatever it takes to win. If we're going to now only base that title off of having loud fans, then I guess San Jose and Atlanta should also be in the front running for being the next "Hockeytown". Detroit fans are the best, no matter what sport you're talking about. Nobody in the entire country cares and supports their sports teams as good as Detroit fans do.

Since when does ESPN cover hockey?

This means no sellout!!1!1
