No. While I actually don't mind the prospect of having a dirty little ***** on the team to piss the opposition off, we might as well sign Ville Niemenen for that. Forsberg, if healthy, is a great player. But the fact that he basically has a glass foot now is enough to say no.

The world is in a frenzy! Novotny has potential. That isn't going to get Columbus into the playoffs though. They need immediate help for that, not someone who could help 5 years down the line. Oh well. It's still a decent move. He should be good for them in the future.

I think every team is supposed to be changed their official site. Nevertheless, the Wings official site blows ass. They almost never update it at all, and it looks like a patchwork doll the way it's put together. I hardly ever look at it. Edit: Note that I have yet to see the new version. I'm going off of how it used to be.

Maybe not overated. But he is definitly overpaid. Not saying I wouldn't want him in Detroit, as here he would probably be great, but the chances are not that good.
-
Agreed. Fedoruk has been getting his ass kicked since that whole bout with Eric Cairns a few years ago. He started to return to form during the 2005-2006 season, but last year he was just plain brutal. I don't even think he won a single fight, and if he did, it must have been minor.
-
Yes I have watched them. Elias is overated and overpaid. Gionta was good last year, but took a major step back this year. If these guys are so good, then why is it that every year, the story of the New Jersey Devils is that they can't score goals? Maybe on another team both Elias and Gionta could become star players. But they will never be that on the Devils.
-
Yes, he should get it. Kopecky can have #82. See, everyone wins!
-
Matt Cooke? Oh would I love to see the Cooker here in Detroit! Sadly though, that's a real longshot to get him. Ridiculous trade preposal time! Hudler, Meech or Kronwall, and a draft pickfor Matt Cooke and a draft pick. Discuss!
-
Lucious Lou still hasn't learned from the Malakhov/Mogilny/McGillis signings, has he? 6 years is a lot to invest in a guy that is totally unproven while not playing with Ovechkin. New Jersey doesn't have any true offensivily savvy guys anyways (sorry Elias and Gionta), so I don't know who they are going to use as Zubrus' set up man. He clearly can't do it himself.

Those Canadians and their weird spelled names. I also noticed I spelled "sea" wrong and put "see" instead. I've been really off on my first day back.
-
That's not what you implied initially. I would love Asham on this team. Damn it Kenny! Sign him now!
-
Damnit. Guess I need to find a new avatar now. Oh well. I loved Isbister, but there's still other fish in the see. *coughAaronAshamcough*

You got a better idea, smartass?

Wasn't this whole "step back" supposed to happen 2 years ago? God damn it. Bertuzzi is not going to make or break this team. Stop ruffleing you're feathers because the Wings lost him. He played a grand total of 15 games last season. My prediction is he'll play 8 next season. All of you guys can piss off. Everybody on this board and their grandmothers hated Schneider during the season, and now those same people think it was a mistake losing him. Holland goes out and signs a better replacenment in Brian Rafalski, and nobody hardly says a thing. Everybody is so focused on losing Schneider, who is older and not as good as Rafalski. And then we lost Bertuzzi, and you all are ready to throw in the towel. Ridiculous. ******* God damn ridiculous. As I said, all of you can piss off. People who should be mad are Sabres, Devils, and Islanders fans. Wings fans should not though. But hey, this is the same thing every year. I'm talking to the wall basically.

Bring in Aaron Asham instead. PULL THE TRIGGER KENNY!!!!!!!!!!11

10 million a season is a joke. Hello Alexei Yashin part deux. Although, I like that the big market teams are breaking the bank again, just like the good old days before the salary cap. Suck on that you bastard small market teams!

Roenick would come here based off of two things: 1. Chelios put in a good word for him, since their both good friends. 2. He comes into camp as a tryout, proves that he can still play, not be an idiot and get serious, and maybe the Wings will take a chance on him. I always liked Roenick. I mean, it could happen. If it does though, it'll be towards the tail end of free agency. Not on July the 3rd.

Ok, so we got three now. We should start a "Bring Calder back" club. Hey, if Fedorov can get that kind of support, so should Calder!
-
Man alive. That franchise just gets better and better every year. Finally, when Bill Wirtz decides to let Dale Tallon open up the check books to get some decent talent there, he goes off and spends 4 million a season on Lang? Come on. Ridiculous signing. Lang is awful, lazy, and many other things to go on top of that. For God sakes, when, and I do mean when, will that Chicago franchise ever get it's s*** together?
-
Loyalty hasn't existed in this town since Fedorov left. Yeah, I said it.
-
The writing was on the wall for Calder, basically since the San Jose series. Me and Reem were probably the only two who wanted to see him back, but I kinda knew it wasn't going to happen.
-
Oh wow. Bertuzzi is far past his prime. Now, I, like any other Wings fan, would have liked to keep him. But for 4-5 million a season? Heck no. He can rot in Anaheim since he wants that kind of cash, given his back and s***ty play in recent years. It's shaping up just like last summer. Nobody gives Holland enough credit for not making these off-the-wall signings. I'm sure if he would have given Bertuzzi 4-5 million a season, people would be bitching that he was overpaid. It just comes with being a Wings fan. He never fit into this team quite as I had hoped. I was beginning to grow tired of making excuses for his bad play, especially in the playoffs (with the exception of that one game against Calgary and one game against Anaheim). Not a huge loss, since Bertuzzi hasn't been a big factor in the league since 2002-2003, and the Ducks majorly overpaid to get him.

Wow! Did I ever miss a lot while being gone! Ok, first off, this is excellent signing on all points. Rafalski can put up just as many, if not more, points then Schneider, and isn't a liability defensivily. He's also more physical then Schneider, and younger too. I have to say, I am impressed by what our good man Kenny Holland pulled out of his hat on this one. My only complaint is that 6 million a season is a bit much, and 14 million split between him and Lidstrom is a lot of money for 2 defenseman. Nevertheless, I love the Rafalski signing, and look forward to him have a great time here in Detroit!

Best show ever.

Toskala should be able to steal the starting job like nothing. Raycroft is not that good. I wouldn't want Raycroft here at all. His attitude is pretty lame. Every time he has a bad game or lets in a soft goal he always says "Yeah, well, I stopped the other 30 shots" or some lame crap like that. It's stupid.
