    Holland: "Lang won't be back"

Or San Jose. We can't waive him anyways. He's a free agent.

    Holland: "Lang won't be back"

He should go play in Switzerland or something. He could be like a 50 goal scorer over there!

    Kozzie returning to the Wings?

Nobody has wanted Lindros on this team in over 5 years. He's a vegetable. Though you better believe some team will still try to salvage whatever is left of him. Usually, you're destined to get about 5-10 games out of him where he looks really good, like he used to be. The rest of games after that? He's either invisable, or playing really, really bad. He's basically an older version of Nik Antropov, injuries and all.

    NHL's All Time Most Hated.

Like I mentioned, there actually was an NHL player by the name of Bryan Adams. Only a minor leaguer though, as he only played 11 career NHL games.

Yes. Svoboda is Lang's agent. And for those who are wondering, it is the same Svoboda who was a defenseman in the NHL, and first ever Czech to play 1000 NHL games.

    Latest Fix the NHL article

Increase the net size is the only one I truly disagree with (in fact, it's just plain ridiculous). Scoring is not that far down as to what it was pre-lockout days. If you want to solve the scoring droughts, then make these mediocre goalies like Giguere wear normal sized pads. Compliment that with somehow enforcing teams not to play the trap. It's a stretch, but if given the crudentials, it can be done.

    No more off-sides?

Great example. When was the actual last time a fan got involved with a brawl on the ice? Probably since Mike Milbury was still playing when he beat a guy with shoe. And Milbury hasn't played in ages. Bettman came out and said himself back during the fighting debate in March that fighting would stay in the game. But still, I really think that's just him saying that. When he removes the instigator rule, then we'll see if he's actually serious, or just spewing off more bulls***. Oh, I know he did. The reason Fedoruk is the example is because he's constantly getting his ass kicked every time he drops the gloves anymore. I like Fedoruk, but this talk like what was going on back in March will keep happening if he keeps fighting. I'm beginning to think he isn't capable of winning a fight anymore, which is too bad, because he was one my favorite fighters. And it's these one-hit K.O's that are the problem. First against Derek Boogard, then Colton Orr. It's when that stuff happens is when everyone starts going "This could be bad". Of course, one man that has really pissed me off in the last few years is Shanahan. Back when he wasn't a puss, he used to fight a lot. Now he's one of the people advocating (secretly) to get rid of it. That hit by Knuble must have really screwed him up or something. edited for grammar

The changes look ok. Good job Dave. Just curious. Will you be putting any of the older articles on back on the new site?

    NHL's All Time Most Hated.

For the record, the player you are thinking of is Bryan Allen, who was a defenseman on Vancouver at the time when he did that to Zetterberg. Bryan Adams was a minor league forward who played a 11 career games with Atlanta between 1999-2000 and 2000-2001. Esa Tikannen? I always liked him. He was a dirty player, but I thought he did play with a lot of grit, compared to a lot of European players at the time.

    Holland: "Lang won't be back"

Thank God. Not a total surprise anyways, though I did get a little scare after the season in review thing on FSN thought he would be back. Great that he's not, and it's good to get conformation from Kenny himself. Reem: I want Calder back too. I thought he was great here. What happened in the playoffs I don't know, but before that, he was a great pickup. By far better then Williams.

    No more off-sides?

Unfourtantly, because of people like Todd Fedoruk, that probably won't happen. Him being on the recieving end of these one-hit knockouts is what started this whole "take out fighting" debate in the first place. Though that was silenced, the instigator rule is still there. If the owners complained about it, then something would probably happen. Unfourtantly (yes again), there are too many owners in this league like Bill Wirtz and Jeremy Jacobs that don't even care about hockey. In fact, with how bad their teams are, I bet they don't even watch it. They just go with the grain and do whatever is best for them to make more money. I hate the instigator rule also. You know, the fans, players, coaches, commentators, and basically everyone hates it, because this is where the stuff like with Chris Simon comes in. If there was no instigator rule, Chris Simon would have simpily showed Ryan Hollweg what for by beating his ass. But because you can't start fights without instigating them anymore, he decided to lumberjack him in the face. It's secretly turning hockey into an even more dangerous game. I can't stand the rule. I just hope everyone complaining about it will eventually get them to take it out. I mean, if Bettman wants to start selling the product to people (especially in the south), he needs to realize that people like violence, and that's what fighting is. Why do you think people watch Nascar? Nobody watches it to see guys drive around in a circle 200 times. They watch it for the potential crash. Hockey is a little different, but still. I want more fights also, and I just hope Bettman smartens up and removes it.

I was just mostly looking into the word useless, which is exactly what Theodore is.

Kaspar would get a good mention on my next five. Speaking of which, I'll do that just for s***s and giggles. 6. Bryan Marchment 7. Jordin Tootoo 8. Darius Kasparitis 9. Ron Hextall 10. Split between Chris Simon and Marty McSorely

    Filppula vs Hudler

Damn it! I forgot about them. Allison would be a perfect fit on that line. Maybe knock off Yashin, and put in Allison, and it get's even slower. I didn't even think that was possible. Andreychuck gets an honerable mention. In fact, I might even replace Murphy for him. The slower the better in this case. I don't think anyone matches the slowness of Scott Parker though. I know, he's a fighter/enforcer, but he really is brutal the way he skates. He's one of the guys that I would have figured would go extinct in the new NHL, but some teams have surprisingly held on to him.

Slide Maxim Kuznetsov in there for the final defense spot. He was a pylon out there!

    Ryan Smyth

Smyth doesn't care that much about money as some of these other guys do. If he did, he would have already accepted either the 7-year or 10-year contracts that the Islanders threw his way. There was a lot of money involved in those also (can't remember specifics, but I do know it was a pretty high amount).

    Paul Karyia

He checks his own teamates? When has that ever happened?
  22. Kp-Wings

    Filppula vs Hudler

Either Sheppherd or Parker would have to play defense along with Murphy. Think about it: Lang-Yashin-Parker Sheppherd-Murphy Wow. You could paint a house faster then guys could skate. There has got to be some even slower ones out there. I'll take a look.

    Tomas Vanek

Holland would never do that. Him and Darcy Regier are pretty good friends, so why would he want to burn bridges like that? Buffalo would match anyways, and all that would lead to is Regier being pissed off, and a lot of other GM's for that matter too, since many of them don't like people who throw offer sheets at players. I don't want Holland turning into Bobby Clarke part deux.

    Flyers acquire, sign Hartnell/Timonen

Crow. I think he's settled down a lot compared to 10 years ago. Though maybe that's just because he's been coaching bad teams since then, and has no reason to get emotional on the bench.
