Ah, the boys in Hamilton have got to be licking their lips over this one. That's two key pieces of the Preds gone, for what? A first round draft pick? At this rate that first round pick will be coming into the league when the Preds have already moved to Hamilton. All they need to do now is get rid of Arnott, Legwand, Zidlicky, Suter, Weber and a few others, and they basically have no team left. It's time to start selling tickets to the Hamilton Predators.

Wow, 6.3 for Timonen is horribly overpriced. On paper, this looks like a good move, since both Hartnell and Timonen are pretty good players. The sad part is the prices though. Philly really got screwed for overpaying these guys so much. Hartnell was lucky to make 2.5 million initially, and Timonen is worth nothing more then 5 million at the most. Woah.

We're all on the ball today. 3 topics regarding the same thing. As I said, this is the early stages of the Nashville fire-sale. I can see they are going to tank the season and suck to try and scare the fans off, so they can move. It's all just a matter of time now...

If you take out offsides, you'll be 50 goals scored every game. Sidney Crosby will finish his career with over 10,000 goals. Brett Hull could come out of retirement and be a force again. Guys like Holmstrom and Smyth would sit in front of the net the entire game, regardless of where the play is at on the ice. Offsides keeps the game in balance. Say what you want, but without it, final scores will be like basketball scores. I do consider a fundamental part of the game, since it keeps things the way they should be.

The Senators went bankrupt for a different reason. The team had fan support, but played in a small Canadian city. At the time this happened (around 2003), the Canadian dollar wasn't worth much, especially compared to the American dollar. That's mostly why they went bankrupt. The Predators have problems because they have no corperate support, and very little fan support. Sure, the team has guys like you that are the die-hard fans. But other than that few, is there really much of a buzz about the Predators in Nashville? Please, tell me honestly too. I haven't been there to know, but I really doubt there is.

Girgorenko is just as good as Hudler. There is no room for him here. Besides, Babcock really doesn't like to give anyone under 6'0 a whole lot of minutes. Hence why he thought Kopecky was a better choice in the playoffs. We might as well try and get at least something for Hudler, since he won't be playing much here. And no, I'm going off and saying "Let's trade Hudler for Doan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11oneone22". Hudler, as many have mentioned, really doesn't have a lot of trade value, but at least has some. He won't draw anything straight up, but if packaged with the 1st round pick, a re-building team might look at that and be interested.
-
Hudler should be traded. He won't make it here. If packaged with the 1st round pick or maybe another prospect, a decent return may come. Interesting how they have some of the big names on that list for possible signings, like Drury and Smyth. Even Forsberg. I wonder if Cullen knows we don't. I personally think Smyth would like to come here, since he wants to win. The question is how much he'll want, and I don't want the Wings to break the bank. We still need extra Cap room come trade deadline time to address any further needs.

Isn't going to the SCF considered an accomplishment? It certainly is, so why should the man who built the team be fired after they did it? This is the farthest Ottawa has ever went anyways. I mean, if their going to fire him, last season would have been more appropriate or during the Patrick Lalime era, but not now. That's just stupid to fire the GM after the team came so close. Muckler is a good GM. Just because his signings didn't pan out doesn't mean he was bad. They made it farther in one year without Chara then they ever did with him. He wasn't all that big of a loss when you think about it, since Tom Preissing played just as good.
-
That Brandon Sutter who is mentioned is the son of Brent Sutter. I'd like to see the Wings draft him, since the Sutter's have such a history of being good players. Plus, he's 6'3 and a center. It makes perfect sense.
-
You've been around long enough to know that's just how we are.
-
Exactly. Muckler isn't the coach. He brings the players in, but has no real effect on how they play. If anyone should be fired, it should be Murray.

Nobody likes Versus. I thought you would have gotten that by now. I don't so much as hate the way they do games, as much as I hate the Panel. Keith Jones and Brian Engblom are such stupid ******* blowhards that I usually change the channel when their on. I can't stand either of them. Their both so annoying, and if it was their way, we'd see a Nashville - Philadelphia SCF every year. If they replaced those two, I probably wouldn't have such a problem with versus.
-
I guess there's a first for everything then.

If he falls on his face again this season, he'll probably go back to Russia. He's already made himself look really bad with his "I regret ever signing with Montreal" comments back in March. I don't see the Wings ever wanting him ever. Maybe the summer of 2005 Ken Holland would have wanted him, but we're seeing a new and improved Ken Holland, one that looks to be finally addressing the needed issues, which doesn't include Samsonov. Though if he brings back Kozlov, he might be edgeing his way back. No room for panic... yet.
-
No way. Eklund might actually be right! Gaaaaah. All he did was instead of pulling the crap straight from his ass, he got it from somewhere else. I thought we'd never see the day he'd read TSN like the rest of us.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=210749&hubname=nhl I wouldn't put to much into this yet, as this article has a number of obvious mistakes in it. For one, Calgary was eliminated by the Wings this year, not San Jose. Secondly, he took the Chicago Blackhawks to the SCF in 1992, not 1988. They need to get the facts right. Still though, it makes for some interesting discussion. I honestly can't believe Calgary thinks he'd be any better then Playfair, because all Keenan knows how to do good is piss the players off. But still, it might work out for them. That is, if it happens.
-
Hah! Even in Chicago Williams is not a top line player. Don't kid yourself.
-
Montreal got a steal. Cullimore's contract will only be a small hit to the Cap, and Salmailnen doesn't make hardly anything either. He has potential too. I wonder what this'll do for Samsonov. Playing in a no pressure market like Chicago might revive his career. We'll wait and see.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=210840&hubname=nhl For those who don't know, Hlavac last played in the NHL during the 2003-2004 season. He spent the past 3 years playing in Europe. In his NHL career he has played 356 games with New York, Philadelphia, Vancouver, and Carolina, scoring 78 goals and adding 111 assists for 189 total points.

No Harold, this is where you're wrong. That's me holding the Cup.
-
How can you honestly say that would actually happen? Monroe is awful, and Shelton hasn't played a single game yet this year. That's two of three who have virtually no (if any) trade value at all. Jurrjens is nothing in the way of as good of a prospect as someone like Trahern either, and won't get nearly the same draw. Unless Mike Milbury is all of a sudden GM for Cincinnati, nobody in there right minds would accept a trade like that.

Hah! I'm so glad I plan on moving out of damn state soon. Being run by a bunch of ******* idiots. God damn Granholm and her God damn Union. If it wasn't for the ******* Union, Granholm wouldn't be jackhammering this state into submission. Whether or not DeVos would have been any better remains to be seen, but he had my vote. ******* bulls***. ...I'll be leaving the state in a matter of time, but I feel for the people who still have to live here. It's ******* ridiculous what that stupid dumbf*** Granholm is doing to this state. Arrgh. Ok, I'm done dropping F-bombs now. Bleh.

Aye Cap'n OsGOD! I got the banner for ye' crew.
-
What is with these people? Jeez, why don't we take fighting, hitting, and goalies out the game while we're at it and just change the name of the sport to basketball? I've grown tired of these outrageous ideas people come up with that they actually think will improve hockey. God forbid Bettman reads any of this stuff, otherwise he might like the ideas! Christ.

Adolf is not an NHL coach. This is a great move on Boston's part. Had they gotten production from guys like the aformentioned Patrice Bergeron, Glen Murray, or Brad Boyes (before he was traded), they might have been close to condtending for a playoff spot. The Bruins aren't a bad team. Thomas is a little shacky as an NHL goalie, but the team has a decent mix of good forwards and defenseman, and the Stuart-Primeau for Ference-Kobesew trade was an absoulte steal for Boston. If they get a decent coach who can motivate the players, the Bruins should give a good run at a playoff spot next season.
