Can I be excited now? YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's actually not a bad trade. Gratton is a decent 3rd/4th line center. He never lived up to his offensive expectations, as he was drafted 3rd overall in 1993, but he still is a decent depth player. His salary demands aren't that high, either.
-
How exactly? Everybody forgets the fact that, coming off the lockout, the Wings signed Osgood to be the #1 goalie. He was injured early though, and since Legace started playing good, I guess the coaching staff just said "Hey, what the hell?" and played Legace. Personally I think that was a horrible decision though, because I think Legace sucks and had when the playoffs rolled around it was clear his stats were padded through the teams good defense. My own personal opinion here, but I think if Osgood had been the starter last year, we would, at least, have gotten past Edmonton.

That's pathetic. Most hockey fans and their grandmothers know that Sundin is the face of the franchise. Give him a decent winger to play with, and he's just as good, if not better, than all of the names you just mentioned. Getting rid of him is the joke, not keeping him.
-
Eva, why did you scratch out Boston from that list? Surely if they ever became a good team again, people would watch.
-
It's a question. Alexei Yashin for real? Answer to the question: No.
-
I don't know where he gets "Souray to the Islanders" from. It's either back in Montreal, or out in California. If he's going to post crap, at least post the crap that everyone else talks about, and it's the most likely to happen! I almost think he puts all 30 teams in a hat, and draws them out to decide for which player will go where. I mean, that has to be it. Souray to the Islanders? That's almost as bad as Pascal Leclaire to Minnesota.

You're not really comparing Lang to Jagr, are you? Put it this way: Jagr may (I think) have more givaways then Lang, but his point production blows Lang completely out of the water. Their both pretty much even with their lazy defensive play, but since Jagr can produce decent numbers on a consistant basis, there should be no comparison. Again, like I said before, I would only take Lang if it came down to him or Alexei Yashin. Hopefully it never has to come to that!
-
Come on now. We've got to keep this somewhat realistic though. I mean, do you really want to fork over the big bucks and give Lang regular Pepsi? Diet is by far the cheaper option.
-
Thank God it'll hopefully be somewhere other than here. That said, if Holland signs Alexei Yashin instead, I'll warp back in time and make sure the Wings re-sign Lang. If it has to be one or the other, I'd rather have Lang!

Wow! A no hitter! Verlander Rocks!

I figured it would be a given Bertuzzi resigns judgeing by the way he talked. He'll have to take a major cut though, since I can't see anyone, even besides the Wings, signing him for what he makes now. Ok, maybe Toronto will, but that's the exception. As much as he sucked here, Sandstrom is/was probably one of the best Swedish players to play in the NHL in his days with New York and LA. He was a bust here though, definitly. In fact, I think he was the only forward (besides Tim Taylor, who was not a regular in the lineup) on the 1997 Cup Champion team not to score a goal during those playoffs. Kostantinov, Fetisov, and Rouse didn't score either, but they were defenseman. Still though, he was a great player, just not here in Detroit.

Nah, the players union won't be mad about it. It's already rumored that the Leafs are planning to offer Alexei Yashin a contract which features 10 cheeseburgers and a side of fries as a base salary! Not to mention if he hits 20 goals he'll get 5 double cheeseburgers, and free refills of regular Pepsi. They'll surely go after him first.
-
Nah. I'd go with 5 regular cheesbergers for a base salary, then maybe if he hits 15 goals I'll throw in a double. For every 5 after that he gets a free refill of Diet Pepsi.
-
Like who? Unless you mean Aaron Asham, I don't see anyone who can bring decent play along with toughness as much as Hartnell can. Heh. He can have fun sitting on the sidelines come April next season, because the Oilers sure as hell aren't going to make the playoffs anytime soon. The curse or Ryan Smyth will haunt that team for years to come.

That must be hard for Sundin to continue playing with that organization. Poor guy. I hope he wins a Cup at least once in his career, but at this rate, it doesn't look like it'll happen. Not a bad signing on JFJ's end, but I will still criticize him if he doesn't get a decent winger to play with Mats. Antropov and Ponikarovsky are not first line caliber wingers, and if JFJ doesn't realize this, Sundin will continue to be dragged down by them. If Sundin had a decent winger, he'd be a 100 point player easily. He still manages to be a 70-80 player when he has to do it all himself. He is a great player.
-
Shall I change it to the Angels then?
-
And what exactly does this have to do with anything? The person I was talking to thought he was a defenseman, hence why I said he wasn't.
-
In that case, then it's not an issue. He won't be traded, like many think.
-
Nylander is already claiming to want money in the 5.5 million range. Holland won't go for that at all.
-
Bell is under contract. I don't get the whole Marleau ragging. He has one bad playoffs, and everyone wants him gone. If we were to go by that here with Datsyuk, he would have been gone back after the 2002-2003 season. Before this year, Marleau was great in the playoffs. One bad season shouldn't ruin his stock completely. I expect San Jose to re-sign him.
-
I highly doubt there'll be more than one or two anyways. Once the dead heat of summer falls in, they'll probably all be gone, and start focusing on the Dodgers. Sorry, but I just had to take that little stab there. I'm still bitter.
-
San Jose doesn't have the Cap space. I know the Kings suck, but Drury will probably go there as his first choice, since they can afford to shell out big bucks for him.

Good picture, Dixie Wingslover. That is how a parade should be. You could see the fans stretching for miles down the road. That is a true parade. Not this 15,000 bulls*** that went on in Anaheim. What a joke.
