Obviously you haven't been around long enough to know the whole Mowers joke, so I shouldn't expect that you know anything about it. Yeah, I'm such an idiot for having Calder in my avatar. Sorry his name isn't Sergei Fedorov, and he's not an overpaid, washed up old Russian who should just pack it in already. By the way, Mowers for HOF. Start the campaign.

I know you're anti-Hartnell, but who exactly on the free agent market can bring what he does? I have the list, and really, I see no one that brings what he brings. The next best option is maybe Brad Isbister. A former 20 goal scorer, who is big, and gritty. The only thing is, is that he's been primarly a 3rd line player the for the last 5 years. Whether he can still play on a top line is in question. I'd still like to see the Wings maybe sign him as a 3rd liner though, since he is big, and size is always welcome.

Are you going to be pursueing Smyth like you did Luongo last summer?

Mark Mowers is a future HOF'er. A true dynastic player, that even made Wayne Gretzky tremble. Now, if only Offsides would get done with my Mowers avatar, we'd be all set here.

Hartnell can replace Lang, and Asham can replace Hudler. There, that sounds good to me.

Great post! My favorite part is about bringing Vincent Riendeau back. We need a true top notch goaltender, and Riendeau is definitly the guy.

I always like to hear that. Unfourtantly, Ken Holland does not. Well, he is getting a little bit better about it. I mean, both Calder and Bertuzzi were North Americans, and he brought them both in at the trade deadline, which really impressed me. I thought it would just be another no name Swede. I give Kenny credit, he's starting to realize that a team full of only Euro's doesn't win. The teams needs a good balanced mix, and it has enough Euro's. That said, for some reason, I'm always willing to be a little easier when it comes to Samsonov. He's not as bad a guy as everyone says. It's just the contract situation that scares me away from him. That, and Scott Hartnell is availble, who I'd really like to see with the Wings.

Ducks; A disgrace to NHL? Trend for good ol' hockey going to the
Kp-Wings replied to a topic in General
Just curious here. Who is your team that you root for? The Av's? -
De Vries is getting steadily older now. Maybe for the right price he'd add some physical sense to the blueline, but he's really not worth a big contract. Sutton is the ideal choice for me, but rumor is he'll command about just as much as Markov, if not more. The Wings just don't have enough Cap room to work with by those numbers. All in all, if De Vries wants to come cheap, by all means bring him in. A gritty defenseman is always welcome here in my book.

Because these forums are filled with people that want to hang onto the past, and actually believe Fedorov would still be an effective player. Him and Shanahan both fall into the same department, though the love for Fedorov around here is just sicking sometimes.

Great idea! Their coming out a bit early this year. I wonder why.

I thought we all hit it on the head pretty well. There's a difference when Pronger does it, and when someone else does it. Everyone on these forums, except Lou, hates Pronger. Maybe when Pronger isn't involved we don't so mad about it. Still though, I was pretty mad over what Alfie did. He rallied the Ducks with that stupid move. And it's as clear as day I don't want Anaheim to win. Still though, when Pronger isn't involved, the reaction is smaller. Pronger is just a *****, plain and simple. Whatever he does is under the microscope, because he is a repeat offender.

This is the worst one. Pronger kicked with his skate blade out. That is an extremely dangerous play, and while Nieminen is a bastard at times, he certainly didn't deserve to have his life put in danger like that. While nothing serious happened thankfully, it could have been Clint Malarchuk all over again. And even what happened to Malarchuk was accidental. What Pronger did was a clear attempt to seriously injure Nieminen. -
Oh please. I admit, Alfie is a classless bastard for doing that. But comparing that to McLennan's battle axe or both of Pronger's hits is just plain stupid. What Alfie did was just plain stupid, but it had no magnitude on what McLennan or Pronger did.

Last summer I would have loved Samsonov to come here. Now, I do not. I don't have a problem with him, but he's not what the Wings need. The Wings need someone like Hartnell, who brings grit along with scoring ability. Now, if we could manage both Samsonov Hartnell then maybe, but that would mean no Bertuzzi. I would rather have Hartnell and Bertuzzi then Samsonov. If Hartnell is gone, and the Wings can't find anyone else to fill that role, then maybe it's worth a little consideration. After all, Samsonov is a winger, and the Wings need more of those. He might work out well with Datsyuk. I'd keep the options open on him, but as of right now, Samsonov doesn't catch my attention. Maybe if we lose Hartnell to someone else, but not yet.

The East has been the weaker conferecnce for years now. One thing about the Sens losing, is that it will be nice to have the Cup won by a Western Conference team (the Wings last did it in 2002).

Kondratiev recently resigned with Anaheim just last week. He may get another shot in the NHL.
-
Nik Kronwall is more or less unlucky. That said, his constant injuries are really starting to bother me, and for a guy that's supposed to be a top defenseman on the Wings, he hasn't shown it yet. He's always injured. Staffan Kronwall, from what I've heard, is just plain injury prone. I heard he's been that way since playing in Sweden. Combine the fact that he's unmotivated, he'll never make it with the Leafs. JFJ will just find a worse, yet more expensive replacement.
-
Seems like he's no different from his brother. Heh, that family is pretty weak. I wonder what it is.
-
Thank you for that HOH. I guess I forgot about ol' Claude. Still though, the winds are already blowing evil in this direction after tonights game. I can't believe him being out of the lineup has made no difference. Unfair.
-
It was his dumbass play that changed everything around. Ottawa had momentum going into the 3rd after scoring the goal to tie. Then Alfie blows it by being a dickhead. Anaheim came out gunning for Ottawa in the 3rd because of what he did. As you can see, I'm not in a good mood.

who should Detroit target the most in free agency?
Kp-Wings replied to canadienhater's topic in General
Good point. Kozlov wouldn't even be a top line player here. He'd be a 40 point scorer, tops. I'd rather have Hartnell. -
f*** you Alfie. You God damn ******* moron. You blew the game with your stupid cheapshot. God Damn it. There is just no justice in the world anymore. The day Chris Pronger lifts the Cup is the day that the soul of hockey dies. f*** it all.

Wasn't he injured this entire season?
