You know him personally? By the way, Detroit # 1 Fan, who was actually a big fan of Brent Gilchrest?
-
He has 4 NHL games of expierence. Bringing him up now would basically mean he'd stay backup. No way Babcock makes him starter at the snap of his fingers, just like that. He's only a rookie. Let him stay in the minors for one more year. He can still be assigned to GR without having to clear waivers, so we might as well take advantage of that time while it's there.
-
Remove Grigorenko and Kopecky and insert Ryan Smyth and another 4th line grinder type player (Note to all: Aaron Asham fits the bill perfect), and everything will be set.
-
Dried fruit?
-
Yes. He proved himself in the Anaheim series, and was slowly getting better. Now he just has to get healthy, and stay healthy, and we'll all be good.
-
You all assume Sergei wants to come back. How do you know he does? With the way the fans treated him, he might not want to. I really don't want him back personally. As I said before, nostalgia does not win Cups. Filppula is plenty capable of handling the second line center position, as he has proved this season when given decent minutes. And besides that, he is less then half the price of Fedorov. I might as well be in the minority, but I don't want Fedorov back, not at the price he is at now.

Come on OsGOD. Smyth is, at the very least, in reach. Kenny has suprised us before *coughBertuzzicough*, and who's to say he won't do it again? Besides, listening to the rumors, Smyth might just come here. And no, my source is not Eklund either, so it might actually happen.

Grrr. Stop making me look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is about the 10th time I've looked already today. It's all because of you!

Should the Wings target UFA-to-be Giguere?
Kp-Wings replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
Don't worry. I'd still manage. -
You did. Again.

Stop making me loooooooooooooooooooook!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RAWR!!!!!!!!!!! I looked again! I should draw a new dinosaur. Although instead of eating babies, he'll eat politicians. Huh, am I good or what?
-
How about Ryan Smyth?
-
Oh, you know, just the usual stuff. Most people think the Wings would be a great desination for Smyth, because we've been so successful for a while now, and he'd like it here. It's looking like he won't return to Long Island, at least for now. Rumor is they've thrown a 10 year contract at him (what a surprise Charles Wang ), and he doesn't want to commit for that long. Also, the club doesn't plan to buyout Alexei Yashin, and if they don't, that means they're not commited to winning. Yashin is overrpaid, and has been past his prime for years now, and when Smyth sees that, he might not want to be a part of it. These are all just rumors mind you, so we won't see much being said until the SCF is over.
-
How do you know that? He's never played here before. Besides that, Fedorov is over the hill, and has been so for about 4 years now. You've got to understand: Nostalgia doesn't win Cups. Fedorov has a huge salary, and has been off his game for years now. I have no problem bringing him in when his contract is up, and sign him for dirt cheap, but at this point in time it would be foolish to bring him in with that contract. You could kiss the active trade deadline Kenny had last year goodbye, because he'd have no cap space to work with.
-
Asham could easily be fit into this team if Kenny wants him. Hudler will be dumped (yes, I'm calling it now, because him and Babcock aren't exactly good friends) and the extra spot could to Asham. This is assuming we re-sign Bertuzzi, and also sign Ryan Smyth. Hey, the rumors look good right now, so it might just happen.
-
Don't waste your breath. Draperfan is one of the biggest trolls on this board, and is more than likely Steve Moore in disguise.
-
Unless Kronwall get's hurt again and you want Fedorov to play defense, there is no point in having him here. He'll just take up a roster spot that could go to someone better, like Grigorenko. No Fedorov. kthx
-
Perhaps. I'll let you guess though. LOL I JUST WENT ALL LIKE RAWR!!!!!!!!11111!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!1

I know. That's what bothers me too. If their going to ruin the Wings normal jersey with all those idiotic stripes, then f*** them all. These are not soccer jerseys. I like what someone else said here too: With all the problems the NHL has (marketing, TV contract, keeping up with the NFL, MLB, NBA) they choose a new style of jerseys as the supposed answer. What a joke.
-
You won't be able to get rid of it, even with Lang gone. Besides that, it's not really a malicious thing anymore. It's just a joke that I and a few others still get a good laugh over. I don't hate Lang. I know you've accused me of it before, but I don't. I just like the Lang jokes that are made, because their funny. At least I think their funny. Everyone has their own sense of humor though, so it's whatever works for you.
-
Come on Offsides. It was a joke. Just 'cause the playoffs are over doesn't mean we should lose our sense of humor. Heh, it's actually easier for me to make jokes now, because I'm not so on-edge over every little thing that happens with the Wings. I still wish they were playing though. Oh well, 'till next year I guess.

Ah Lou. Nice to see you back. I agree with all your thoughts, except Maltby. I still like Maltby personally, so maybe that's why I'm in favor of keeping him. Everything else you said I tend to agree with otherwise. Heh, do whatever you can to get McGratten in the lineup for Ottawa. I'd love to see try to get Pronger to drop the gloves. I know he probably wouldn't, but it'll still be cool to watch McGratten going after everyone out there. A fight with Shawn Thornton would be a pretty even match, though I'd still give the edget McGratten.

Let the games begin. Ensue the dramatic music! *dramatic music starts playing*

My reasons: I hate Pronger, I hate Brian Burke, and I think Anaheim is a lame ass market. I guess that makes a traditionalist, but Anaheim, which is basically nothing but a sub-city of LA, is stupid. If the Kings won it, I might look at it a different way, but not for Anaheim. Besides: It'd be nice to get the Cup back in Canada. It would make the Canadian media *coughCBCcough* shut up about this constant crap of hockey is "too Americanized" and all this other bulls***. It gets annoying after hearing it so many times.
