I'll admit to being guilty of that. I just expect the expected. It isn't right, I know. Now that the series is over though, it shouldn't be an issue anymore.
-
Thanks. Best of luck too you. See you around.

Most people would prefer Souray because Souray will drop the gloves. In my opinion, I'd rather keep Schneider. Souray is hot-headed, takes bad penalties, and is one of the worst defensive players in the game. He makes Bryan McCabe look like a good shut-down defenseman.

How about not? Living in the past does not win Cups. Shanahan is soft and weak in his old age. Besides, he left the Wings on his own. He doesn't want to come back.

Oh? And what about how you Ducks fans acted towards us when the series started? I love how you guys think we are all such villinous bastards, when really, it was the Ducks fans that started this whole thing. We never really got into it with Sharks fans (minus Samadelphia), as they were great people that didn't come on here and post stupid s*** like DUKS IN THREE3!!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!1. Divac: You seem like an ok guy, so don't take what I said personal. But still though, I am explaining the situation, and the situation is that the majority of Ducks fans are plain jerkoffs. Before assumptions are made about Wings fans being bad people, take a look at the Ducks fans first.

Definitly. If Pronger wins a Cup before Cleary does, then it'll just show you that there is no justice in the world anymore. That man shouldn't even breath the air in the same room as the Cup. On topic: I seem to get the feeling that Zetterberg will have surgery. Matt, you presented the idea way back in March, and at times during the playoffs, Z did look hurt. I think he might get the surgery. Now, if he comes back on time, that'll be the best thing. He'll be in better shape again. I just hope it doesn't turn into a thing like with some of the guys on Carolina last year, when Cory Stillman and Frantisek Kaberle missed all that time because of offseason surgery. We'll wait and see what happens.

The Wings lease on The Joe goes through the 2008-2009 season. Nothing will happen until after that. Edit: Well, construction might be started and what not, but the actual arena won't open until then. The Wings won't vacate during the lease, unless they are under pressure from the city to do so.

So, in other words, he's at it again. No matter. It gives me a good laugh reading what he says. He is probably one of the stupidest hockey pundants alive, and yet, it's good because you need guys like him to laugh at.

Lilja's turnover I imagine. If that was actually a serious question.

Honestly, this is being blown so far out of proportion. It's a double-edged sword when you look at it. On the one hand, Anaheim is classless s*** and shouldn't deserve to even be looked at. On the other hand, Chelios should show some respect, at least to the ones that deserve it (which means skipping Pronger). I don't know what one is better. So, with that being said, let's just move on and forget about it. It probably wasn't the right thing to do, but I do agree with his actions on some possible thoughts. Anaheim did not deserve to win that series. The Wings outplayed them by far, and they are a dirty team. Not to mention they have the worst fans I've ever seen in my entire life. Still though, it probably would have been better for Chelios to suck it up and shake their hands. Oh well. Hey, he did shake the coaches hands at least!

After your team is eliminated...who do you root for?
Kp-Wings replied to Yzermaynard's topic in General
I am rooting for the Sens to come out and just whip the piss out of Anaheim. I hate the Ducks, I hate Pronger, I just plain hate them. GO SENS GO! -
I remember this Motowice guy came after me before because I was being negative. It's funny how the shoe is on the other foot now. Call me a homer if you want, I really don't give a damn. The Wings had a great season, and far surpassed everybodys expectations/and or predictions. Most thought this would be a re-building year, others flat out said the Wings would never even make the playoffs. And yet, the Wings still finished first in the West, and made it to the Conference Finals and were only two games away from a trip to the SCF. While it's disappointing that they lost, you can't come on here and call the whole season a wash. The Wings had a great season, and have a lot of building blocks to make next season even better. Thank you Wings, and Go Sens!

Great effort Wings! It was a heck of a season. We'll be back next season. I can't wait!
-
Damn it all to hell. I really thought this would be the year... Sigh. Oh well. This is the way things go I guess. It just wasn't the Wings year, and it's as simple as that. Them's the breaks. In closing I'd like to say this: Thank you Wings for making this such a great season! You guys are the best. You gave it your all, but just fell short. They'll be back next year.
-
Them's the breaks. That's all it is. 2 periods left. Theres still time.
-
Ahaha! You are just relentless with the Giguere padding jokes. I'm enjoying all of them though, so keep it up.
-
Man. Are you guys making these dreams up? Either their not coming true, or their lies. So just stop already. kthx

Too many I'm afraid. I'm suprised at the amount of *stupid* ideas going around to trade Draper. He's one of the original Wings, and is still a very effective player at what he does. He rivals Yanic Perreault as faceoff master in the NHL, and is a great defensive forward. I don't know what people want instead.
-
Calder useless? I guess you must have hopped on the Wings bandwagon after the playoffs started. STFU and check your facts before you lambast players. Calder was one of the best players on the Wings when he was first aquired. His hand injury is what is slowing him down, not because he is useless. If you would have actually watched the Wings, you would know this. By the way, seeing as how you also spelled Ryan Smyth wrong, you are a bandwagon fan. You are probably in the same group of people who root for Federov and Lindstrom.
-
Signing Anson Carter would be an absolute joke. The guy sucks ass, and is one of the biggest locker room cancers in the league. Why do think he gets traded every other mounth? Also: You guys all need to calm down. It's just a possible offseason plan put into a thread for discussion. It's not jynxing the team or any other stupid s*** you are calling here. Stop being such jerks about it. If you don't like the thread, then don't post in it.

Ahahaha! Great comback!
-
I agree. Chris Pronger should never win, or even touch the Cup. He's such a piece of s***.

If Bertuzzi takes a paycut, I'll be glad to keep him here. If he wants to break the bank though, then let him go. His back is really becoming an issue. I'd also like to point something out to whoever said giving up a first round draft pick would be too much. In my opinion, it really wouldn't. Heres why: 1. The Wings hardly ever draft in the first round. Usually, they'll only use their first round pick once every 5 years. Jakub Kindl was taken in 2005, but other than that it's been since 2000, when the Wings took Kronwall, that they've actually used a first round pick. 2. The Wings first round picks are almost always busts. Look at some of these past names: Maxim Kuznetsov, Jesse Wallin, Yan Golubovsky, Anders Eriksson, Curtis Bowen. These are really the only guys that have been drafted in the first round recently for the Wings, and they've never made it here. The ones I left off are Jiri Fischer, because before his heart problem he was a decent player, and Nik Kronwall, although he might soon fall into this catagory of being a bust if he can't learn to stay healthy. *Note that I don't include Jakub Kindl, because he is only a rookie and hasn't even been given an NHL contract yet. Hopefully he never will fall into this catagory, and develops into the star defenseman like many predict* This is basically the reason why, if a first round pick is given up, it really won't matter. I mean, first round picks are nice to have and all, but in the Wings case they don't work out all that often.
