Ugh. I can't believe this is true. Kopecky SUCKS. This is a horrible move. If Calder is going to be benched, then why not play Hudler? Why? Does Babcock seriously hate him that much? I wasn't really in favor of playing Hudler, but after hearing this, I definitly am. Kopecky is horrible. Hudler might be able to at least contribute offensivly in some way, despite his size. Kopecky is not offensive, and he is not that physical either. He's just big. He'll be a pylon out there.

DUCK AND COVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you watch The Shield by any chance?

Check my posts before you assume stuff.

You guys are all so stupid. Kopecky as an actual replacement? Bootland? Are you ******* kidding me? In case you haven't seen or heard, Kopecky sucks ass. Bootland is purely a one-dimensional enforcer, Matt Ellis didn't do anything when he was up here either. Now, I don't mind the Hudler suggestions, as maybe he might help more than Calder, but some of you actually suggest Kopecky be in the lineup? Is that some kind of joke? Kopecky sucks. I guess me and Crymson are the only two people on this board who realize it too. One goal in 26 games, and he's not that physical either. He sure as hell didn't stand out to me.

Wow, you are a dumbf*** if I've ever seen one. Did you not see the part of him having a BROKEN HAND? Sorry he isn't Mario Lemieux and can't play his best through every obstacle thrown at him. No, Hudler should not be in the lineup.

Pronger is lame.

He is a good player. What he brings to the blueline and defense is something the Wings definitly lacked last playoffs (Sorry Kronwall fans, but other then the occasional big hit, he is far from gritty). I hope the Wings bring Markov back next season. I hope he takes a cheaper salary, to have the needed cap room of course, but either way I'd like to see him stay.
-
Agreed. He won't help the Wings at all. In fact, he'll more than likely hurt them even more. He's injured and really isn't that good of a player to begin with (Crymson, I like how you worded it ).
-
Oh well. It's all about luck in the playoffs. Wings got lucky in Game 1, Ducks got lucky in Game 2. If anything, this'll make the Wings (Hasek especially) want to come back in Game 3 and play that much better.
-
I understand what you mean. That isn't the style he plays. I really think it's funny everyone here is making Niedermayer out to be the malicious animal that stops at nothing until he beheads someone. Honestly, after watching the Calgary series, it'll take someone to really do a lot until I say what their doing is dirty.
-
I don't think he'd do it. The Wings organization has been great to him. While a GM position is better than VP, you better believe that Stevie will be in line for the Wings GM spot after Holland either retires or moves to a different spot. He won't leave.
-
Let's see him do it then. Niedermayer is not dirty. I don't know why everyone thinks he is. I agree with what someone else said earlier. Us Wings fans always look more and more like idiots (ala Leafs fans) every time one of these topics are made. Come on people, just hold your tounges for once.
-
He's ok when the Wings aren't involved. Though I do admit, last night he was pretty good. Must have got into the Molsons a tad early since he wasn't ranting on the Wings.
-
So modest... what a great guy. Go Stevie!

Great job of building the team by Stevie! Future GM right there folks!

Ozzie is awesome. He has such a great personality. Offsides, I like the new avatar. Heh.

Thanks and good luck!

Backstrom can't win the Calder trophy, as he will be 29 next season. Ever since Sergei Makarov won the Calder at age 31 back in 1990, the league voted that a player can only win it if their under 26. I get the feeling Erik Johnson will win it next year if he plays. He looks to be a real good player in the NHL. I'd be suprised if Kindl and Grigorenko even get a roster spot next season. Edit: Nevermind the first comment. I thought you were referring to the Backstrom on Minnesota, not Washington. As for that Backstrom, I don't think he'll even be in the NHL next season.

Scott Thornton probably goes by the same cliches as everybody else. The Wings are old, soft, Europeans. I'm sure he think he can take advantage of the Wings. In fact, probably the whole Anaheim team feels that way. Oh well. Let them think that. They won't be when we beat them!
-
Jay McClemant for referencial purposes. Yeah, I agree. Kronwall did suck for pretty much the whole season. The puck always seemed to roll off his stick every time he touched it. I wouldn't say he was the worst in the league though. Most might save that catagory for Rory.

I already did a nice Perry rant in the Post Game topic. Look there.

Ugh. I can't believe the amount of people who actually want Kronwall back. Do you all feel that Quincey is playing that badly? My God. We can last without Kronwall. It's not the end of the world if he doesn't come back.
