Everybody considers Toronto to be the Mecca of hockey, which I think is pretty lame. Even though they always sell out, the fans are so boring that you could take a nap at the ACC and not be disturbed. I never said it was myself, as it isn't. It's just a corporate hell up there, and I really feel bad too, because the Leafs have a lot of history with them. Ballard f***ed that organization up beyond repair. 100 years from now, if the Leafs still exist, they'll still probably feel the effects of Ballards rain.

How is it that Meech has to clear waivers? He's only played 4 NHL games in his career, and is only 23 years old.
-
That is sweet! How did you do that?
-
I agree with you. Saturn has that Omechi Zernomk, who is such a cheapshot! I mean, since when are lazers allowed to be shot? He makes Tootoo look clean!
-
Doubt it. By the way, if my inital post sounded weird, I just edited it. It meant to say boos, not hears.

Samuelsson - Time to give the guy some kudos

I guess he goes by not how many goals he scores, but how many shots he takes. Hence being the human shot machine. -
Heres the thing: The fans really don't love the Leafs. In fact, more often do you hear boos at the ACC then cheers. Yet they still go for some reason. I don't think I'll ever understand. edit: left out a word

Giguere and Backstrom are the only decent options really, but the chances of landing them are slim to none. Giguere will ask for a lot of money and Backstrom will likely stay in Minnesota. Belfour is an idiot, and is miles past his prime. Pass. Theodore would only become a good goalie again if he played in a market where has zero pressure to perform, such as Phoenix or Florida. He would get fried here in Detroit, by not only the opposing teams players, but us, the fans. Pass. Joseph will never play here again. I think we all know why, so I don't need to disgress any further. And I've got to say here: I find it so funny that some of you actually think Marc Denis should be the guy. Why not just keep Osgood? Osgood is a decent goalie and can hold on to at least the backup job. Denis can't even do that. He lost out to Karri Rammo, and was the #3 goalie. There's not much to choose from, as you can see. There are a few other names thrown around of guys that have been starters before, like Robert Esche, Jocelyn Thibault, David Aebischer, Sean Burke, Kevin Weekes, Brian Boucher, Mike Dunham or Mika Noronen, but in reality we would just be better off keeping Hasek or going with Osgood as the starter.

That organization is so sad. The fans need to stop going. Period. I don't care if it's the so called Mecca of hockey, they need to stop showing support to an organization that makes no strides to win. I really don't understand why they still go, since the ticket prices are outrageous, and the team makes no effort to ever improve. It's been about 17 or 18 years since Harold Ballard died, yet his legacy of not caring if the team wins lives on to this very day. It's so sad to see a fellow Orginal Six team going through this.

For a while it was becoming a cliche that Pronger would be injured on the Ducks. But yeah, they face pretty much zero adversity. Minnesota and Vancouver didn't even put up a fight.
-
I know! How can they let a team like Neptune in the playoffs? We need some more Original 30 teams in like Columbus and Nashville!
-
Good post. I agree with you. The expansion franchises just don't do it for me. Watching Carolina win the Cup last year was just... I don't know... lame. I really wish we'd see an Orginal six SCF again sometime soon, because not only would it be great to watch, it would be great for hockey and the NHL in general.

Series isn't over yet my friend. Still got to win one more game.

Heh, I never knew he said that. What a dick.

That was a hell of a shot he took. Perhaps he could be a formidable replacement for Schneids on the PP? Perhaps. Good game Sammy! -
I hope that's not the case. I really wondered that myself, if this would effect his being re-signed, but I hope it doesn't. I'd like to see him stay.
-
Exactly. I hate Patrick Roy, a lot for that matter, but I won't deny he is probably one of the best goalies to ever play the game.

It's nice to, for once, see a form of media that is outside of Detroit actually compliment the Wings. In fact, I don't think I've seen something like that since 2002!

2-2-1-1-1 is perfect. 3-3-1 and 2-3-2 are by far disadvantages for a top seeded team, since you have to play 3 road games in a row. Especially if you line up against an oppenent who is very good at home (like Calgary), then that team is at a huge disadvantage.

Wasn't referring to you. There are people on here that attack me whenever I post anything negative against Kronwall though.

I'm sure he would have been fine if he didn't play so much in the regular season. He was just worn out. It's pretty damn hard to play in 79 games as a goalie, then come in and play your "A" game in the playoffs. The Devils really need a backup goalie to split the duties with Marty. I don't know that much about Scott Clemmensen, their current backup, but he can't be that bad. If he is, then the Devils would be well advised to go out and get a backup that can split the duties with Brodeur, because this one man system they got going on over there just doesn't cut it. editef for grammar

Come on Draperfan. Nobody is saying you have to like Bertuzzi, but please, for the sanity of the forums, can you stop with the trolling already?
-
Wasn't this same thing said last year and it blew up in both teams face? Yeah, let's not start this again. Although it would be nice.

Heh, I just assumed it was Stefan. Easier to remember.
