The fact that most of these guys are all former NHL players/Coaches/GM's, yet they still are all idiots and are wrong about almost everything they talk about is even worse.
-
I was under that impression anyways, because the media paints the Wings as a team of 12-year old Peewee's that couldn't play an aggressive game of Scrabble, much less hockey. I'm sure all the media bigwigs (Grapes, the XM Radio national loser club, Eternal Mullet, etc.) will all be secretly pulling for the Dives to come out on top. Actually, scratch that. They'll be publicly pulling for the Dives to win the series. There is no secret in their long stemming hate for the Red Wings. In the end, it'll be even funnier when the Wings destroy the Divealanche. Floppa will be squirming around like the coiling eel that he is, as will the rest of that *** ass team. The best part about it, though? The media will have to eat crow AGAIN, because they were too busy hating to the Wings (for whatever reason it may be, I don't think I'll ever know the answer to that) to realize that they are the better team. Oh, and Dives suck.

Brodeur is lazy and he sucks™
-
Now that the Flames are back in it, I expect nothing short of a win. They've ruined the chance for fights, so they better win the game now!
-
I thought the Dives fans all hated Arnason, and now all of a sudden he's going to school Chelios? Ok then... if we're playing that game, then Samuelsson will school Adam Foote. You heard it here first!
-
As much as I like Chelios, he should NOT have his jersey retired by the Wings. Having a jersey retired is a really special moment, and Chelios hasn't done enough for the Wings to get that honor (he's done a lot, and is a great player, but not enough for a jersey retirement). The Wings are not the Divealanche - they don't just retire numbers because they feel like it (who, at last check, are now preparing the jersey retirement ceremonies of Steve Konawalchuk and Mickey Mantle for next season). A jersey retirement is a special event, and the next jersey retired in Detroit will be Lidstrom. Again, nothing against Chelios. I like him a lot (met him a few times, really great guy), and he's a good player that has done a lot for the Wings, and hockey itself, but a jersey retirement is a stretch.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. kekekekekekekekekeke

All of you are spelling it wrong. The actual correct spelling is: D-I-V-E-S

Agreed. People thought I was crazy when I wanted the Wings to sign him last summer, but he's really proven he still has something left in the tank (like I thought at the time). It's great to see him doing well.
-
It would have never even came to that point. Tootoo "isn't allowed" to fight.

That episode is so awesome! My personal favorite line: "All farts will now be converted into Steven Wright jokes."
-
Why couldn't it have been Samuelsson? ... ... Get well soon. He should be back for the start of next season anyways.

Somewhere, Neil Smith just jumped off of a building.

How come both the Habs and Flyers have to play each other? I like them both, so now I have to root against one of them (yes, I do like the Flyers. Sue me). In the end, though, I have to go with the Habs. They've always been one of my favorite teams, and I would love nothing more than to see a Wings - Habs SCF. That would be so cool! Go Habs! And... um... go Rags I guess!

Wait a second... Denver has a hockey team? I wasn't aware Broncos season was over.

Leafs to give Burke 23 million reasons to leave ANA
Kp-Wings replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
Burke to the Leafs - e5 Bertuzzi to the Leafs - e5 You heard it here first! -
So, in other words, Brunnstrom is lazy and he sucks™. ...somebody had to say it.
-
I love this. Bertuzzi and Schneider get to hit the links early, while the Red Wings, the team those two losers turned down, will continue to play for the Cup. What a great day this is. F*** Anaheim!

I'd have figured that, if any positive talk was made about Samuelsson, it would have been of his performance in Game 1, because he actualy looked like he knew what he was doing in that game. But Games 5 and 6? Are you kidding me? He was far and away the worst player on the ice for the Wings today, and a strong case could be made for that in Game 5 as well. A bag of rocks could play better hockey than Samuelsson. He does nothing but aimlessly throw the puck away to the other team when any sort of pressure is put on him, because he's too afraid to take a check (it's any wonder how a person of his size, being 6'2, could be, but I guess there's an exception for everything). He hasn't proven anything offensivily in nearly 3 years, which was his fluke 20-goal season, during which he was playing with players like Datsyuk and Shanahan, who could probably turn Downey into a 20 goal scorer if he got that opportunity (and that much ice time). I honestly can't understand what people see in this guy. Defensivily responsible? How do you call over 2-3 giveaways a shift, on average, defensivily responsible? I understand that players have their off-nights and what not, but Samuelsson has been "off" ever since his career began. This guy is brutal to watch. I will never understand whose ass he kissed to make it to the NHL, especially to make it on the Red Wings for that matter, but I must find this person. Maybe if I play my cards correctly when dealing with them, I could have an NHL career as well.

Hudler or Franzen. Both of these guys have really come to play this series. Franzen did struggle a bit during Games 3 and 4, but he's been great in all the others. Datsyuk has been fantastic as well. It's amazing how he's been so defensivily responsible, yet can also put up points on the scoreboard as well. He needs serious consideration for the Selke; him and Zetterberg both. It's a tough call for me who the exact MVP is. All three of those players played great, and contributed greatly in the teams success, and winning the series.

Definitly. Of all guys on the team that don't have a role here, Samuelsson definitly fits that bill. I just hope Babcock doesn't take McCarty out of the lineup, especially after Babcock comes out publicly and says what a great leader McCarty has been so far, and how his play has improved every game. Not only is McCarty proving that he can help this team and not be a lieability, he's bringing that physical edge that is always important in the playoffs, something that Samuelsson does not do at all. Plus, McCarty has never missed a playoff game with the Red Wings in his entire career (that's while playing in Detroit, not counting last season in Calgary); I don't want to see that streak ended because he was scratched for a useless loser like Samuelsson that hasn't pulled his weight on this team all season. Helm has played great, and I hope they keep him in. He's fast, gritty, and did an excellent job setting up Hudler's goal today. Give this kid a spot on this team next season; he's really proving himself. So, with all this said, here are the lines I'd like to see when Maltby comes back: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Hudler - Franzen - Filppula Cleary - Draper - Maltby McCarty - Helm - Drake Scratch: Samuelsson, Hartigan, those Grand Rapids guys Looks good to me. Great combination of scoring and grit with that lineup. Make the right choice Babcock! Sit Samuelsson, play Helm and McCarty, and everything will be good!

The question isn't money or whether it's short term or long term; it's whether he wants to play for a team that is outside of California. When it comes right down to it, the only team in California that might sign would be the LA Kings, and unless he likes losing, he shouldn't go back there. Anaheim has absolutely no cap space to sign him, and San Jose already has a huge influx of defenseman, so they really won't have any space for him either. He needs to realize that Detroit is the best fit for him; the management wants him to stay, so they should be able to agree on the money he wants. He has a great chance to win a Stanley Cup here, something he more than likely wouldn't have in Los Angeles. And he most certainly will be guaranteed top 4 minutes, something that he definitly wouldn't get in Anaheim (Niedermayer, Pronger, Schneider, Beauchemin), and he probably wouldn't get that in San Jose either. Detroit really doesn't have anybody in the system that is ready to play in the top 4, so they can make that guarantee to Stuart, while those other teams can't. Stuart has it good here, and I hope he sees this. He'll get good pay, lots of ice time, and a chance to win the Cup year in and year out, all things that can't be guaranteed from the California teams like they can from the Wings. He's a great defenseman, so I hope he makes the right decision and stays here in Detroit.

How about those Red Wings, eh? Credit must be given to this team for battling back from the disaster that was Games 3 and 4. They fought through the adversity that was thrown at them, and this expierence should hopefully help them in the upcoming series. Nashville was certainly tough to get past, but the Wings proved themselves as the better team in the end. Way to go guys! Osgood has proven himself as a turning point in this series. Although he hasn't faced that many shots (Ellis sees more in half a game than Osgood does in two full games), he stopped the ones he needed to, and I think only 1 goal against in that time speaks for itself. Goaltending is so important, so no matter who is in net, we need them to play well (and start supporting our goaltenders for once, instead of finding faults in everything they do). He really came to play, and it's great to see him doing well. Hudler is another guy that has really come to play. It's about time he stepped it up, because he's been in this organization for a while, and a lot has been expected of him. I didn't know if he was capable, but he's really showing he is. Great to see that we can get scoring from other sources, which was one of the concerns I had going into the playoffs. Secondary scoring is so important this time of year, especially when guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg will have the vultures known as the other teams top defenseman watching them all game, so you need scoring from other sources if those guys are being shut down. Hopefully Hudler keeps it going. All in all, I'm really proud of the Wings for coming through in the end, especially after the horrible collapse they had mid-series. For the first time, in a long time, I think this team has a real legitimate shot at the Cup. If they play the way we know they can play, and all the guys on the team get going, they can beat anyone. Let's Go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!!
