Woah, you live in China? How do you keep up with hockey here in the US? Do they have Center Ice there or something?

A lot of singers in Canada hold out the microphone and let the fans sing the Canadian National Anthem. It is pretty neat I will say. I want the Canucks to win this game. Why? Chris Pronger is lazy and he sucks, and that cannot be tolerated! In reality, I'd like this to be a long, close series. Anything that can get Anaheim worn down/and or Pronger getting hurt again is all the better reason.

Funny thing is, even after the Wings win you will still see a few "bench Lang!!!!!!!111" threads scattered around. He's just an easy target I guess.
-
It still does. He is still property of the Wings. He's not a UFA, so it's not his choice to go wherever he wants.
-
I don't think this is limited to just us. Toronto fans are far, far worse. And this is just the regular season too, since the Leafs don't play in the playoffs.

tampa bay might have to trade 1 of their big 3

You humor me Lou. Even without Datsyuks contract, we don't have enough decent prospects to send for Lecavalier. Who would you plan to send? Hudler? The Wings would be selling the farm for the next 10 years to land Vinny. It's a shame too, as Lecavalier is one of my favorite players, and I'd love to see him play for the Wings. That said, I still totally agree with you that Datsyuk is overrpaid. Zetterberg is a much better player in my opinion. And Zetterberg has the ability to be a leader too. Datsyuk is afraid to even answer a few questions from the media. Watch him in one of his rare interviews. He dodges more questions than Rod Marinelli. He is a decent player, and I can't deny he has been better these playoffs, but 7 years is an awfully long time to resign someone. I hope this doesn't turn into a fiasco like with some Russians who sign long term deals, most notably Alexei Yashin. We'll wait and see I guess. -
This was supposed to happen last summer. Considering how quickly that went up in flames, don't rule out yet another problem that prevents it from being signed. I would like something to get done though. These drama situations like Malkin could now be easily avoided if a transfer agreement is signed.

You should know me well enough that I wasn't being serious. The orginal comment was a joke anyways. Jeez...

You're actually in favor of sitting one of the Wings most physical players? Not to mention the fact that he scored the game winner that eliminated Calgary. Givin the situation, what I said was classy indeed. Give me one reason why Franzen should be sat. It's pretty clear you don't like Franzen anyways, as this is not the first time you've mentioned him as a guy to be sat. I'm curious to know why you don't like him. And to be clear on this, at the current time, yes I would rather have Franzen in then Bertuzzi. Every time Bertuzzi has one good game, he usually regresses and plays awful for about 3 or 4. Not that I'm saying I hate Bertuzzi, I really like him, but if he's going to play like he did last night then why should he be in the lineup?

Give me whatever it is that your smoking. It must really work!

Psshh, TSN. Notice those goalies above Hasek are all Canadian? Biassssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Naw, I believe it. But in reality, a 1.71 is still very good. If you want bad, look at Kari Lehtonens playoff numbers, or someone else who was spanked around.
-
THE WORLDS GONE MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 Bertuzzi seems to be a real hot button issue right now. The chances of him being sat are slim to none though. We can pretty much count on the fact that Hudler, no matter how good he plays, will always be the odd man out.

A re-building team that doesn't have squat for players could surely use Samulesson. I know we all think he sucks, but on a team like maybe Washington he could do well. Kronwall, if injured again, will likely go down as one of the worst signings in team history. If he's again hurt next season, we'd still be stuck with him for 3 or 4 more years. And by his last year, he'll make almost 3 million. I just wish there'd be a team willing to take him.
-
Where do they get Pahlsson and Pandalfo for the Selke? I mean, these guys are decent defensive forwards in their own right, but Zetterberg and even Datsyuk are better choices, since they are some of the best all around players in the league. And no, this is not the homer side of me either. Considering both of them do just about everything, and Datsyuk even led the league in takeaways, at least a nomination would be nice.

Drury is a shot in the dark while wearing a blindfold. I seriously don't think Buffalo will let him go. Maybe we could Briere, but rumor has it (and since it's not just from Eklund it could mean something) that he wants to go to Philly. Why he chooses Philly I have no idea, but that's what's been said. I do agree that if some of these guys are gone then the Wings could be in the front running for a real game breaker type player. They had a hard situation last summer, as the Cap really tied the managment down from making any big signings. This year they might be able to do it. I still want to keep Calder though, so he is one of the exceptions on that list of getting the money from. One thing that should be looked at, though, is perhaps dumping some of the guys who are under contract to free up even more Cap-room. Samulesson and Kronwall come to mind as the guys to get rid of in that catagory. Samulesson is a true one-hit wonder, and will most likely not regain the form he had during the 2005-2006 season. Kronwall I really wouldn't miss at all. He does lay big hits, but not on a consistant basis. And really, the hitting is his only good catagory. He brings no offense to speak of, and he is the worst puck handler on the team next to Hasek. Not to mention his injury history. If he has another major injury, his salary will really put a knot on the Wings cap, especailly in the years to come when he'll be making somewhere close to 3 million. A game breaker is not out of the question for certain. It just depends on who comes back next year, and how much money they take if they are back. Some of these dead weight players, like Lang, we can certainly do without, paycut or not.

After Calder was sat, I've come to the conclusion that Babcock and Samulesson partake in *** sex every night after the game. Seriously, I'm watching FSN last night and they had Babcock on in the pre-game. This is what he says: "Well, we were losing and decided to make some changes. So Calder was sat. We just felt some changes to the lineup needed to be made. Kyle didn't play bad or anything, but we needed to shake things up." After hearing this line, I start to wonder. Granted Calder has been bad these playoffs, but is it any worse then Samulesson? No, I don't think so. I'm not really calling Babcock *** or anything, but what is it that he sees in Samulesson? I mean, he screws up more then he helps, and it doesn't effect his ice time. Granted it was Samulessons shot that caused the Datsyuk goal in Game 2, but for the most part his shots really mean nothing.

Aye. I did stay up. Late games, especially when the Wings lose, suck more then anything. Not that staying up late really matters, it's having to get up in the morning is the killer.
-
I'd keep Calder and Schneider, and perhaps Maltby if he takes a paycut. Bertuzzi I would resign only for a dead minimum price, because he's not worth investing a lot of money into. Lang can hit the road. I have to ask though: Where do you get the idea that Calder was only used to get rid of Williams? It's not like Calder sucks or anything. He has been a disappointment in these playoffs, but if he can return to his 25 goal form he had in Chicago, then why get rid of him? There is a much better chance that Calder can get his game back after a bad season then, say, someone like Bertuzzi. Calder is a keeper in my book.
-
Heh, me too. After every loss, I start to imagine what kind of panic topics there will be. Usually I figure there will be at least one Hasek bashing topic, one Lang bashing topic, one Samulesson bashing topic, one topic saying how the Wings are finished and in no way in hell will they come back, one topic saying what a bad coach Babcock is, and about 5 different topics discussing who/and or what should return to the Wings next year. So far, I've been right on almost every one!
-
Usually after every loss there is usually one different target on the Wings. Somehow though, Hasek always manages to fold the blame. He played good last night. The loss wasn't his fault. Damn, just because he's the goalie doesn't mean he should be the only one being blamed here.
-
Well guys, we could always have Jason Williams back filling his spot. Do you want that instead? No? Then stop complaining. He did play pretty mediocre last night though. I really thought he was getting his game back, but last night was a major setback on his play. It must be that bad ice or something.

The One and Only Positive I Have Faith, Kumbayah"
Kp-Wings replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
How'd I figure that, after one loss, the negativity topics would be in full force. And in partnership with those are the "stay positive" topics. Heh. I won't be too negative... yet. But I'm looking at this series in perspective: The Sharks take Game 1. The Wings take Game 2. The Sharks then take Game 3. If this series follows the same boring trend that almost every other series has went these playoffs, it's that the Sharks win every game from now on and win it in 5. The pattern has been this: Team A takes Game 1. Team B takes Game 2. Team A then wins 3 straight and takes the series in 5. Look at all the series that went that way this year. It's so predictable. I really pray that this won't be the case here. I'm still staying positive in the best ways that I can. Go Wings! By the way, if things get too desperate, we could all take Offsides suggestion and cheer Lang from now on. Hey, it might work! -
Allrighty then. Glad we got that cleared up.

That's the traditional Maple Leaf purist attitude I like to see. Right on!

I hear Eklund plans to take a stab at it soon. Perhaps in Philly?
