I implore you not to call him Cheech. He is a player on another team, the one the Wings are playing too, and it sounds weird for you to be calling him by his cliche nickname. Ah, whatever though. Do what you want.

Well you know what this means... Luc Robitaille is lazy and he sucks!
-
Oakland and San Jose are two different cities though. That point is now void.

Convince me why I shouldn't be dreading this series....

There is a reason he was ran out of Boston. Do you honestly think, under normal circumstances, that Boston would have given up Thornton for two mediocre forwards (Marco Sturm and Wayne Primeau) and a depth defensmen like Brad Stuart if they wanted to keep him? I admit, Mike O'Connell was a horrible GM for Boston, so the move may not come as a suprise, but still. Thornton is a franchise player, but his leadership and ability to step it up in the playoffs has constantly been questioned, leading to his demise in Boston. I'm just going by how he was before. Maybe he has changed, I don't know. I still think Marleau is the bigger playoff threat though. -
I'm talking about the thread in general. Just look at some of the people posting in this thread. Their all calling the ESPN analysts a bunch of jackasses just because they didn't pick the Wings. I'm not saying you did, but most of the people in here are.

This is really a weird situation when you think about it. San Jose has a lot more firepower offensively than Calgary, but Calgary had the best goaltender in the league far none. It's really hard to determine what team is really the harder team to face. -
Good point. Everyone is having a coronary over the fact that the guys at ESPN didn't pick the Wings. I don't get what the big deal is in really. Most hockey pundants almost never pick the Wings to win anything. Why is this situation so different?

Here goes: West: (1) Detroit Red Wings vs. (5) San Jose Sharks - Wings in 6 (2) Anaheim Ducks vs. (3) Vancouver Canucks - Ducks in 6 East: (1) Buffalo Sabres vs. (6) New York Rangers - Sabres in 4 (2) New Jersey Devils vs. (4) Ottawa Senators - Senators in 6

Wow this is excellent! Not only is McGeough gone, but so is Mike Leggo and Mike Hasenfratz, who could sometimes be equally as bad. This is great having them gone!

It's the same thing, isn't it? -
Remember: Most thought the Wings would be demolished by San Jose, and that was obviously not the case. We'll see what happens.

Patrick Marleau will be more of a problem then Thornton. Thornton pulls a Houdini in the playoffs every year, and I don't see this year being much different. That said, I'm sure Babcock will put Lidstrom out to shadow him just in case. Good plan and all for the regular season, but I again I disgress, Patrick Marleau is a much bigger threat in the playoffs. -
Everyone seems to miss that point. Only the negative comes alive I guess.

Wasn't Calgary supposed to be "too tough to handle" for the Wings? Give it time. San Jose is a physical team, but not a bunch of dicks like Calgary was. The Wings won't have to deal with sticks being wedged up their asses and what not, at least I hope not anyways. -
We swept them in 1995. So no, this is not the first time since then. Regardless, the Wings should still be after these guys, since they kicked their butts with a metal boot in the regular season.

Welcome Sharks fans! Enjoy your stay here.

Well, my guess was right wasn't it?

Any remarks on other fan forums always come back here somehow. Do you guys hunt down the internet to find this stuff or something? I will pose a question here. How many of you, before this topic was posted, was a member of or even knew thefeeder.com forums existed? My guess is about 2 out of 94 who posted. edited for grammar

Who says this? Grapes? I may be breaking one of the 10 commandments to some of you guys here, but I am watching the game on Versus. After the display that CBC showed during the Wings - Flames game, saying all that s*** with McLennan and such was part of hockey, makes me not want to show that network any support. And it's not just Grapes either. Ron MacLean, who I thought actually could think for himself and not be spoonfed thoughts like Grapes, has really disappointed me lately with how he agrees with all this. Part of hockey? I think not.

Rob Parker is the worst form of sports entertainment you can find. It's basically an hour of sports ranting, slang, and rap music. I could pull something straight out of my ass and it would make more sense then what Parker says. Hell, Eklund might even be a little (hardly, but still a little) smarter then Rob Parker. Pashaw! I gotta say here: ESPN not liking hockey is no suprise in it's own. Cowlishaw is ok, as is John Buccigross. Barry Melrose, while he may like hockey, annoys the hell out of me. Not as bad as some of, like Kornheiser, but most of the ESPN analyst are just plain morons. If not for incidents like Chris Simon or McLennan, hockey wouldn't exist in their minds. It's too bad the only media attention it does get is bad though. Nothing that can be done about that.
-
It's obvious that Grapes is under mind control. The form of him we all know so well would never, ever, compliment the Wings!
-
Stop the presses! A scheduling joke! You are right though. The Wild and Pens won't see each other much for a long time to come at this rate.

That was the 9-4 loss. A dark day indeed.
