The 9-4 loss, and the home game where the Wings blew the lead with only a minute left or so are the two best examples. San Jose did indeed *****-slap the Wings, with a glove.
-
Thornton isn't doing that well. Now that Datsyuk and Marty Turco have come to play this year, Big Joe is the only big name player that still doesn't bring it to the playoffs.
-
Watching the game last night, it looks like the Pistons should have pretty good control of this series. As long as Dwight Howard is contained, like last night, Orlando doesn't pose much of a threat.
-
Everything is a big deal at LGW!
-
Ah, whatever. If we play them, we'll show 'em.
-
You know that's only temporary though. Any sign of adversity and it wears off. Like magic!
-
Their still here, just stalking out a time to strike. God forbid Hasek gives up one goal, and they'll be back.
-
Ottawa over Pittsburgh in 5 and San Jose over Nashville in 5 were dead on for me. Yay! Unfourtantly though, I did pretty bad otherwise. NFM, will you be doing this again for Round 2 and so on?
-
Best thing about round 2, playing an AMERICAN team.

Let's get something straight on this. "Hockeytown" is nothing more than a marketing ploy created by Mike Illitch and Ken Holland. Nothing more nothing less. It really came into effect after the back-to-back Cup wins in '97 and '98. Most everybody in Detroit knows it's not a predominant hockey town, mainly because over half of the population in Detroit is black. No, that's not a racial slur either. Fact is, most black people don't like or pay no attention to hockey. And even that aside, the sports fans in this town are bandwagoners to the extreme. Now that the Tigers are good again, the bandwagon has turned the course. The seat issue comes down to a couple of things right now: One, ticket prices are just ridiculous here. It's $68 for a standing room ticket for a first round playoff game. May I ask you how much a ticket to an Oilers game cost? I understand the currency differences and what not, but you guys probably get off a lot better than we do when it comes to ticket prices. Secondly, Michigan has the worst economy in the entire U.S. right now. It's ranked dead last. Almost half of the state is un-employed. Fact is, people don't have enough money to go watch the Wings a lot of the time, going back to said ticket prices that don't fit peoples budget in a very poor state. Third, everyone in Detroit is on the Tigers bandwagon right now. That's just how this city is. One winning season brings everyone through. That's how it worked with the Wings in the 90's. Likewise with the Pistons in the early 2000's. The majority of the people in Detroit are bandwagon fans. That's just how it is. Take time to look over these points here. You will then understand why teams in Alberta sell out and fill the arena up there more then down here in Michigan. -
Usually it's just the warm weather. I mean, if that isn't the case, then I guess every southern team has a bad arena crew or something. I wonder why everyone is thinking the Stars will be such an easy pushover. Turco has played excellent in the series so far. 3 shutouts in 6 games is pretty damn good. Not that Vancouver really has much firepower beyond the Sedin twins, but still, he must be doing something right.

Cleary or Franzen. Both of these guys played some great hockey. Both of them were very physical out there, and scored key goals at key times. Honerable mention goes to Lidstrom. He did a great job shutting the Flames down, especially Iginla. On the Flames end, no doubt it's Kipper. He is just a hell of a goalie. Watching him sometimes, I just wonder how he does it. He had a fantastic series, and really kep the Flames into it the whole time.
-
Just like their are bad losers. ala Iginla. Nah, I'm just kidding here. He didn't get out of hand at the end of this game, probably because of the second OT factor in all. Thanks for the decent posting though Jiggy. I know some fans would come on here and call it a fluke or some other crap, but you didn't. Thanks.
-
Kiprusoff is a lot better then J.S. Giguere. At least in my opinion.
-
Lilja definitly gets props from me. He had an excellent series. He played a solid game without making too many mistakes. His physical play is noteworthy also. Pain Train indeed. Good job Lilja!
-
The Wings will play either Dallas or San Jose in the second round. You must be confusing the playoff stats a bit here. And why do you have no faith in Hasek? I know this is LGW, brewing pot of negativity, but when he is on his game he can be an excellent goalie.
-
Well then. In that case, GO LANG!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
AHAHAH! Thanks a lot Offsides! I'll take it! I do commend Lang on a job well done tonight. See, I can be nice sometimes. Just like Lang does stuff sometimes, right?
-
I think he had something to do with it. Some of the members here at LGW might also have had something to do with, as they were the ones who sent the Wings players the bernie T-Shirts. Woo Bernie!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thanks! Great series! Flames put up a hell of a battle. It was quite entertaining.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a shot by Franzen! WOOO! Calgarys done, now bring on the Stars or Sharks!!!!!!!!!!!

Per TSN: McLennan suspended 5 games, Lebda out for Game 6

Don't give me that. Apparently fans of other teams have been just as mad about what happened last night as we are. Go on HFboards and see for yourself. -
What happened to your Lang avatar?

I thought Calgary puck shut down any new members from joining. Just curious. Are these trolls Wings fans, or fans of other teams trolling? -
