Hats off to Scott for a great NHL career!
-
That's the problem. If he doesn't score 5 or so goals a game, he's considered a non factor. Everyone forgets how great he played, especially in Game 1, for being gone so long from the back injury. This is what one loss can do to people.
-
Untrue. Even Zetterberg was criticized after Game 3. It was bulls*** though, as I don't think he really deserved it. He played great in the other games. It just goes to show that, here at LGW, nobody is ammune to criticism. Jeez, sometimes I think we sound like Leafs fans the way we come down on some of the players. Sometimes it is deserved, like with Lang. Other times though, like with Zetterberg, it isn't.

You'd think that Lang, all be it, would at least be playing well so he can get a good contract on another team. I mean, your kidding yourself if you think he actually wants to play here again, being that rumors persist him and Babcock don't get along. Samulesson is a tough situation. We're basically stuck with him like 2 more years, so I don't know what we can do with him. It'll be hard to really trade Samulesson, unless it was for a low round draft pick or future considerations (or pucks! ) but I don't think Holland will go for it.

Pre-GAME 4: (4/19) Red Wings @ Flames - 9:30 PM EDT
Kp-Wings replied to Must Kill's topic in General
Come on Wings! Take one in Calgary! Let's go Red Wings!!!!!!!!!! -
Yeah, exactly. I probably should have said "When was the last time Lang scored a goal or had a point against a playoff team".
-
Tha'd be my end.
-
No they didn't. I guess they all hate Bertuzzi so much they didn't boo him.
-
Oh come on! That was a typo!
-
This could only mean one thing: Lidstrom is lazy and he sucks!!!!!
-
This is just a shot in the dark here, but I'm guessing OsGOD's post had a nice hint of sacrasm coming from it.
-
I sometimes wonder if that really has an effect on things. How do you think the crowd would have acted if, say, Bertuzzi wasn't in the lineup for yesterdays game?
-
Consider it done. You know, I do think this is a good idea. The Lang situation especially. I mean, if people feel the need to complain (myself included), one designated topic would prevent about the 10 or so topics that people make and wast bandwidth. This is a pretty good idea.

You couldn't be more wrong. Check my post history. I've been all over Lang since about mid-January, and you can't say we weren't winning then. Don't accuse me of things you don't know are true. I haven't really cared for Lang since last year. At that time, I wasn't a member here. But if I was, I would have the same feelings then as I have now. The only time he hasn't been a lazy blob was when he first got him back in 2004. Since then, he feels the need to not work. At least last year he was producing, so I generally let it go. He isn't do anything this year though, so why is it so wrong that I call him out? Isn't that what most people do when players aren't playing well? Little slump? When the last time he scored a goal? Or had a multi-point game? You know, I could go on and on and on, because I have enough evidance to support my thoughts on Lang. But I won't. If it makes you any happier, I will stop bashing Lang. edited for grammar

Bert and Maltby sit? Why? Like Lang and Sameulsson have really been playing any better?
-
I tend to disagree with that statement. Even when the Wings are winning, we all still hate Lang. Oh what. He's playing better now. Because we hated someone before means we should still hate them now when there is no good reason? There is a reason many of us, including myself, can't stand Robert Lang. I don't give a damn if he's a Red Wing or not, if he doesn't want to even make an effort play well, then why should I compliment him?
-
Ah ok. I actually thought something was wrong with my radio until I heard Ken Kal said it was a fire alarm. I'm suprised the game wasn't delayed at all.
-
Unfourtantly no, that won't happen. The Tigers seem commited to him, because he'll occasionally pitch a good game or two. For the most part though he seems more intent about giving the other team a walk by ripping the ball right at the hitter. Of course, this is another subject for another day.
-
That's what I said. Nemchinov is not a bad guy. I remember when he still played in the NHL and he was a decent player. He didn't have an attitude like Semin does either. Again, I feel this stems far past missing a practice. Semin has a history, and that never helps.
-
...Zing!
-
Yeah I heard it last night on the radio. What exactly happened there that set it off? On topic, the Wings will have a very hard time taking one out of Calgary. The atmosphere there is just so loud, it must be impossible to stay on your game with that kind of noise. It'll be a very tough challenge for the Wings to pull out of there with a win.
-
I wasn't directing that at you. I was mainly referring that to anybody that was going to come on here and give a speech about how Lang brings it to the playoffs and all this other bulls***. Yes, Lang has played well in the playoffs in the past. But he sure as hell isn't this year. I'd watch what you say about playing Josh Langfeld also. He is extremely clumsy, misses sure fire goals, and is always in the box. If the Wings were to take some fourth line guy out of GR, I'd take Matt Hussey or even Bootland before I put Langfeld in the lineup.

Mickey is not used to traveling all the way out to Calgary to begin with. He has that stomach condition or whatever it is, and probably wasn't feeling very well. CBC and the others always seem to have a better feel for the game then FSN, especially when they show games at The Joe. I swear, sometimes I watch games on FSN and they must have their mics turned down or something, because I know the crowd is not that quiet. It's a shame that the presentation from FSN isn't very good, because Mickey is hands down one of the best commentators in the league.
