Capitals' Semin kicked off Team Russia

I think it goes beyond that. Semin is a good player, but has attitude problems like you wouldn't believe. He walked off on the Capitals last season for no real reason. I think Sergei Nemchinov knows a little bit more about Semin then some others. I know Nemchinov didn't play in the NHL at the same time Semin did, but they probably played against each other in Russia, and Nemchinov knew what he was like. I'm taking sides here, as maybe it wasn't Semin's fault. But he has a reputation, and that's makes me think something else is coming into play here.

    Any change

If I had to pick one of the two to stay in the playoffs, I'd pick Sameulsson. He really isn't that good, but at least he won't cost us like Lang. All Lang knows how to do is turn the puck over and get beat because of his laziness. He sucks. Sameulsson, at the very least, is defensivly responsible and won't cost the Wings. If Hudler was in, one of those two would sit. Unfourtantly we don't have enough other players to play for the other one to sit (Kopecky hasn't played in almost 5 months, so don't even mention him). By the way, for all of those Lang lovers that are planning a "Robert Lang brings it to the playoffs" thing, please don't. He hasn't even been close to playing a good game so far. He's been the worst player on the team so far, and this for a guy that supposdly does bring it to the playoffs. He should sit, period. If he's going to be in the lineup because he played well in the past, I guess we should just bring back McCarty while we're at it.

    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

I assume your talking about tangstoiggy, who IMO is a f*cking moron. Am I right?

    Kyle Calder

IMO Calder plays with the two worst forwards on the team. What do you expect out him anyways when you have lazie fair Robert Lang doing nothing except turning the puck over and missing passes? Or Sameulsson not passing at all and instead choosing to take a long bomb shot that only Dan Cloutier would let in. I almost dreaded coming on here after the Wings lost. I knew there would be a lot of idiots making stupid complaints over one loss. You guys sound like my father when it comes to the Wings. One win and everything is great, the Wings will win it all. One less and you guys are already looking towards next season. It's ridiculous. edited for grammar

The biggest problem with our team

One win and everyone is on the Wings bandwagon in full force. One less and everyone is calling for their heads. Pathetic.

    Any change

My personal opinion here: Lang should be benched before Sameulsson. Unfourtantly though, it'll never happen.

    Robert Lang

So far this crap I've been hearing all season of "Robert Lang brings it to the playoffs" has been nothing but bulls***. Lang is undoubtadly the worst player on the team right now. I seriously wish Babcock would bench his fat lazy to send a message or something. I was really mad seeing him show no effort out there last night, and here Jiri Hudler, who works his ass off, is being benched. Ugh.

    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

Brutal finish. I stayed up to watch it too. How could the Wings let it slip away like that? Oh well, they'll just have to come out harder in Game 4. By the way guys, I'm curious here. How have the Flames fans who post here been? I really hope that after one win they didn't start becoming a bunch of arrogent pricks. I noticed a new forum rules thing though, so something tells me they were.

    Wings fan in Edmonton

It always helps that Edmonton is not in the playoffs. Or for that matter that the Wings are playing their bitterest of rivals. Although I still somewhat expect Oilers fans to root for the Flames, because their an Alberta team, and most every Canadian can't stand it when an American team wins the Cup. Most notably Grapes, but still.

    PRE-GAME 3: (4/17) Red Wings @ Flames - 10:00 PM EDT

One goal will not faze that crowd. More like four or five. I just hope the Wings can take at least one out of Calgary. It'll be a challenge, that's for sure.

    Kal suggests Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi

The Picks depend on a variety of things: How many points Bertuzzi scores in the playoffs, how many games he plays, and the overall success in how far the Wings go.

    Atlanta vs. Nashville

The problem with the stations here is that they care more about the Lions than the Wings, or any other team in Detroit for that matter. Now, if the Lions were a good team I could understand. But the Lions are perhaps the worst franchise in all of professional sports, and yet they still get more media attention than the actual good teams in the Wings, Tigers, and Pistons. It's really that way everywhere in the US when it comes to hockey. It's like this with sports in the US: Football > Every other sport. No matter where you live, Football will be the most talked about sport in that city, even if the other teams are good, and the Football team is s***ty. Hence, the situation here in Detroit.
  13. No he shouldn't. For one, Fedorov left on his own terms. I would understand if the Wings got rid of him, ala McCarty, but he left on his own, for no real good reason. Secondly he was a very moody player when he played here. I know he was a great player here and all, but I really don't feel his number should be retired. Just my thoughts.

    Kal suggests Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi

Yes! I would love to see Lang finally moved down to the 3rd of 4th line. He doesn't deserve to be playing all the minutes he does with the way he's been lately.
  15. Kp-Wings

    please explain!

I think Mickey Redmond is the one who said the Wings might be double shifting Lidstrom to get him out there at the same time as Iginla. If not, Lidstrom should still get on the ice fast enough to shut down Captain Visor. If anything, Babcock will probably change the defense right off the faceoff if he can.

    Kal suggests Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi

I would be utterly shocked (and happy! ) if Sameulsson sat, but he probably won't. Hudler will be the one more than likely. It's too bad because he's been playing great so far. As for the line suggestion, I like it. Two huge monsters in Franzen and Bertuzzi, and Bertuzzi get's a great playmaking center in Filppula to set him up for a few goals. That line, if put together, seems like it could be very dangerous. I'd like to see it.

    Atlanta vs. Nashville

IMO that pick is also no longer with Atlanta (Patrick Stefan). He is also not nearly as good as many thought either, as he is having a hard time cracking the Dallas Stars fourth line.

    East vs. West

Philly, Boston, Washington, and Florida aren't really any better. The only thing the East has over the West is there are more above 500 teams. In the West, the teams are a lot stronger, with the #8 seed team being about as good as any of the top 4 seeds. Anyone in the West who did not in the playoffs, with the exception of Colorado, did suck. In the East, the top 4 or 5 seeds are really the only truly strong teams. Anyone else below that are the ones who played inconsistant hockey the whole season, and just barely sqeaked by the others for a playoff spot. The lower seeded teams in the East really aren't very good teams, which is why the race was so tight, because you had a lot of sup-par teams that were inconsistant and couldn't clinch a playoff spot like the teams in the West. That being said, the West is indeed the stronger conference.

Bert's trade - conditional draft pick

Bert was mainly brought in to address the physical need for the Wings. If their going to sit him for draft picks, that seems like a very strange idea. Then again, Babcock and Holland are probably impressed with the way the rest of the Wings are playing physical, so maybe they are sitting him to curb the stats. I'm sure Holland doesn't want to give up like 4 or 5 draft picks or how many ever were put in that deal. Who only knows what's going on. If he does play again in the playoffs, then it wouldn't have been for that reason. Which it would really seem weird if it was.

1270am: Regehr OUT for Game 3

I didn't even realize there was a SCF in 2005! Who won that year anyways, Washington?

1270am: Regehr OUT for Game 3

Good for the Wings. Regehr is such a hard player to play against because he is physical and such a good defenseman. I was kinda thinking he wasn't going to play anyways, since he looked like he was in a lot of pain leaving Game 2.

    Kara Yario suggests...

Agreed. Anything out of the ordinary this year in the NHL always get's blown way out of proportion. I just don't understand it sometimes. It's not like every playoff game is going to four or five OT's anyways. In fact, it rarely ever happens at all. Every year, there are about one or two playoff games that go the distance and have a lot of OT's. But otherwise it doesn't happen that often at all. The way things are done right now is fine. I see no reason that, after one long OT game, that the rules should change.

Kara Yario is one of the all time worst journalists. This is why anything she says should not be taken into consideration at all, because everything she says is usually fished out of the toilet after shes taken a s***. Shootouts in the playoffs? Please. Would an actual sane person ever suggest this?
