They have enough talent surronding those players though. Unlike the Flyers. If Grapes was GM on that team, he'd replace Selanne and McDonald for Jeremy Yablonski and Reed Low. And whenever Grapes gives compliments to the Ducks, he never once mentions guys like Selanne. Yet, he says what a good job George Parros (Mario Mustache) has done, which was really nothing except drop the gloves. I love having fighters on the team, and I love fighting, but in Grapes eyes, you only win with those type of players, and that is simpily not the case. The Ducks are known for their fighting, but they have a lot of skilled guys also. The teams Grapes likes are teams like the Flyers, who have very little talent but a lot of fighting. The Ducks have a lot fighting, but at that same time they also have a lot of skilled guys, which is why their so successful.

Since we started a topic about what a jerk he is, isn't that considered as caring? It's not like Grapes reads these boards anyways. It's just fun to make fun of him though, since theres so many different ways to do it. His hate for Euros, French Canadians, non gritty players, players with visors, and players that don't block shots is now becoming just a joke that he gives us so we can make fun of him. He should know by now that a team full of goonish fighters (which is the way he built his teams while still a coach) doesn't win anymore. Hence, the 2006-2007 Philadelphia Flyers as a fine example. I never take Grapes seriously anymore. He is getting worse and worse every year he gets older. I really only watch him now for comical purposes, kinda like how I read Eklunds blog.

Great post Dave. I generally agree with what you say about Radulov. He is, by no means, a dirty player. It was just a simple mistake, and unfourtantly Bernier got hurt. The only reason I feel Radulov was suspended is because Bernier was seriously hurt on the play. Hartnells knee to knee on Cheechoo was much worse than the Radulov hit, but Cheechoo was not hurt, and therefore no suspension was issued for Hartnell. Being injured on plays like this is really where the suspensions come in. Bryan Marchment is a good example. He got a lot of suspensions for his knee on knee hits, because he almost always injured guys when he did it. This is why he got so many suspensions in his career. If Cheechoo was hurt on the Hartnell hit, that definitly would have been a suspension. Any injury on a knee on knee hit is a suspension. If there is no injury, there is no suspension. I remember in Game 1 between Ottawa an Pittsburgh someone on Ottawa knee on knee checked Evgeni Malkin. It was a dirty hit, but no suspension was issued because Malkin was not hurt. Same situation basically applies for the Hartnell hit.

Look at it this way: In that trade, we finally got rid of Max Kuznetsov. There, better now?

Guys, this is not 2001. Calgary doesn't have Scott Thomas. Yeah, I know, it's early. Going into Calgary definitly makes me nervous. A sweep in Calgary is near impossible, and only exists in mythology. If we can take at least one game in Calgary, then come back home and wrap it up in Game 5, then I'll be happy.

I don't consider winning that award a good thing. Now, if Buffalo is eliminated by the Islanders this year, something will seriously be wrong with the Presidents Trophy. No way (even though I'm still calling it, just to stir things up ) the Islanders should beat a team like Buffalo in the playoffs. There is a major talent difference between the two.

The guy has made 90 saves out of 97 shots in only 2 games. Now that, in my opinion, is pretty damn good. Not all of these shots are what you said bad shots either. He has made some spectatular saves so far in this series.

Hah, that ones still on quite a bit. The Yzerman one hasn't been on in a while though.

The Wings will not sweep. As much as I'd like it, it would be almost impossible to take BOTH games in Calgary. Especially if the Flames lose Game 3, expect a possible coaching change to be made, with the return of Darryl Sutter and his large ears returning behind the bench.

It's hard to really hate Edmonton though, since they haven't been good in over 20 years. *And yes, I don't really consider last year as Edmonton being good, since they really weren't*

You consider Williams better than Calder? Wow, that's a first. Yzerman, even with his injuries and age last year, was still better than Sameulsson and Lang are now. Lang has no excuse either. He has a decent linemate in Kyle Calder, and isn't getting it done. And even when Bert has been in the lineup and played on that line, Lang still hasn't done anything. As far as this thing with Lang bringing it to the playoffs: He hasn't brought anything yet this year except a bag of donuts and cheeseburgers. At this rate, it's a far stretch that he'll pick it up either. edited for grammar

I know. It'll never happen. But it should. The famous LGW line of "Lang is lazy and he sucks" couldn't be more true. I know you support Lang through the toughest of times, but you have to admit that Lang is not even showing an effort so far.

You forgot one: 3. Either Lang or Sameulsson should sit.

Hughson is ok on the late games, but I'd prefer they keep Cole and Neale together. Those two are probably one of the best broadcasting tandems in the league. Millen is a putz. I don't know where they get the idea to put him in on some of these games anyways. If anything, go with Drew Remenda if they have to.
