Thanks for the compliments Jiggy! Kipper really is the only one keeping the Flames in the series. If he wasn't playing as good as he had, both games would have been about 7-1 or 8-1. Not saying this just because I'm a Wings fan either. Calgary looked very unmotivated in both games, and was getting beat many times. Let me ask: Is Jim Playfair that bad of a coach? Calgary is really looking sluggish, and I wonder if Playfair is even saying anything to his team.

CBC is pretty good, with of course the exception of Grapes. I do like Bob Cole and Harry Neale as broadcasters, even though they are sometimes annoying when the Leafs play, considering they are major Leaf homers. Still good broadcasters though. I think Grapes is the only thing that really drags it down. They need a real guy on there to talk about hockey. And no, not Kelly Hrudey either. He is boring, and has the attention span of a 5 year old. He'll be talking about hockey a little bit, then go off and some weird subject that has nothing do with hockey at all.

I'm just waiting for Vancouver - Dallas to come on. The Anaheim - Minnesota series really doesn't interest me at all, unless it was the only game on.

After watching him tonight after the Ottawa-Pittsburgh game, I think Grapes has a little thing for Chris Neil. My God, I thought he was having an orgasim the way he kept talking about Neil.
-
The only thing I heard was that both of them were fooling around in the locker room after a practice, and somehow Avery broke Thorntons hand. That's all I've ever heard about it. I've never heard the medicine ball story, so I don't exactly know what happened.

He didn't miss any games though, did he?

Newsflash: Defenseman Robert Scuderi is injured after being hit by Schubert. Offsetting penalties come out because Schubert made the initial hit, but Ryan Whitney recieved a roughing penalty for trying to fight Schubert.

It helped him getting out of LA. He was on a very short leash. Just listening to him in the intermission in the Wings-Flames game just shows how much scrutiny he received in LA. He's definitly turned it around in New York. Watching him play now almost makes me wish we hadn't gotten rid of him. I'm serious here too, since when he's not in the box he can be a pretty good offensive player.

How mature. Realize I am not the only one that said it wasn't a cheap shot. Why not try reading, or even gazing, at the topic before you post in it?

Too bad Flip is only getting 8 minutes a game, while lazie fair Robert Lang is getting nigh near 15-20 minutes and doesn't do s***. Just imagine if guys like Flip or Hudler got as much ice time as Lang.

As long as Ottawa keeps scoring, I could watch this all day. I really want to see them put Pittsburgh in their place. They are the most overrated team in the league.

That's because Grapes is an idiot. If Maclean wasn't on the show to keep him in line, it would be a 10 minute rant fest of him going off (worse than usual) about Euros and French Canadians with visors. If you think it's bad now, it would be 100 times worse without Ron. That'll never happen. Ottawa won't let him go.

According to Grapes (yeah, what a source ) Colby Armstrong has a history of hitting guys when their coming around the net. The intersting thing is that the Letowski hit was an open ice hit. This is the first time Armstrong hit someone coming from behind the net and actually hurt them. He made the same type of hit on Saku Koivu, but Koivu did not get hurt. Again though, the hit was clean. There was really nothing Armstrong could do.

I'm rooting for the Sens too. I really don't know why either, but I hate the Pens.

Little late here, but excellent game! The Wings played great! Flips goal was amazing! On the subject of Calder, he really does deserve better. Lang and Sameulsson are dragging him down. We need Bert back on that line now. Really, that second line is the only line not doing anything. Every other line is playing great, especially the Draper-Maltby-Cleary line.
-
Second time Colby hurt someone. Remember that hit on Trevor Letowski way back in October? The hit was clean though. Not much more to be said. I hope Patrick Eaves will be ok.

Another topic involving Grapes? Jeez, that's two already. Very true. Grapes is pro anything canadian. If Alexei Yashin was a canadian, he'd say how he is worth every bit of his contract. If Darcy Tucker was russian, he'd say what a cheap dirty bastard he is. Typical Grapes at his finest.

Cleveland! Woo! Late night crew! I hope the Dallas/Vancouver game goes deep into overtime!
-
Exactly. Nice to see someone finally sees it. Iginla isn't a bad guy off the ice. But on the ice... well, vladdy16 already gave a good player bio of how Jarome plays.

Come on guys. It was not a cheap shot. While I admit it could have been done without, it's not like Phaneuf went all Chris Simon on Zetterberg and tomahawked him in the face. Please, stop being such homers on this one. It was not a cheap shot by any stretch of the imagination. Uneeded? Yes. Cheap shot? No.

Calm down. Your sig was blocked because it was too big, not because it was inappropriate. At least this is what I assume anyways. I am not a mod, but I imagine this is the reason why it was removed.

It was probably his decesion not to play.
-
Aflac, you should not have mentioned the sellout streak ending. I knew that would probably set a bunch of people off. It was probably a good thing that the sellout streak ended. Maybe it'll send a message to Mike Illitch that the tickets are too damn expensive and people are not going to spend around $500 a night just to watch a hockey game.
-
I think the real suprise here is that the NHL is actually being mentioned on ESPN. Now that is the first time I've seen that in a while!

And that's one reason why Grapes like MacTavish, yet all of his players hate him.
