The Oilers have one win in 19 games. If they do somehow happen to win this game, it should make things interesting tomorrow. I doubt it'll go that far though.

Lou... I think sales for that would be better if he played for the Blues, since apperently the city of St. Louis has a higher crime rate than Detroit now!

Woah, what a change in the tides. Leafs lead 3-1, and now trail 4-3. I wonder if they just pulled Raycroft temporarily, or if he is done for the game. This game is great. Some excellent hockey right now.

Bates Battaglia makes it 1-0 Leafs. Toronto is really dominating. Montreal has only 1 or 2 shots so far. Good game though.

Bertuzzi is a lot better than you give him credit for. He brings something the Wings have lacked for a long time, and that's toughness. Why do you hate Bertuzzi so much anyways? The Steve Moore incident? He's here now, is he not? Jeez, just learn to forget. It's not like Moore was a Red Wing at one point in his career, or had some emotional connection to the Wings or the city of Detroit.

And what, sold the farm in the process? All we gave up for Bertuzzi was Shawn Matthias, a prospect, and a couple of conditional draft picks that will be based on Bertuzzi's play and how far the Wings go into the playoffs. If we would have went after Tkachuk or Guerin, we would have been ripped off. Both teams who got those guys majorly overpaid in the process. I think the trade would have involved the Wings giving up one of at least Hudler or Filppula, Jakub Kindl, and a whole boatload of draft picks. And besides that, my instinct tells me both Tkachuk and Guerin will be back with the Blues next season. I'm glad the Wings didn't get involved with those players. Todd Bertuzzi was a great pickup. He adds the physical force the Wings have needed for so long.

I feel as though with the recent strong play of Dubielewicz, the Islanders will make the playoffs. Still looking forward to the game tonight though. Some great hockey coming up.

So I take it you don't watch the Blue Jays then? Didn't see the Tigers game today. Good to see they won anyways.

Ozzie did struggle early with all the injuries, but he really turned it on at the end. He was clutch in those Nashville games, and in a few others too. Great Job Ozzie!

HERE COMES THE PAIN TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fight! He crushed Sharp! I'm suprised Sharp didn't collapse after the first punch Lilja threw at him. Lilja is really starting to grow on me here! Dare I say he could be a favorite? Stay tuned! On another note, who would have thought Samulesson would have a 5 point game? He played really good. It's about time he started playing with some urgency. You can tell he wants a spot in the playoffs! Excellent game! Nice to see the Wings play so good on fan appreciation day.

It's mostly the die hard Datsyuk fans doing the congratulating here. Most other Wings fans (including myself) think he's nuts for signing him to such a long, high paying contract. Ken Holland has proven me wrong before, like his moves at the deadline this year. But it's going to be hard for him to prove me wrong now, what with the playoffs approaching, and Datsyuk of course doesn't know how to step it up in the playoffs. Like I always say though, we'll wait and see what happens.

Unless Ken Holland were to propose that deal, it won't happen. As much as we all like to rag on both of those guys, the managment obviously feels differently about them than most of us. If they felt the same way we all do, both Samulesson and Lilja would have been traded for pucks or future considerations. Take your pick. Besides, Montreal will most likely buy out Samsonov. Coming off the season he had, we actually would be able to pick him up at a much cheaper cost, if Holland wanted too..
